This is my story as a recent former employee of the monroe location. In November when everyone on social media was buzzing about the election, I joined in on a conversation NOT ON MY PAGE..things got abit heated with exchanges of opinions but such is politics right? In my comments I stated that ppl crossing the border illegally were acting like savages with the riots being caused and the criminal actions and records that they have...I am in no way racist as I love all ppl and anyone who knows me will say the same. I used the word savage to describe the dangerous and crazy behavior these ppl had...had this group of ppl been Caucasian or any other color or race, the word savage would still have been used. I then went on to talk about how kids are trying to be stopped from mutilating themselves permanently by transitioning to the opposite gender all before they even enter puberty...these are my opinions and im entitled to have them and to voice them, as anyone is..now this person who lives allllll the way in Tennessee took this so personally, that she actually went out of her way to call schweiger dermatology in NEW YORK to complain about my comments?? I was fired yesterday because they said I was using a racial slur when I used the word "savage" im.sure anyone who is anyone, knows that savage is referring to someone's behavior, not to their race or anything of the sort..they said i was speaking badly about native Americans?? I was so confused at first and then they mentioned me talking about genital mutilation...again I have ZERO problems with anyone who is LGBTQ, I was simply voicing my opinion on the current events. Schweiger Dermatology let someone all the way from Tennessee manipulate the English language and manipulate the company into thinking that I am prejuiduce??? When infact the only prejuidice shown was towards me. This company never asked me to explain...and what's worse is that this has nothing to do with my personal Facebook page. They fired a single mother right before Christmas for being on Facebook and talking about the election, exercising my constitutional right to freedom of speech. I am so angry and so heart broken. My story will be heard. Schweiger Dermatology, do better. This company is nothing but a joke as I did nothing wrong. This is how crazy this world is today. read more

I've had three appointments at Schweiger, with Dr. Fastenberg and his assistant Kim. I have been completely satisfied from start to finish. When I've called to schedule my appointments, the staff have been efficient and pleasant. The front desk support greet you with a genuine smile. At my last appointment, there was a toddler quietly playing while his mother waited for her appointment. One of the front desk ladies noticed how good he was being and brought him a treat and told him it was because he was waiting so nicely. It was a kind, proactive teachable moment for this child, and it went over and above. Nice to see. At two of my three appointments, I waited about 15 minutes to be seen. However, when it was my turn, Dr. Fastenberg took plenty, and all the time I felt I needed, with my appointment. He has a low key, friendly approach that decreases my anxiety, and he takes time to answer your questions and educate you. Twice he had a trainee with him, and it was interesting to listen to him go over things with that person because I learned from that also. Kim is great. Prior to the doctor coming in to the exam room, I shared that I had recently had surgery. She took care during my exam to make sure I was comfortable in my positioning. Overall, I'm very pleased with all aspects of this dermatology group, and have made an appointment for my husband to have a mole check in the next few weeks. read more

My experience with this office far exceeds excellence. When you call to make your first appointment is when your experience begins. My call was simple and nice, so far so good. Then, a day before my appointment I recieved a message from Dr. Fastenberg regarding my appointment. Basically, it was going to snow so he was checking to see if I could come a bit later. When I called, I spoke to Jessy. It was apparent she wanted to help and quickly set a new time for me at the end of the day. That said, because I mentioned I was concerned about an issue, she noted it for the Dr. who called me again to let me know they would see me when I got there and not to rush or worry. My appointment went really well. Jacqueline (I believe a nurse) was super kind and more importantly, in tune with Dr. Fastenberg. The Dr. was thorough, took time to explain things so I knew what was happening and my options. Having things biopsied or frozen obviously isn't the best but it's easier when your comfortable. So, from beginning to end, great office, people and the most comfortable treatment situation. I would recommend this office to anyone. read more

I have been to this office 3 times now, for 3 different procedures and will definitely be going back! I was seen by Tara Koch each time and I couldn't be happier with whom I chose. Tara Koch made me feel very comfortable. She goes above and beyond when addressing all of my questions, concerns and needs. I tend to be apprehensive when going to any doctors office and I felt at ease the moment I walked in. She is very educated, patient and takes her time with me; never makes me feel rushed. Tara knows how to lighten conversation, make me smile and forget why I am there even when I was nervous about a needle. (I felt nothing ) I love that I have found someone that makes me a priority when I am in the office and look forward to going back. Each time I go, I find comfort knowing I will leave better than when I walked in. I will be taking my son in to see her as well for a skin condition as she is the best in my opinion. The office is clean and all staff are welcoming while respecting privacy. The supporting staff is also very kind and always happy. I would absolutely recommend this office and Tara Koch. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Tamara Koss for years and yes she is amazing Doctor. As to her character she is an insensitive UNCARING human being. Who's NOT EVEN willing to see and speak with you until after you make a copay. On my last visit I NEEDED to speak with her regarding the co-pay before making the payment. Can you believe Dr. Koss REFUSED to see or talk to me before I made the payment? I explained to the front desk I would have NOOO issue with the payment if Dr. Koss felt it was necessary. This is the first time I have EVER asked to speak to Dr. Koss before making said payment. What does that say to her character, when a doctor you have been seeing for YEARS, REFUSES to see you until you pay the copay. Just remember, I needed to speak to her ABOUT the copay before I paid it. I would have done whatever she decided. ALL I wanted to do was talk to her first, before making. WAS that REALLY too much to ask of a doctor you have been seeing for years and has probably made over $10,000 dollars from you? So I cancelled my appointment on the spot and will most likely look for a new dermatology Group. read more

I cannot express how happy I am. I have had a large skin tag on my upper arm for years. I hated wearing short sleeves and couldn't wear many other shirts because it poked through. I do not have insurance and many places said it was big so it would be very expensive. So the ugly skin tag stayed with me. Until today! I had just gotten my tax refund and thought even if it costs the whole refund I'm doing this. I called the office and the staff was kind and I got an appointment within a week. When I got there I did not even wait 5 minutes before being called in. The nurse who brought me to the room was kind, and listened attentively. I want to say her name was Mary and I feel awful forgetting it. Then I met Dr Pasquale. He introduced himself as Joe and I immediately felt comfortable. He had the skin tag off in minutes along with a bunch of smaller ones. I wasn't even charged half what I thought it would be! He told me it shouldn't grow back but if it did to go back to him . A great experience from appointment setting to walking out the door. I would recommend Joe Pasquale to anyone. read more

I went to Schweiger Derm because I had a strange mark on my leg that had been misdiagnosed at 2 separate Stat Clinics. The Doctors there are EXCELLENT and the staff is awesome. With that said it is because of the following Gentleman that I am on Yelp leaving this review. His name is Joe Pasquale and he is a Physicians Assistant who also works in a Local ER. I grew up with 2 nurses in my family so Health Care has always been held in high regard in my home and standards held even higher. There are people who shouldn't be in healthcare and then there are people like Joe. It took Joe about 3 minutes to walk in and nail what he thought I had going on on my leg and furthermore he was thorough in ruling out several other serious possible outcomes . He suggested I go directly to the ER which I did and it turned out I had a superficial blood clot in my leg that left untreated could have been very serious. Thank you Joe and Thank you Schweiger Derm of Smithtown. You come highly recommended and you just may have saved my life! read more

I was given an appointment to see the Dr Gary Hahn and I absolutely had the worst experience ever. Dr Hahn could not control his hand from violently shaking while he was taking off a biopsy for a mole I wanted removed. I told the nursing assistant that was helping him that I wanted him to stop because I didn't feel safe and I was scared to death. Dr Hahn screamed at me then slammed down his medical tool and berated me. I told the receptionist at the front desk that I had stopped the office visit and that I wanted to see a totally different doctor but my request was denied. I called the office the next day to speak with the office supervisor so I could tell her all of my concerns but I got placed on hold and then disconnected. Two more phone calls later I finally got a promise to have someone in Human Resources call me back but NOBODY ever did. Very appalled by the way this doctor and office treats their customers/patients! read more

I can't say enough good things about Joe Pasquale, the PA who took care of me at Schweiger. I had a derm problem that was changing rapidly. Not only did he take care of me promptly in the office, but he made sure to follow up with my other doctor before starting me on treatment, and he provided me a way to contact him if things continued to get worse (which they did). He got back to me immediately on a Saturday and ordered medication for me. He answered all my questions by email promptly. And he has followed up with me twice to make sure I was OK, and to provide me with test results. I have had a lot of medical care in the past few years, and I've had my doctors drop the ball on a number of occasions. It was a breath of fresh air to have Joe take care of me. He is thorough and conscientious. The people at Schweiger are very fortunate to have him. read more

Thank you to Susan Conaty PA, at Schweiger Dermatology, for always being professional, compassionate and clearing up my dermatology issue. When I was at the practice for my skin cancer screening Susan went above and beyond to treat me. She took the time to explain a new problem and gave me samples to cure it and had me schedule a one month follow up. Sure enough my condition improved, which she confirmed, and she then sent my scripts to a pharmacy specialist for savings. The pharmacy is mail filling my prescriptions, it was ready in minutes ,and they were at the low copay Susan Conaty PA, stated. I appreciate this practices staff as well, they are kind and efficient. This practitioner and the office come highly recommended by me, an early age detected form of skin cancer survivor. Do not hesitate to schedule an appointment here. read more

I had my first appointment at the Schweiger Dermatology office in Smithtown on Monday. Tara and her assistant Shelly were amazing. It was an easy check in process, I was taken right away, they were patient with my questions, extremely thorough with my exam, made me feel comfortable and came up with a treatment plan for my areas of concern. I had some questions after my appointment and was able to text Tara directly. She responded within minutes and was EXTREMELY helpful. I was so appreciative. I went to another Schweiger office for years and always had to wait a long time, felt like they were in a rush and never gave me the attention I needed. Thank you Tara and Shelly!! I've always had problems with my skin, and so I've been bouncing around different dermatology offices for years. Every place was the same - long waits and visits with drs who don't really listen to what you're saying. It's very frustrating. I found this place during an online search and I'm SO glad I did. I see PA Katelyn Spadalik and she is absolutely amazing! She listens to what I have to say and collabs with me & what's going on in my life to make sure my treatment plan works for me. She always makes sure that I leave each appointment with a complete understanding of my prescriptions. She even writes it down for me just in case. Cannot recommend this place enough! read more

I had to bring my 6 yr old in to the office today. I scheduled an appointment, but there was some confusion and no one had us down for the appointment. I spoke with the ladies at the front desk as well as the manager Cynthia who was able to fit me in with a doctor. I was told I would have to wait a little while because they were fitting me in. My wait was maybe 20 min and well worth it. Dr. Koss saw us and was able to diagnose and treat my son very quickly. She was very knowledgeable and patient. This was our first visit to a dermatologist, but in the future if we need this kind of service we are definitely going to this practice. read more

This is by far the worst practice I have ever been to. There is a lady that watches u and when I had to get to my kids appointment for school they weee 30 min behind on appointment time. Finally saw a dermatologist for a very painful ingrown hair problem. The lady wanted to put chemical stuff on my face and I refused. I was upset bc I was late to picking up my kids from school bc of these awful people then they had the audacity to to send me a letter saying I can't go there anymore when I was in massive amounts of pain from ingrown hair cystic boils. Ilse Strauss is by far, the most thorough, competent and understanding medical provider I have ever had the pleasure of seeing as a patient. She is so passionate about her love for Dermatology and even more knowledgeable than any physician I have ever been to. She effectively cleared up my medical condition....a condition I had lost hope of being cured. The office is equally efficient and the fact that I was seen in a timely fashion is beyond any expectation when visiting a medical facility! I am so excited to visit Ilse again....only this time it will be for a cosmetic visit because she is equally fantastic in that department too! read more

I mustered my courage to see Dr. Koss yesterday in person. I had seen her prior through teledoc, but I felt my new issues required an in-person examinaton. The only changes I perceived were signing in and out via a kiosk and the emptiness of the waiting room. Everything looked to be in accordance with pandemic rules. Dr. Koss, however, was the same superb doctor. She took her time with my total body scan, answering my questions, and further examining my areas of concern. I left the office with a very good feeling that I had accomplished something very good for my body. All I can say further is thank you. read more

My go-to place for both cosmetic and medical dermatology! It's a beautiful office, appointments are kept on time, and the entire staff is super friendly and accommodating. I've seen Tara Koch a few times for both botox and fillers and she did an AMAZING job with both. I always hated the smile lines around my mouth and literally in one appointment she changed my entire look. Her work is flawless and everything looks completely natural and not over-done. My results have also lasted almost a year without needing a touch-up. I can't recommend Tara enough if you're thinking about trying botox or fillers! read more

I have been going to this place for so long due to my acne problems! Was prescribed many different ointments and was also taking pills for the acne but it never went away! Dr.Joe is a really cool doctor and he's seen me go through the entire phase on acne and told me to go on accutane which I'm on my 2nd month and I could cry because of how well it worked for me. Anyways Dr.Joe is amazing the staff is very annoying and to make an appointment over the phone takes forever! Would recommend to book appointment online and see Dr.Joe if you have issues with acne!! read more
