The receptionist frowned at me for the most part. I waited for 10mins, the PA saw me for like.. 2mins. Literally. She sent the scripts to a pharmacy I don't know and I wasn't even asked if I wanted that pharmacy. She verbalized the instructions, but she didn't take her time to explain what's wrong with me or what the meds are for. I've never seen a doctor/PA so quick lol. She was nice though, but I wish that they'd consider how the patient feels rather than just jumping to the next one. read more

I am not a big fan of dermatologists and never had a good experience with any. Suddenly my skin broke out right before my engagement pics and I found this place on yelp. Thank goodness for yelp! I visited Dr. Kopp and she was amazing. Super knowledgeable and friendly. I had my pics the next wkend and my skin looked much better. I was very surprised to read the negative comments on her. I have nothing but great things to say about this office and Dr. Jessica Kaylor! I've been putting off an anticipated appointment to check on a spot on my back for a while. When I finally went to make the appointment I did it very quickly on zoc doc for the next day and at the most convenient time. Then when I arrived I only waited 15 minutes to be seen. As I explained to Dr. Kaylor my concerns she listened carefully, explained what was happening clearly and then took care of my issues and concerns right then and there. No second appointment necessary. That is everything when you have no time to waste. Above all else, her bedside manner was the icing on the cake for me. She was professional yet sweet and relatable. They are just awful. The doctor (Dr. Kopp) did an unnecessary procedure on me assuring there is not gonna be any charge since they are gonna write it in a way that insurance will cover. but they did not and I got charged a lot for a temporary unnecessary procedure. As I got the insurance estimate by mail, I called them and they reassured me again there is a mistake and there is no need to pay the bill. A month passed and I got the bill with the same amount, now when I called them, they told me I need to pay the bill and they do not remember what they told me since there is no documentation and I am obligated to pay the bill. I paid the bill with the enormous amount for an unnecessary, temporary procedure. I advise never trust them and never go there. When they are lying to charge you more, they are not reliable. read more

Was not impressed by this place. First, the good. Clean, friendly office. Wait time was not too bad. Very friendly staff. Now, the bad. First, they charged my close to 100 dollars as a "new patient". It was actually more than that but with my insurance I just paid a tad under 100 dollars. Never have I (noticed) that from any doctor and it sounds pretty ridiculous to me. Second, they do not give out paper prescriptions. They push you towards using their preferred pharmacies - give you coupons and everything for these pharmacies. Look, I know all these doctors and pharmacies are in bed together but let me decide where I want to go to get my medicine. Did not like that at all. Just adds an extra step for me to tell them I want to go to Duane Read or wherever. Honestly, I could have even looked past this if it weren't for the "new patient charge". I know they will say many doctors do this, but to my knowledge, I've never seen it come up on any of my doctor bills. I won't be going back here. read more

This is far the worse location yet! First off. I had the doctor Jessica. She came in with no introduction. Rushed through my skin exam and left. After letting me wait in the room for 45 min! The reason for my exam was to check all the moles and make sure they're not cancerous. The way she checked did not reassure me at all! I'm paying for this visit and that's how I'm treated?! I have been a patient at Schweiger Dermatology Group - Hoboken for a few years now. The patient experience has always been frustrating, but the doctors have been good (Kopp and Tardio). Scheduling is a complete nightmare (Zoc Doc bookings from their website usually cancel/"cannot be completed" and you end up having to be placed on hold to try and book an appointment; reception/scheduling department is horrendous). Wait time in the office is a regular occurrence and you rarely get seen at your appointment time (typically 15-30 mins beyond appointment time). The prescription refill process for in-office visits is done through Briova/Optum Specialty Pharmacy which is the most inefficient process and typically takes 30-60 mins each time you have to refill between wait times and doctor office approvals. Most recently, I tried to book an appointment for my first visit since the pandemic and experienced the following: Zoc Doc appointment booked on their site that then cancelled, called to book appointment (on hold ~15 mins to get a live person) and was told it had been too long since my last visit which would require a consultation visit before being able to have the same visit/procedure scheduled that I have had for the past 3+ years, but had put on hold for Covid safety. This was the last straw for me as a Schweiger Dermatology Group patient. I enjoy Nicole Tardio as a doctor and would follow her to another doctor group, but the Schweiger customer care is just unacceptable. I have never made a review on yelp in my entire life because I'm a very simple person and I feel no need to complain, I just don't go back but my god this place is terrible. This place is horrible. This review is mainly to save you all your time and money. The people you make appointments with over the phone whether it's the call center or front desk hang up on you when you question them about the simplest things, such as instructions for when you arrive considering their doors are locked. The short haired lady at the front desk inside the clinic is a short fuse. I had a 7 am appointment and asked many times with the person I made the appointment with for instructions on calling and being let in because their office shows they aren't open until 8am. When you call at 7 am it redirects you to an automated system that informs you of the office being closed and hangs up. I finally get a hold of them at 8am. To make things worse, they don't answer the calls for the number posted on the door that they claim you call so they let you in. So I'm now calling two numbers and no answer...I was finally let in an hour later with about 4 people who were out in the freezing cold experiencing the same problem. When I explain all of this to the lady at the front desk to make a new appointment she rudely cuts me off and gestures me with her hands and says "I don't have time for this". You work here... how do you speak to people in that manner? You don't have time for this? Haha what?? I was simply questioning and I wasn't even rude about it considering I waited a whole hour for her to respond to me like this. This place is expensive, mediocre service, and very poor reviews. Costs whether covered by insurance or out of pocket will almost always be the same everywhere you go for a dermatologist. Go to a place that has better reviews because for this place it truly reflects them. If you ignore this review and go anyway, good luck and layer up because you'll be waiting in the cold for an entire hour after your appointment for them to respond to you with a "I don't have time for this". If I could give this place negative 10 stars I would. I get treated better at the dmv than I did the 5 minutes I spent in this office lol read more

She was able to give me some fast piece of mind and the biopsy didn't hurt at all. My family and I decided to try Schweiger Dermatology because it was close to where we live and some of the reviews were good. I unfortunately haven't had a positive experience. The group is always running late and barely care that me and my kids are waiting for over an hour. Then today, my husband had an appt to get a mole removed and they had no idea why he was even there and the doctor that he scheduled the appt with wasn't there and not even schedule to work today. The front staff and the doctors are definitely not working together. The people answering the phones have no idea what is going on. When I asked generally how much is a laser treatment they said "oh it varies so we can't tell you" that to me is a red flag. Why would anyone just go in for a treatment and not understand the costs? read more

Excruciating wait times. You walk in for your appointment and every waiting room seat is taken, SRO. You know they are double or triple booking as only 2 PAs are on at a time. I like the PAs but they push you to get prescriptions from their pharmacy and sometimes the cost is $50 for an rx. I refuse and sometimes a $10 substitute is available. read more

Nicole is the Dr. I was treated by on my first visit, and she's fantastic on multiple fronts. First, I don't expect much from doctors in the way of person-ability...few doctor's have both great skill as a doctor AND fantastic bed side manner. I just had my second visit today, and just as the first visit, it was an excellent experience. I really hope Schweiger Dermatology keeps her in the Hoboken office! To give you some context for my treatment, I'm going for these appointments to remove worts. During my pregnancy I saw them and they spread on my fingers, and also on my feet some. It took some time after my son was born before I had the time and focus to take care of getting them treated. At first I did not know about Scweiger Dermatology, and simply went to the dermatologist recommended by my PCP. What a disaster. Not only did that treatment not hold, the guy was not thorough and essentially didn't do his job well. I decided to look for other options, especially as my mother has had skin cancer and I need a long term dermatologist that can keep an eye on me and catch something like that early. I wasn't sure where to go at first, and googled Hoboken/dermo and got Schweiger Dermatology. The reviews looks good and they had much better availability time wise as my schedule is very challenging. I was lucky to pick an excellent office and got an fantastic doctor! Nicole specializes in adult acne and worts, so that particularly worked out for me...it's also really nice to be treated by someone who is very passionate about what they do, and while knowledgeable, also likes to educate the patient about she is doing. I felt so empowered as a patient when I left her office. This is the kind of doctor I would want to stay with long term for care and making sure I stay healthy with the skin cancer risk genetically. I'm very happy how this worked out, and the fact that they are right across from the PATH made it particularly easy for me to get there regularly for my treatments without too much hassle. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I have hormonal breakouts and occasionally get cystic acne. I had a cystic break out a few weeks ago and the pimples literally will not die no matter what I do. So, I decided to call up Schweiger Dermatology to inquire about out of pocket pricing (my new insurance doesn't take effect for a few more weeks). I told them I would be paying out of pocket and that I'm a new patient at the office. They told me the cortisone shot for the cysts would be $95. I had my appointment this morning and walked out of the office minutes after I walked in. The woman at the front desk asked if I was told how much it would be and I said "yes, when I called last week they said $95." She told me "No, since you're a new patient it's going to be $275." I asked why I wasn't told this when I called to schedule the appointment even after telling them I was paying out of pocket and was a new patient. She had no answer and was extremely unapologetic and just repeated it was $275 since I'm a new patient. It would be one thing if it was a small difference in pricing, but to up-charge someone $180 once they get into your office is ABSOLUTELY INSULTING AND RIDICULOUS. Especially if someone is coming in for a problematic skin condition on their FACE. Take aways: huge waste of time (commuting into Hoboken), extremely frustrating, walked away feeling like I was taken advantage of - a fantastic way to start Monday morning.... read more

Service of this practice is terrible. 3 receptionists yet they don't pick up the phone to take appt calls. I called on a Friday repeatedly to make an apt and only got voicemail. Finally I got an apt for Monday for a severe allergy eczema and they promised they call in a cream. I waited all day still severely suffering from the condition. They never called! Their excuse is they don't have paper prescriptions. Completely unacceptable service. Office looks nice but service doesn't match it. Really disappointing. They seem to make appointments, spend five minutes with you in person, and then pass around your chart to loads of different people where one hand clearly doesn't know what the other is doing. Thankfully, I was there only for a minor skin condition and a body check. My interaction with them did nothing to instill trust in them as a patient. I would NEVER use them for anything more serious, and frankly sincerely doubt I'll be back. Specifics.... 1. With my original dermatologist (a MD) out of the office (whom I liked), they made me an appointment with someone else. The DID NOT tell me that the person was a PA and not an MD. One would think that would have been pertinent information, no? The PA was nice and did a fine job with my body check and making a recommendation about a prescription, but this should have been disclosed. 2. The Medical Assistant there (who saw me before the PA) clearly hadn't taken even 10 second to review my chart before she spoke to me. She had all of the wrong info and it was if I hadn't ever been to the office before, and hadn't previously spoken to someone at length about the reason for my visit (though I had). 3. Although the PA and I had a lengthy conversation about the prescription, he (or the Medical Assistant - I don't know who did it) called in the wrong prescription. 4. When someone from Schweiger called me back about the prescription error, the person spent a long time clarifying info and, only at the END of the call, made it clear that she wasn't the medical assistant or a PA and that she would need to talk to others before having the correct prescription called in. She hadn't even pulled my chart when she called me. So what was the point of the call? Needless to say, the correct prescription STILL hasn't been called in! ADDENDUM: More than 24 hours later since first writing and the correct prescription STILL hasn't been called in. read more

Jessica Kaylor is more than amazing. I've been seeing her for about a year now (long enough to know that she is the real deal) and even the thought of seeing someone else makes me freak out. I've been to my fair share of dermatologists throughout my life and this practice is THE BEST. She really takes her time, listens to all my problems and meticulously tackles every single issue with various options that work best with my schedule, insurance, and outside of insurance. Jessica is very knowledgable, well experienced and honest with the results I should expect with the various treatments. Really happy with my visit to their office. Very friendly office, all the staff were super helpful and kind. I am a patient with Doctor Jessica Kaylor and she is amazing. I had pertinent acne and acne scars for more than 2 years now. I started my treatment in October and I have been taking topical treatments and anti-biotics advised by her. Zero side affects, also my skin has cleared up almost 95% and no acne since I started. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a permanent solution to acne problems. read more

Not a fan of the office in general, but very happy with the service and the PA Jessica was great along with her assistant (can't remember her name). Took care of me quickly felt informed and even recommended a great pharmacy in the area to use. Very happy with my experience. Taking off a star because after I left I saw the office was trying to charge my credit card. If I used insurance why are you trying to scan my card? Thankfully I use a protected number but unless I receive a bill for money owed there's no need to attempt to charge my credit card. read more

Physician Assistant Todd Newman will make you feel at ease during your visit in prep for your return. Their 'massive company' (as he put it) took over 11 months to provide me an overpriced bill that did not fix the removal of a skin defect. He went on to explain he takes no responsibility for said delay or false removal and that the time delay is out of his control due to company size. Do yourself a favor, find another dermatologist who will treat you right and not allow a minor skin defect to grow back so that he can go ahead and charge a second round of treatment. Beyond disappointed with the results, and even more disappointed with his response, claiming no responsibility and providing zero help in fixing the issue he had claimed was removed. A 10 minutes removal resulted in my insurance company being charged nearly $1500 and I was left with a hefty bill almost a year later. He is sneaky, and a good talker. I have been seeing Jessica Kaylor since the summer for female adult cystic acne and cosmetic procedures. I did Photodynamic Therapy for my acne in additional to an array of topical and oral medications. I still have a lot of old marks left over but my skin is FINALLY back to normal and is looking great. Before seeing Jessica, I had really hit my ultimate low. I felt like I was trying this and that and everything in between (Rx and OTC) with no relief. I wanted to take a minute to say how pleased I always am with Todd Newman, the PA, at Schweiger Dermatology. He is incredibly thorough, takes time with my exams and NEVER does a biopsy unless he's absolutely sure it's necessary. In the derm world, so many physicians are quick to want to sample, or will only do two at a time and make you come back for "insurance purposes" while it really is about them getting paid the highest premium. This is not the case with Todd and Schweiger as a group. I always feel valued and taken care of. An added bonus is that their office staff is also incredibly pleasant. They are always willing to fit me in, adjust my appointment, or help with any alternate item I may need. Overall, this is such a good practice. If you need a new dermatologist, go here! read more

I am horrified to post this but I've been struggling with plantars warts for over a year now. I originally went to a podiatrist in Hoboken who tried to treat them with a laser-not only expensive but also only available once a month because of equipment limitations- I had a bi-yearly appointment for skin cancer screening with Jessica kaylor and she asked about the warts- again so embarrassing.. I told her what I was doing with the podiatrist and she asked if I wanted to try a different approach (so professional not bad-mouthing the podiatrist, but truly looking out for her patient). It's only been a few visits and we are already seeing amazing progress! I need a pedicure lol. Jessica is amazing- and the support staff is incredibly professional. DO NOT come here for any cosmetic procedures. I was told over the phone that microneedling started at $350 per session. Since that is in-line with other dermatologists (in the city), I booked the consultation- a prerequsite to cosmetic treatments. At my appointment, I was told it is $800 per session and that I should NEVER have been quoted a price over the phone as it is against their policy. The PA I saw actually said "we charge city prices". I was stunned. I tried to ask about other treatments I could get to utilize the $125 fee, but he was odly vague and just more concerned about who quoted that price than the patient sitting in front of him. I paid the $125 consultation fee and left. Despite the huge price difference quoted, they are refusing to reimburse the fee, as I can apply that towards another treatment. HOWEVER, their policy of not quoting prices over the phone makes it impossible to make informed decisions on treatments. STAY AWAY! There are much better (and honest!) dermatologists IN THE CITY. read more
