He ends up repairing it & even noticed my tail light was out & replaced it no charge. I really was afraid of getting screwed by a mechanic taking advantage of a female but the timing belt & water pump was a fair price & I'm driving my SUV again!!!

Went to Gerber with nsurance claim for some bodywork to be fixed as result of vandalism. Worst…read morebodywork I have ever received. Brought it back for them to fix and they made excuses and tried to fix it but they could not. The molding is popped up. There are scratches, swirl marks, and other paint defects that I brought to their attention, and more excuses. I do not believe they actually used the paint booth because there is an astounding amount of dirt nips. My vehicle is a 2018 so it's not an "old" vehicle. My thought is they thought it was a leased vehicle on my insurance policy and I wouldn't care, however I had actually bought out my lease entirely and paid off the vehicle in cash. They have frustrated someone that would have been a good advocate for their work and recommended them to employees and friends. Now every time I see my vehicle, I shake my head in disgust. I am in the process of hiring a new company to do the work out of pocket because of their laziness and willingness to cut corners. Below are pictures of the swirl marks and poor workmanship. The dirt nips are not pictured as they are had to capture on camera, but believe me I have found now around 13 nips, previously, I had zero.

I called Spankys right away and they were able to squeeze me in for an estimate (free by the way) that same day. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly smile from the receptionist. I explained my dilemma and Chris the shop owner came out to take a look at it. After a quick inspection he was able to get the blue prints for the parts I needed printed out and an estimate drawn up. He explained the service throughly and made sure I was on the same page. Also let me know of possible delays and how long it would take. My car was serviced the next week. I dropped it off Monday night after hours and received a call the next afternoon about a the slight delay (which I was notified in advance, so I greatly appreciate that) and by Wednesday morning it was good to go. Chris was very helpful, transparent, and because of the previous work that has been done on the car (not at Spankys!) he was creative. As the original bumper was not on the car but was still able to get the job done! He knew all I wanted was to be street legal and not interested in the aesthetics of the car but I'm sure if that's what I was interested he'd be able to assist me in that too! Overall I would highly recommend this family owned shop as they are honest, affordable, and very helpful. I appreciated the great communication and transparency. *knocking on wood* I hope I don't need to stop by for auto body work anytime soon but I know where I will be taking my cars if I need to get the job done! It started out very professional and I felt comfortable bringing my damaged vehicle (w/ plpd…read moreinsurance) there to possibly be fixed if affordable. I was told it would take 1-2 hours to get an estimate and decided to have them check out my jeep. My jeep hit a guard rail and had damage to the rear tailight/bumper and front headlight/bumper. The mechanic gave me the total. It wasn't worth the amount of money to be fixed and I decided not to go through with it (which happens). Supposedly he told me it was in so many pieces that it wasn't drivable when it was perfectly drivable to get there. The damage was all cosmetic with no damage to the engine, radiator, etc. He told me he spent four hours (when initially he said 1-2 hours the day before I brought it in) on the estimate and would not put it back together. He was also VERY unprofessional on the phone. He told me he would not let me take back my car unless it was towed because it was no longer drivable. I've been to many estimates and it usually takes 45 minutes to an hour, tops. So he basically held my car ransom and I had to pay for a tow truck to get my car back. I felt he was trying to corner me into being forced to be fixed by them. Also, the tow truck supposedly wouldn't get my disassembled parts so I have to pick them up. My estimate turned into a more disassembled car and therefore less drivable and more hazardous, since he refused to put it somewhat back together. I've never posted a review towards a business but this was so unprofessional I had to make it my first. Also I found a place that gave me an estimate much cheaper ($500 cheaper). My advice.. don't get an estimate on your car there unless you're fully insured, or want to pay for a tow truck to get it back. They still have many of my parts and I went to pick them up and they were closed on a Friday at 11am. So who knows if I'll get them back. Thanks SRH
