Our friends introduced us to this gem. They sell beer and ice cream here. The ice cream is so creamy, better than Fosselman's and better than Handel's, in my opinion. The service was great, we had a large party and we all had samples so we could figure out what we wanted to order. The kids loved the clean store. They even had an analog, vintage marquee that the kids went crazy for because the little letters, numbers and colors would flap around every so often. I saw on a FB group that a lot of people were recommending this place for delicious ice cream. I've never been to Downtown Covina and so I didn't realize how cute the area was until I paid a visit to Scoops on Tap! Immediately upon entering, the employees explained the different sections of the menu to us and shared their recommendations. After sampling many ice creams, I got a small cup with Banana Caramel Crunch and the boyfriend got a Butterbeer milkshake. I wish they had a flavor that was very pungently lemony as that's my favorite, but they're always rotating new flavors every month so I'm definitely coming back. They also have beer on tap and wine. Best non dairy ice cream I've ever had AND my partner, who is a trash eating, dairy consuming, junk food eating savant, said their milkshake was the best milkshake they've ever had in their entire life ... but guess what guys, it had ALMOND MILK in it! Not DAIRY MILK! My partner was originally all sorts of fussy because I brought them here for a celebratory milkshake but they ran out of whole milk. But when the servers allowed us to try each one of their flavors without complaint, my partner was willing to give them a try. Another great find, thanks to fellow yelper, Leonard A. I'm just disappointed this place isn't closer to me. I would have to say this is my favorite ice cream place at the moment. This place also serves craft beer and wine, some of which are used in its alcohol infused ice cream flavors. It has rotating flavors and they are broken down into four main categories - Signature Series, Spirit Infused, Plant Based, and Keto Incognito. Staff will let you sample flavors before you buy, but I just decided to go straight with Taster Flight, which comes with four ice creams of your choice. I got Strawberries & Cream and Alfajores from the Signature Series, and Mexican Mocha and Bourbon Pecan Pie from the Spirit Infused Series. Alfajores was just insanely good. It's a combination of honey, fig jam, walnuts, shortbread, and dulce de leche. It had a very rich, sweet taste in a good way. I could barely detect any alcohol in the Mexican Mocha and Bourbon Pecan Pie, but it might have been due to eating Alfajores first. They were still very good. Mexican Mocha had a a spicy bite at the end, and flavor was quite unique compared to other Mexican mocha items I had at other places. This one tasted like it had cinnamon, allspice, cayenne pepper, and few other ingredients. Staff members were awesome. Everyone was energetic, helpful, and friendly. I am going to be back very soon. I was greeted when I walked in, given samples and they brought the ice cream to me outside. Why 3 stars? Well to me, their flavors are limited. By the way, nothing traditional here. The worker informed me it's because they dont want to serve anything you can get anywhere else. Fair enough. Now the reason it's called "on tap" is because some of their flavors are infused with alcohol. Clever. I don't drink or care for alcohol. So, I don't care too much about those flavors. I got the four flavor sampler ($9 or so) and I got a two scoop of two flavors. I can't remember what they were. So sorry for not writing that down. All the flavors I picked were good. Except the strawberry one. One flavor I got that was really good was the bourbon pecan. No bourbon. No pecans. But still good. Free sugar cone with yelp check in btw. Again, I'm not a hater. This place just didn't wow me. A well deserved 3 stars for me. Not mad or upset. But when it comes to ice cream, I prefer "Afters", "Handels" and believe it or not, "Rite Aid". Before this place opened up, I had been able to try them at breweries and farmers markets. The ice cream was always good. When I saw they were opening in Downtown Covina, I hoped they would get enough business. And I'm glad to see they do! Every time I've been the tables have been packed and there is a constant flow of people. I've never had to really wait long for my ice cream even when there's a line. The employees are always super welcoming, helpful, and patient while we figure out what flavors we'd like. I like that the flavors rotate each month, but they do keep some there all the time like strawberry (which is really good). So funny thing happened. I came here for some ice cream and ended up having a nightcap. Yes besides having great ice cream options there is alcoholic beverage options too. A small but good variety of beer and wine to be exact. Like I said I came in to try the ice cream but was sold on trying the beer slushie. My wife had the beer float which was blended with the strawberries and cream flavor. Its a unique way of bringing these two together in one place. The girl was very informative and she helped the teens to understand the menu. The place has seating inside and outside and all was clean. They have a bar section. I was pretty disappointed to find that I went there with one thing in mind (what they are known for) and they didn't have any of it. The individual at the register was giving me change and went through their tip jar to find singles so that I could tip instead of giving me two fives. They couldn't so they slammed the jar back in front of me. I was talking to my friend and yes, complaining about the experience... the employee was over hearing and commented on our conversation, super unnecessary. My friend was happy with the ice cream, and I've been before and was content once too, but this experience was just plain rude. The flavors rotate monthly and are always diverse. You can tell they put a lot of thought into their creations. Even though the flavors change often, the new ones are always so good that you're not sad about the old ones being gone. I really love their Golden Crunch waffle cone. I'm not sure what they do to it but it's addicting and a cut above your standard cone. The staff is always super patient and thorough while offering samples and explaining the flavors.
