I contacted this grooming service in order to receive services for my dog. I have visited this location once previously and was hoping to continue services. when contacting this business, I spoke with the owner regarding scheduling for the upcoming week and the owner confirm to me that they were booked for the next several weeks as it is the holiday season. The owner offered to fit me in during the week as their business hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM and they accept appointments latest 1pm. as a business owner myself I contract with multiple different businesses and ask the owner if he could possibly make a referral to another grooming service that was credible. The owner redirected me to Google and let me know that he would never recommend another service outside of his own. When I was trying to communicate my understanding of this, I was continuously cut off. He seem to be very offended by me, asking for a referral. Again, I am a businesswoman myself, and I understand that it is a holiday season along with inflation, and a very difficult time for small businesses so it was never my intention to offend, but again as a business owner I work with various different businesses, and understand that maybe someone else could provide a service when I am booked completely. And if you look below at his condescending response. I don't know if it's because I'm a black woman that he felt so strongly convicted even in his response. I've been taking my 2 dogs to Scooby-Do's for a few months now and have never been happier! Both my dogs can be very shy and nervous around groomers but they love going to this groomer! I became Chloe's "Forever Mom" back in June from Halo Adoption in Phoenix and promptly had to figure out how to groom a dag, nonetheless a Maltese Poodle mix. Luckily, our friend who has a Pomeranian that likes to be shaved like a lion, recommended Scooby-Do's and it's around the corner! Chloe always seems fine when I pick her up, she smells incredible, she gets complimented by old men when I walk her, they know to put bows in her hair, they ask if I want the Maltese or Poodle cut (I prefer the Maltese- I love her little beard), and gently steer me to better decisions when I have bad ones (aka wanting to shave all the hair off her legs when it's cold out). It can be incredibly busy on weekends so if you have any way to go on a weekday, that would be recommended. If you have to run errands or do annoying house tasks that a dog would be in the way of, they actually may not be done for a while so ask for an estimate of when they'll be done and plan accordingly. Recently, Chloe has underdone a stressful life change and when I picked her up they were immediately sensitive to her moods and behavior and inquired regarding her home situation. She had some stress wounds, matting and was cranky during her visit. The fact they noticed and inquired, not accusing, about her sudden change in demeanor was comforting and really brought home how important supporting small businesses who truly care about their clients really is. read more

I suppose I should write a review here since my little Noodle-oo is currently serving as their spokes dog in the photos. We both love Scooby Do's. They treat my little butt-faced dog like a prince and are receptive to correcting anything about the cut that I perceive as being weird. Like that funny poofy pompadour. Mohawk it out, yo. Done. In like five seconds my little man was looking fabulous and bad ass. Not something easily accomplished with a prancing pup that literally chases butterflies through tall grasses. (He ended up looking like a little lamb as the cut grew out too. So adorable.) The shampoo they use here is also amazing. Noodles usually smells like tacos (a combination of beef stank and corn chips) but after getting back from the Do's, he smelled like Christmas morning! Sugar and spice and everything nice instead of frogs and snails and puppy dog tails. He's got some gender identity issues to deal with. The pricing is also cheaper than some of the big name conglomerates out there. I'm talking to you Petsmart! I've taken my other pup to Smelly Dog before, but unless I need dog sitting play time after the cut, I'll go with Scooby's. They genuinely seem to like my little Noodle monster. read more

Okay listen. First time I took my dog here they said so was so knatted and needed to be shaved. My sweet baby came out traumatized and was shaking for weeks. I brush her regularly it's just her hair is so fine and thin it gets tangled easily and I get that. Brought her in again with only a Knat on her paw and he told me they were gonna shave her and charge extra for it. Bro what? Stop dog mom shaming and screw you for trying to make extra money by traumatizing my dog. He just wants a quick buck and that's it. This guy literally sucks, don't take your dog here. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Scooby's since 2001. I was one of the original owners first customers. Her name was Stacey and she was awesome. Then, Val took over and she too, was very good. I trusted them with my dogs. They did an excellent job, was pleased with their work. They were friendly and helpful. I would often go get an adjustment at the Chiropractor next door, then workout at Curves and maybe even get a bite to eat at Sub Factory. I felt ease leaving my Seeing Eye dogs with them. Since, some of the business's have closed and others opened. The last time I was and had one of my dogs groomed was back in 2019. That dog retired with a friend of mine and then in 2021 she passed on. I recently got my new Guide dog and took her back to the same groomers. Michael did groom my last dog back in 2019 and it went fine. However, this past Saturday had a much different experience. A lot has changed since Covid. First, one can not sit in their lobby, if they so choose. Not only that, Michael and the other groomer will tell you that they do not even want you in the Broadway Center there at all while they are grooming your pet. They say, they feel pressure to get the dog groomed and were uncertain wehn each dog will be ready for the pet parents to come back for their dog or cat. I understand that there is no longer seating in their lobby, but to tell me that I can not go to another business and stay in close proximity of Scooby's. This was the case, even after I told him that I would have to take two busses or take an uber to go back home. And, then, later, take another hour to ride two busses or spend more resources to return hours later to pick up my Guide Dog. He suggested that I could set up an express appointment so my dog could be finished early in the day. That still did not solve my issue of where to go wehn I'm waiting 3 or 4 hours formy dog to be groomed. What really bothers me is that he was telling me that I can not hang out at the mall there and wait which is reasonable to me especially knowing that I'm blind and can not drive. I did set up another appointment at the time, but later, was more upset about the dialogue I had with Michael and that he was inconsiderate of my situation , was disrespectful and was not reasonable and show some flexability and not give me a hard time for wanting to stay nearby while I waited. I have never pressured the groomers to do their job . I gave them the time they needed to groom my dogs.He was being rather insensitive in my opinion. That takes nerve to tell someone they can not frequent another business while he or she waits. At that point, I felt like I could not trust them nor feel comfortable to go back. My dogs are special and I want them to have the best care. Last, the other business's could possibly be losing customers / business during the time Pet Parents are leaving their pets with the groomers. This little strip Mall is a mile east of I10 and gets lots of traffic. Plus there are business's like Dominos, Connie's Grill, Edible Arrangements and others. This mall has been around since 1985 and Scooby's has been around for years. If you live a distance and or can not drive, don't go here. You will not be welcomed. In addition, they only have one or two groomers and it often will take a while to get your dog or cat in. Since, this incident happened , I have done some research and found another place to take my dog. I know she will have great care and they will not have a problem if I choose to do some other shopping or dine near by. Also, the new Groomer will charge much less and friendly and accommadating. It is with great disappointment that I am writing this review, but it is what it is. I have been taking my dog here for well over 3 years, but was incredibly disrespected at her appointment today. We scheduled for a 10am, arrived for that time only to find out that we had been booked incorrectly for 11am. We were told she would be finished around 2:30-3pm so we dropped her off as usual. Come 3pm she had not even been placed on the table for her grooming. We are now told she will be ready around 3:30-3:45pm. So we leave and come back. At 3:47pm, my dog is STILL not done, and she is on the table literally GASPING and struggling to pant/breathe. She was not given a single drop of water, despite it being over 107 degrees outside and her being stuck there for 6 HOURS. The owner then had the nerve to say, "Oh well if you have any tips on how I can groom her quicker please share with me". HOW RUDE! Is that how loyal customers should be treated??? Let alone, why would you watch a dog struggle to breathe like that and not think to offer her some water when it is over 107 degrees out even after admitting the shop was a little warm??? To make things even worse, he had the audacity to say we should find a new groomer for the future because how dare we be unhappy about the situation. You really think we would want to return after this?? HA! read more

I was surprised when the owner tolled me the cut for my dog coco was free, because coco was nervous of the scissors or even the dryers, so he couldn't get much done, which is better than scarring my dog (it was coco first time to a groomer), I'm not mad they still got coco a bath he was very apologetic which is why I'm giving it a 5 start review. My little chihuahua got a great toenail clip. I loved that they had the electric file and we're able to file the nails super short. My small little doggie loves to hang on my neck and chest while we're driving so he can see out the window! So that's how I can tell when it's time for nail trim since my neck gets clawed up. I"m new to the area and took our Irish setter Hulk Hogan in this past weekend for a haircut, bath and nail trim. I'm not sure what type of shampoo that they use but my dog smelled better than he ever has when I picked him up. I noticed recently his skin was flaking a little after moving locally and they offered a medicated wash which I absolutely love and feel was therapeutic for Hulk. The staff was very friendly and it's conveniently located by ASU. Michael cut Hulk just the way I asked because I don't like to get him shaved down just a little bit touched up here and there. I love Scooby Do's! When I bring in my yelping dog (and her bark could break glass) they accept her with open arms and patient hearts. Somehow the staff there endures 3+ hours of ear mutilation, and when I return for her, she smells sweet, is softy and shiny white and she no longer rubs her behind on the floor. They never complain about her and even feign affection when I bring her in. The entire staff is very friendly, they do a proper papillon cut and their prices are lower than Petsmart. This kind of place is a dying breed! Sweet, loving staff is always excited to see my Little Monster, even if she isn't as excited to see them (she loves her stink!) Locally owned, there are always familiar faces and they get to know each of their clients. It is so easy to drop my baby off and know exactly what she will look like (ridiculously precious) when I pick her up. They don't check medical records, but as someone who regularly vaccinates and has check-ups for her pet, I kind of like not having to track down all the records every 6 weeks. The dogs are kept separate and I know I take excellent care of my dog's health so I am not concerned. Cheap too! On average about $20 cheaper than Petco or Petsmart, and this includes wash, cut, dry, nails and frilly bows! The price does vary every time I go in, but I think it is because I have a weirdo looking mutt that falls somewhere between fancy Lhasa Apso hair and wash-no-go wiry hair. Not sure if this is the sort of place you want to take you AKC competitive show dog, but if you are looking for people who LOVE dogs regardless of breed or make-up, this place is for you! read more

This place is amazing, they do a great job and it's owner operated which is a plus because the stand by there work. I have a long hair chihuahua and they give him a lion cut and he looks like the king of the living room jungle. Ive been coming here about 5 times now and the cuts are consistently great!!! Called and some guy quoted my services for $5 for my German shepherd ear cleaning and $5-10 for a trim on my golden retrievers butt feathers. Went in the next day and some lady did just those and was very easy going about it. She charged me what another guy quoted me. I like the consistency and this place was so much cheaper than the other quotes I was getting. At least $40 cheaper compared to other competitors since all I wanted was these simple services. Amazing service. The owner will come in before the shop opens to groom my sketchy dog. The owner will be patient and kind with my dog until she tries to bite her face off. Then she will just muzzle her and finish as quickly as possible. My dog always ends up with a shave, trim, wash and dry. Once we have been able to put bows in her hair. I pay $60 for my chow mix. I don't think they care about vaccinations at all... never been asked. I have to stay with the dog and groomer then entire time but maybe after enough visits I will be able to leave her?!
