This place is like moving cattle. Just in and out, no explanation, no patience. I went to see Todd Newman and his bedside manners are so stiff and forced. The first time I went in, I paid my insurance co-pay. $70. Then they wanted me to go back for a follow up visit to see how the medication was working. I made the appointment when I was there. I came back but I had a horrible scary cyst on my face so when I went back, the receptionist told me the FOLLOW UP VISIT would cost me $195!!! Who charges anything for a follow up visit? I was desperate so I paid it. I see Todd again and he drains my cyst which was soooo painful. Then he tells me that if it gets worse over the weekend, to admit myself to the ER. That's it. He just leaves. Nothing about after care. I just put a warm compress to drain the rest out. He wanted me to come back that Monday and that he was going to prescribe me medication for my cyst. The phone call never came from the pharmacist, no prescription so I canceled my appointment for Monday. There's no way I was gonna pay another $195 for crap service! I have been mis-diagnosed with dandruff my whole life. Every dermatologist I've ever been to has immediately told me that I have dandruff and prescribed me the same treatment I've always tried that never worked. This winter my "dandruff" has been worse than ever. I found Dr. Gumaste online and thank goodness I did. She pretty quickly told me that it's not dandruff I have and that she knew exactly what my diagnosis was. She prescribed me medications for it and for the first time in over 15 years, I have been living with a normal scalp! I had to do my follow up and get a refill of my prescription during covid-19 so we spoke over video chat and it was easy and great. I highly recommend Dr. Gumaste and her office. I went to see Nicole Tardio at Schweiger Dermatology because a dear friend whose skin was GLOWING referred me! She promised Nicole would take great care of me. She exceeded my expectations. Her bedside manner is impeccable and she made me feel so comfortable, answered all my questions and was so thorough with the work she did. I got a sun spot check and did some other procedures too. Nicole is a perfectionist and that is what I needed with the work I got done. THANK YOU NICOLE! I can only agree with everyone on this page. The doctor was ok but everything else is almost criminally negligent. I tried for 4 MONTHS to get to speak to the doctor that had treated me about a MEDICAL question. It is IMPOSSIBLE to call the doctors office directly, imagine that !!!!! It always goes to a central number where nobody has a clue and they make vague promises that someone will call back. After attempting this 5 times and getting one nurse calling me once in the middle of a class I was instructing I never heard from them EVER again!! On top of all this they keep sending me bills claiming I either owe them $300 or $50 depending on the day/person on the phone I spoke to. I asked them (also 5 times) to explain to. me a) if it was $50 or $300 and b) WHY I even owed them money since I paid $250 at the office day of. I switched over from another derm practice and have been seeing Dr. Gumaste. She is very friendly, knowledgeable, and she listens to her patients. I like how Dr. Gumaste listened to my concerns and took that into consideration when modifying my acne treatment. She gave me an alternative that my previous derm didn't give me and she did not force any meds on me. When a topical irritated my sensitive skin, Dr. Gumaste was very patient with giving me alternatives and prescribing me the one I felt most comfortable with. The condition of my skin has improved so much and I'm very happy that I went to Dr. Gumaste and avoided taking the pills my ex derm was prescribing. read more

I went to see the PA for a mole on my nose, the first time I waited 45 minutes, at least the mole was removed. Went a month later because of another mole that was bleeding & bothering me, still on my nose & the same PA Newmann, went in quickly, so quickly it took him 2 minutes in & out of the room, said it's fine no need to do anything, his hands smelled like mayo, when he touched my nose. I guess he was eating & didn't wash his hands!!!!! I gagged! I won't ever go there again. And on top it charged me a 20 dollar copay & 200 dollars to the insurance, for a 2 minute stinky visit!!!!! I went there once. The treatment service is so so, but the after service is sooooo terrible!! I have some acne at my chin, they give me some daily medicine, which I found out is doxycyline (I really don't know if taking this is ok or not), But this medicine make me don't have period for two months. The real terrible thing is about the money. My insurance paid all the money at first time, not only insurance cover but also the money out-of-pocket (my company have a fund for every employee to pay money out-of-pocket). However, the service people called me to say I didn't pay my money out-of-pocket. Then I called my insurance people to explain and they said it's their mistake. However, after two months, when I'm at vocation, the hospital service people called me again and again and again to ask for the money and treat me like I'm the person who want to skip the money on purpose. I have to call my insurance people again to explain to them again. It's obviously that the hospital service people didn't make any records at the first time. I have to start from the beginning... My appointment was canceled on me by the doctor I was referred to(I won't mention names). So I made another appointment the following day. I arrived on time and waited for about 45 minutes until I see my doctor leave the office. I speak to the front desk to see what was going on and the doctor had apparently left for a personal appointment. I was incredibly frustrated but the girls at the front desk handled my situation well, dispite my clearly unappy disposition. I was then quickly sent off to Todd Newman. And thank goodness for that, he saved the day. My experience with Todd Newman was, fast, yet efficient, and totally painless. I'll definitely be returning to him as my new Derm. read more

I came in for an annual skin cancer screening, and this was probably the best doctor experience I've had anywhere. Just to kick it off, I was able to make a same day appointment only hours after calling, and I am a new patient. I was expecting to have to wait a few weeks for an appointment. I was able to easily fill out the forms through a secure portal online, and I was taken in right away when I arrived. As for the appointment itself - two different people checked my skin separately, so I feel like it was more than thorough. After finding a spot that they wanted to biopsy, they were able to take a sample right away with no pain and no problems. I definitely found my dermatologist in the area, and knowing how competent they are ensures that I'll be getting my yearly check-ups. read more

The office is nice and clean, but the wait time to see a doctor is always long and I always feel rushed when I get in the room. I booked the first appointment of the day and still had to wait over 30 minutes to see a doctor. The doctors are really nice, but I find that they want to prescribe as much as possible and get me out of the room. As someone who has suffered from acne for 20+ years, I have seen countless dermatologists. Jessica is hands down the best I have ever worked with. She takes a very consultative approach, listening to your questions and concerns and then discussing treatment options. It feels personal and customized. The results have been amazing. We worked through a number of treatment options together and for the first time since my teens I am completely acne free. As far as the office, they are organized, responsive, have great hours and it is easy to make an appointment (through the office or on ZocDoc). Jessica's assistant Tiana is top notch and goes out of her way in the service department. Perhaps most importantly, I have found the team to be very compassionate. It's taken me a long time to write this, but I had a truly horrible experience with this practice. I felt very taken advantage of - sold on procedures that cost a fortune and showed zero results. In retrospect, I believe the doctor performing them was completely unqualified. I was given far too much anesthesia to the point that the doctor walked in and gasped audibly when he saw my eyelids drooping to the degree they were. So it's been a week since my daughters treatment at schweiger dermatology and it looks like despite them severely burning her skin without any care, the treatment wasn't effective... she still has a few visible pimples from the molluscum that weren't burned. All of that, just to have to get treated once again somewhere else bc i am never going to this place! They truly do not seem to have capable professionals to conduct a simple treatment like the one they did on my daughter, which they clearly communicated would be effective. Schweiger dermatology seems to be a corporation, which in itself i don't have a problem with, but when that corporation doesn't care about its customers, even 3 year olds and just wants to make money with unfit dermatology practitioners like jarret kaczmarski, it is very upsetting. I am also saying this bc it's been 2 days since I spoke to the regional manager for schweiger dermatology to ask them to at least not charge me for the visits my daughter made and they have not had the decency to call me back with a confirmation they can do that. I am sure they won't do that and just go ahead and collect their money from the insurance company for their negligent care. As a mother I am enraged about what happened to my daughter and how they've ruined the rest of her summer. Be warned, asked which practitioner will see you before you schedule a visit, if you still dare to visit this dermatology "practice". THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. read more

Plus side is that Jessica Kaylor was very friendly. I went in for a condition I already knew I had and was hoping for a medication that would work better than what I was using. I felt Dr. Kaylor really pushed the products that she sold there vs. a prescription that my insurance would cover. I came home and looked the same product up online. I found them at a much less price, one was over $50 less than the price she sold it at! Like I said they all seem nice and helpful just be careful about the products they try and sell you. read more

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. The medical personnel seem to know what they are doing. However, everything surrounding them is about as awful as it gets. The people at the front desk, as others have mentioned, will treat you like a complete idiot. Upon asking about how my insurance would match up with proposed treatment, the receptionist shook her head at me, and, with a voice one would use with a toddler, explained that she did not know. Instead, she simply pushed me to the back room to get me out as quickly as possible. After, I was slapped with about $1,000 in charges for a simple spray freeze treatment. For that price, I could have bought the same equipment they used and done it myself. Do not go here. There are much less shady offices out there. If you must, be absolutely sure that you get an itemized list of everything to be done and what it will cost, regardless of how much the staff mocks you. read more

Be careful with any bills you may receive in the mail despite insurance covering your entire visit. It was made out to be an honest mistake when my insurance conducted a conference call to resolve the issue, but it still baffles me why I would receive a bill. My gut says it was an attempt to defraud me but there's a small chance it was an honest mistake so just be cautious. The experience visiting the office was not a pleasant one either. The wait time was unusually long for having an appointment so early in the morning and the doctor gave me the impression I was an inconvenience to his day. I try not to write poor reviews of folks in the medical field, however my experience at Schweiger was a seriously poor one. The first time I visited (February 2017) I had a mole on my calf biopsied as it had been removed before and was growing back. After about a week I was called and told that the lab couldn't determine whether it was cancerous or not, and that they wanted to take it anyway. The procedure with Todd Newman went fairly well, and I only experienced a bit of pain (wasn't fully numbed). The end result was an S in my calf that was a bit painful - long story short it ended up getting infected (oozing puss, etc) and after reaching out several times with follow ups I was finally able to come in for a visit where I was once again charged a $40 copay. Todd urged me to come in a week later, where I was charged a copay once again. I was put on antibiotics and to come back in two weeks. At this point I was pretty fed up with the whole experience (several $40 copays, antibiotic creams and pills later, a gaping hole in my calf) and wondering if the surgery was even necessary (thankfully the mole was not cancerous after further testing). Todd reassured me that it's better to not have anything than find out later that it was indeed melanoma. Also, upon finding out I was being charged each time for a follow up, Todd was nice enough to have the front desk refund me for all of my follow-up copays. So here I sit a little over a year later with a massive scar on the back of my leg. Unfortunately, since the procedure and billing fiasco, I have not heard back from Schweiger about any further appointments, or treatments to help me take care of this scar. There's a lack of communication here that can be easily mistaken for a lack of concern for a patient's experience. The lack of follow-up after a procedure of this magnitude has made it clear that they were just glad to collect their insurance money and copays, and then move on and lose me as a client. As such, I'd strongly consider getting a second opinion before going through with any procedures suggested by Schweiger Dermatology. Alas, my calf modeling days are behind me. read more

They accommodated me when my GP's staff forgot to give me the referral I needed-the receptionist even called my GP, the umbrella organization and what felt like a ton of other people to get to the bottom of my problem. My Gp, despite having told them I would be needed a referral for the Wednesday after Memorial day, did not have it ready, despite me telling them the Friday before I would needing it. I was so frustrated but the receptionist there was amazing. I was able to seen the same day. Dr. Kaylor is also very personable. I will be seeing her later today for a follow-up. She prescribed some creams that are working well to reduce the discolorations on my leg and wouldn't go to anyone else. Very happy with the service thus far! This place is not perfect (busy, small waiting area, busy front desk) BUT I would absolutely 100% recommend Nicole Tardio for cosmetic & medical conditions! She: 1. Actually greets you (hard to find these days!) 2. Actually listens to your concerns 3. Doesn't push anything on you! In fact, I went in for Botox and because of a past reaction somewhere else she took a step back, did research over several days, AND ACTUALLY called me with a detailed follow up and determined I should NOT get it! Amazing. 4. Formulates a treatment plan. Takes time to write it down for you, provided samples 5. Very knowledgeable of medical conditions 6. Is very down to earth & friendly! Extremely disappointed with their service. After going there for a very routine procedure, I was greeted by a $550 lab bill in the mail from a third party lab in NYC about two months later. This is particularly disturbing since I addressed this concern with the staff, and I was reassured they work with in-network labs that accept my insurance. After I received the bill, their billing representative stated this was an issue between me and my insurance, and there's nothing they can do. As a small business owner, transparency in billing is paramount to my customer service. Schweiger has a long way to go when it comes to customer service. I am still disputing the third party bill five months later. Due my experience there, I will not be recommending them to anyone. read more

The receptionist frowned at me for the most part. I waited for 10mins, the PA saw me for like.. 2mins. Literally. She sent the scripts to a pharmacy I don't know and I wasn't even asked if I wanted that pharmacy. She verbalized the instructions, but she didn't take her time to explain what's wrong with me or what the meds are for. I've never seen a doctor/PA so quick lol. She was nice though, but I wish that they'd consider how the patient feels rather than just jumping to the next one. read more
