    Too good to share.

What a pleasant surprise to have a better pastrami sandwich than you can get almost anywhere at home in the United States. If you enjoy a good pastrami sandwich make sure you visit Schwartz's Deli.

My fiancé and I popped into Schwartz for a late dinner. We arrived around 10pm, and the place was pretty lively for a Wednesday night. We had no problem finding a seat though. The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, which is uncommon in Europe. Also, the food came out shortly after we ordered. We got The Best Hot Pastrami sandwich, and it was more than enough food to be shared between the both of us. The sandwich was cut into halves, and each half had what looked like a half pound of meat. The pastrami was stacked high, and it was so delicious. Nicely salted and fatty. If I had to be picky it could've been more peppery, but it wasn't bad by any means. I loved the sweet cabbage and house bbq sauce that it came with. The sandwich was amazing on its own, but those two accompaniments took it to the next level. Lastly, their fries were my favorite fries I've e had in a while. They were medium cut, cooked crispy, and tasted fresh.

Truth in advertising. This was the best Pastrami sandwich I have ever eaten in my life and I grew up in NYC so I know Jewish deli. The burgers are GIGANTIC. This place is the bomb.

Really solid jewish deli! The reuben with pastrami was very good. Cute and clean restaurant, though it's quite packed in, so you can be literally sitting on top of another table. Many people were getting burgers which looked solid as well, but pastrami was the way to go for me.

It's in The Marais along kind of a backstreet not far from L'As du Fallafel. The menu has a lot of traditional diner items like burgers and sandwiches. Place is very busy around that 8-9pm hour. The portions are ginormous. The food is really good too. The meat in the pastrami sandwich is really tasty, and the burger is a messy handful. Overall, I liked this place a lot.

I love burgers and Schwartz's Deli has the best burgers! I love that they didn't mind my asking for no bread and no fries! Best keto burgers ever!

Stopped here after a walking tour when my family was famished. We ordered a Cesar salad, hot dog, pastrami sandwich and chicken burger... so not conventional orders at a burger place. The Cesar salad was fresh and delicious. The portions on the sandwiches were more than we could eat. Overall very good food and has a great decor. Only thing I didn't love were the children screaming for the duration of our lunch. We were sitting very close to the kids who were very upset and i know it impacted my perception of the place. Definitely recommend if you have an appetite!

Tourist trap. New Yorkers - McDonald's is probably the better option if you're homesick.

The Yankee burger was delicious and had caramel iced onions on it which really made a nice flavour profile with the bacon and cheese.

This place is SO GOOD. I WISH I had something like this back home in CA. Definitely a great place…read morefor lunch.

Oh so close! I…read morereally wanted to like this place a lot but it all comes down to the food: it just was not as good as it could have been. They've been open for about 7 months and its owned / operated by a group of sharply dressed, cool looking, and welcoming Parisian hipsters. It is a tiny place with wall-counter seating in the front and a couple tables in the back. As most Americans know (or at least those who ate lunch in my county's public school system), you must have your tomato soup to go along with your grilled cheese. They were out! Not just the "soupe de la saison" but also the tomato soup.. doh! I ordered both the "mac & cheese"(10Euro) and "pastrami" fabrication (14 Euro) (my wife is out of town so I have no one to talk me down!). With a bottle of Mimi's beer (another product of Paris) it came out to a total of 31 Euros. You need to pick from white or rye bread for the sandwiches (at least those were my available choices). The biggest issue I had was with the temperature of the sandwiches. The level of gooiness was inversely proportional to the depth of the sandwich from the surface (sorry, I'm back in school for my masters and this is how every professor talks). Both sandwiches were not hot or gooey in the center. There were unmelted cheese bits all over the place. So much potential gooiness gone to waste! And this is not because I brought the sandwich home (a 5 min walk). It was never melted to begin with! I thought about nuking the sandwich but my hunger (and laziness) prevented me from getting up. The guy preparing my sandwiches (can you really call someone preparing grilled cheese sandwiches "Chef"?) highly recommended the mac n cheese. It was my least favorite of the two. Both of the sandwiches came with some of their homemade tomato sauce which was a tasty sweet concoction. It worked better with the mac n cheese which was also a sweet sandwich (from the caramelized onions). The flavors were underwhelming in general but I could attribute that to my preference for bolder flavors. I preferred the pastrami sandwich but it again was missing something. I asked for bacon on top and that was definitely a good addition. I think offering hots or a kosher pickle with the pastrami would be a nice addition. I'll go again if someone wants to get a grilled cheese fix but there is so much more of Paris cuisine to try....

Don't get me wrong, this place is good and nothing bad happened but I didn't really get impressed either. I visited early during lunch and I was one of 2 groups there but by the time I had finished my burger, the place was slammed. They have a cool looking bar in the back which made me wish I had come a little later so I could check it out. I'll save it for next time. I ordered the Savannah burger which was a big ass burger! When it arrived, it wasn't pressed down like you see in the picture. Uncompressed, it stood about 10 inches high! The burger was dripping with cheese. It came with an onion ring, grilled onions, raw onions, lettuce, tomato, and of course bacon. You get 2 sides but I didn't understand completely and just got fries for both sides. For us Americans who will only eat a burger with their hands, it was a mess. But worth it. It was the best burger I have had in the Marais. At 18 Euro you might say it was a little pricey but I think it is worth it.

Our sides were french fries, sweet potatoe fries, cold slaw, and fried bananas. All the sides were great. The burgers were definitely gourmet burgers. The waiter/owners were super friendly. We will visit again on our next trip.
