Kristen does the best job ever with my dogs. I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Been with her for many years.

Love love love bringing my 2 girls here! (8+ visits) Staff: so polite, understanding, professional, and you can tell how much they LOVE dogs! They have always understood exactly what we want and have executed perfectly every time! Facility: it's small and personal so your dog isn't in a back room for hours Rate/Time: generally only takes 1.5-2hrs for a full bath and groom and the rates are very reasonable My dogs: I have a tiny spunky Maltese-Yorkie mix. PetSmart kept saying how difficult she was because she was too excited and they would take at LEAST 5 hours to groom her meaning they would leave her in the back room for long periods of time. Not at Bark Avenue! Other than a little wiggle here and there they had no problem grooming her and making her look beautiful! Then we have our fluff ball Yorkie-Poodle mix who is generally terrified of other people and dogs so I knew I would never bring her to PetSmart. After a couple visits at Bark Avenue, she has started to relax and is even giving kisses and wags! Thank your Kristen and team for taking such good care of our baby girls! read more

Took my dog here to get his nails clipped after my vet and two other groomers attempted and failed to trim them. He's a sweet angel at home but freaks out so much during nail trims that it's not possible to get it done without him hurting himself. The two women that work here didn't give up on him and recommended a mild sedative before bringing him in. On their recommendation, today my beautiful Bubba got his nails trimmed successfully and they treated him so well. Quick and easy, they are absolute rock stars. I am such a picky princess when it comes to dog grooming. I've gone through 6 groomers here in Phoenix before finding Kristen at Bark Avenue. My elderly dog gets exactly what I specify for his allergy-prone skin and coat. My younger dog was so traumatized by the last groomer before Kristen that we couldn't get near his paws and the fur was matting badly. She cleans both of them up exactly as I request and neither one freaks out about going for grooming appointments anymore. read more

We started to use Bark Avenue since it was right next door to our Vet. We have our Australian Shepherds shaved during the hotter months and Kristen has always done a great job. Also the price is very fair and the service is prompt. I can't recommend her highly enough. read more

I absolutely adore this place! I have a 55 pound golden doodle who is perhaps the biggest baby in the world. She freaks out if I leave her and I can imagine she's a bit tough to groom. But the staff at Bark Ave is fantastic! They are always so warm and welcoming to my pup which puts my dog at ease and provides me peace of mind. I also love that they take care of her right away rather than having to leave her there all day. I actually feel comfortable leaving her there, which says a lot about this place. But what about the actual grooming??? Well that's great too! We tried other places and were always unhappy but figured that's just how it had to be. Here they listen to what you want done. I was told at other places that my dog just had to be shaved because of mats, but now I know those other places were just lazy. Here, they take the time to brush out her mats. Our pup always looks great when pick her up!!! Honestly, every time we go there we are happier than the last time!!! The care they give to our dog is second to none and we are so glad to support a local ahwatukee business. read more

I started taking our Multipoo to Bark Avenue when we moved to Ahwatukee last year. I'm very pleased with the service we received and will continue to be a client. There have been times when they've needed to reschedule and you don't always get an answer when you call, but this is a small salon with only 2 employees so I cut them a little more slack. I trust them with my girl and I feel like she is in good hands. read more

I've taken Abby to Bark Avenue a couple of times and was sort of pleased with Kristin's work. It was never great, but she seems to be good with dogs and she was close by. However, she never returns phone calls and I've left many messages. I could only get an appointment if I happened to catch her or another employee who answered the phone. The last time, Abby came home with her cute Havanese head buzzed way too short, but practically nothing taken off her body. And every mat that I took her in with was still there when I took her home. I called later in the day to explain what had happened and left a detailed message with her assistant. No one ever called me back. I think we are through. read more

I have been taking my dog for grooming to Kristen for many years. When I pick Yancy up, she always looks so good. Yancy really loves going to see Kristen! When we get there she walks in and jumps right up on the table to be cut. I believe that Kristen's prices are reasonable too! I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

This place is great! They treat my dogs with such love and care, you can tell they really love animals. My dogs are pretty special needs, deaf, with bad hips, has some growths, etc. and they are always understanding and gentle with them. Their prices are great and they do a fantastic job! I ALWAYS check Yelp when looking for recommendations for services I'm needing done. I saw Bark Avenue and found a "Poor Review" that was left for them that concerned me, but I understand that differences occur in business. I called Bark Avenue and Kristen answered. I inquired as to the price and services available to Groom my Airedale. She gave me a price that just BLEW other places away. However, again I was concerned about the Bad Review and therefore asked Kristen about it. As is ALWAYS true... There are 2 sides to every story, and the explanation she gave me was right UP FRONT about it. Not as if she was trying to HIDE anything. After being in the Service Industry for YEARS, I've come to realize... Some people you can't SATISFY for ANY reason. The reviewer in question, never seemed to have any luck getting hold of Kristen at all. Every time I called, SHE would answer the phone. I called THREE days in a row at different times and got hold of her EVERY TIME, so I don't understand NOT being able to get hold of her. So we decided to give Kristen a try... Afterall, it IS my DOG she's clipping, and therefore I didn't at ALL expect the talent of "Rolf's Salon & Spa" in the first place. But we took the chance and we SURE are happy that we did. When we picked him up, he looked GREAT and boy was he PROUD! I would HIGHLY recommend Bark Avenue Pet Salon as well as Kristen to OTHER consumers. She DID what she said she'd do and my Airedale and I both GUARANTEE you that WE will definitely use her services again. Do yourself a favor and make THIS your last call to a groomer! read more

I was so excited to take my dog and cat to Bark Ave. I was referred to this place from Facebook and when I called Kristen she was so nice! She took extra time talking to me and when I got off the phone i knew I had found the new place. However, when I walked in to pick them up I just about cried!! My cat was not finished. She said she was "aggressive" but I have been shaving her for years and everyone tells me how well behaved she is. She was so butchered! Then my dog was so bad I was embarrassed to even walk outside with him. The first comment we got was "it looks like a lawn mower ate you up!" He had patches all over, his tail wasn't shaved, he still has long patches on his belly! I was mortified. She did offer to put him back on the table but she already said she worked very hard on him and it was the best she could do so why would I put my dog thru that again!? She was nice and did allow us to leave without paying but I could tell she wasn't happy about that. We had to book another appointment at a different location to get this fixed.
