This wrap exceeded my expectations. The coffee was really amazing too and the cashier was really helpful and nice. Loved the whole experience! They do get busy but it's worth it.
Came on a Saturday morning, around 10:30am and the line wasn't too bad yet! 11am was when it started to pick up. We got the Caesar wrap and a panini and both were super solid. The drinks were good too but on the sweeter side. I really liked the Strawberry Vanilla Latte but it was slightly grainy on the bottom if that's something that bothers you. Overall, I would definitely come back for the wrap and try their other menu items. While there's typically a line, most people take it to go so there is a lot of outdoor seating to enjoy your meal :)
Located in the shopping plaza of West Covina, so there is an abudants of parking. Went in early and boy was this place packed! They have a variety of things on the menu, from meals, to desserts and drinks. We got their steak wrap, it was alright. Nothing too specail in my opinion. Their drinks on the other hand are pretty good, but might be too sweet for many. I can't wait to come back and try their coffees!
It was super busy when I got there. The line was literally to the door and stayed like that the whole time, plus there were tons of takeout orders being called out. There's an entrance from inside the mall and another from outside, which is convenient. Because of how packed it was, the place felt very crammed, and there honestly weren't many indoor seats available. They did have some outdoor seating though. They also have a huge variety of drinks and pastries/food, which I liked. I didn't really interact with the staff much since everyone was clearly hustling. I got the triple shot iced Americano and let me tell you... it was STRONG in the best way. Had me feeling like the energizer bunny for real I also got my brother an iced matcha, and he said it was super sweet.
I tried café valet on a random tuesday due to all the hype and wanted to see what it was all about. I have always passed by this spot in the mall however it never caught my attention enough to try. Even on a weekday it was still jam packed with a line almost out the door. The cafe is tiny with barely any space to move and with most of the seating being outside. As soon as it was my turn to order, I was told food would be a 30-45 minute wait. I decided to stick to out since I was already there. I had the blackberry tea, a slice of chocolate cake, and the "viral" chicken Caesar wrap. The tea was delicious and a pretty big size for the price. Both the wrap and the cake were mediocre for me, especially considering all the hype surrounding it. I don't believe this place is worth the price or the wait.
Had a great sandwich today! When I walked in, the place was packed with hungry customers. I ordered a ham and cheese on toasted sourdough sandwich. They brought it out to me quicker than expected, as I waited outside on their nice little patio with red umbrellas. The sandwich was packed full with ham and sharp cheddar cheese. The mustard and pickles really made for a satisfying flavor explosion, while the sourdough bread was lightly toasted and super fresh! I can't wait to come back!
Came on a Sunday late afternoon!! Ordered the mango habanero panini and spicy Cesar chicken wrap! There was a 20 min wait time but we walked around the mall to pass time so it was okay! Got back and our food was ready! The açaí was free since they made an extra Honestly, so awesome ! Icing on the cake to the whole dining experience! The Cesar wrap went viral which is why I chose it but the panini was far tastier! :) l'd definitely go back for the food, and suuuuuuuper kind service!
A modern take on the classical interior design, located at the back of the mall. Plenty of seating for all to sit and enjoy your meal with a drink with classic music played in the background. The staff is friendly and fast with their service. I ordered the White Chocolate Hazelnut Latte which was rich, smooth and creamy, and not too sweet.
I had a good experience at Cafe Valer (West Covina). I ordered the Honey Vanilla Latte ($6.75 - Large - 20oz - hot). Its caffeine is uplifting, resilient, and soft. The taste is smooth, comparable to foamy hot cocoa. It's a hot, lightly-sweetened, & tasty coffee. I arrived at Cafe Valer (West Covina) on Friday (around 9AM - opening time). Parking is easy since this storefront faces the West Covina Mall Parking Structure. Staff is professional, hard working, and welcoming. Staff (receipt says Rosalva) answered all my questions. In addition, Rosalva quickly assisted when I noticed a problem. The Honey Vanilla Latte was being charged 25 cents more in the system; the default register price did not match the posted menu. Thankfully, Rosalva tactfully fixed the issue and expressed thanks for the observation. Another male staff member even offered more apologies and offered a quarter which was a kind gesture. To my immense surprise, Cafe Valer (West Covina) is very popular. Since 9AM, a non-stop flow of customers kept arriving. I observed police officers, nurses, mall employees, families, and couples pour into this small business. Cafe Valer (West Covina) gave the immediate impression of a local community hotspot. Staff is also alert. After one table had dropped small bits of trash on the floor, Staff quickly appeared with a broom to clean. Despite the many customers, Staff stayed focused and diligent. When ready, Staff calls the customer's name for "drink pick up." My drink took four minutes and 13 seconds. Good pace. As mentioned, I enjoyed the Honey Vanilla Latte ($6.75 - Large - 20oz - hot). This coffee is not bitter nor overly sweet. Its top is fluffy while its liquid is smooth and hot. It's a pleasant soft coffee roast flavor with an aftertaste of honey. Although its caffeine is not potent, there's a gentle, welcomed amount. Concerning ambiance, Cafe Valer (West Covina) is old, but it's clean. Its appearance is a hybrid between a hospital cafeteria and Grandma's cafe. The interior is small. There's about four small glass tables inside, but they're worn-down with age. There's a couple more tables outside. The floors are very clean, and the interior is well-ventilated. Cafe Valer (West Covina) lacks electrical outlets. After searching, I found only one electrical outlet on the outside patio near a table with cobwebs. This small business also gets Free Wifi Internet from the West Covina Mall (aka: Plaza West Covina). This small business has no restroom, and the music is very loud. Powerful, booming Christmas music echoed throughout this location. If I were to nitpick, it's also strange how there's a big analog clock that doesn't show the correct time too. Overall, I had a good experience at Cafe Valer (West Covina). It's definitely a welcoming atmosphere where people can loudly chat or order-and-leave. I appreciated my Honey Vanilla Latte ($6.75 - Large - 20oz - hot). If nearby, I recommend. 4.6 out of 5
Decided to give this place a try because of TikTok and it didn't disappoint! The cafe is inside the mall but there's an outdoor entrance. I ordered the Spicy Caesar Wrap on a spinach tortilla. I asked the worker for a side of caesar dressing and they were more than happy to give me one. I would say I definitely needed the dressing and wouldn't be able to just eat it as is. There wasn't much seating inside or outside because of how busy it was. We had to take it togo and eat it elsewhere. We went during the afternoon and it was extremely packed. I would say we waited about 40 minutes for this. I did see a lot of people ordering from the cafe! I would go again to try the drinks.
Tried this place after a friend sent me a tik tok. It's nice to know this is an option nearby. I pop into this mall occasionally and always want something cafe like. Had the spicy chicken caesar wrap and it was tasty. I saw a lot of people with paninis so will try one next time. The place is small and there were a lot of people. Not a lot of seating. Happy to see their business is thriving.
Probably one of the best local Cafes in the area. Cafe Valer offers everything from coffee, teas, sandwiches, omelettes and breakfast. The place itself isn't too large but also offers an outdoor patio for dining. The service here is friendly, but note that it's very busy at times so be prepared to wait. I usually get the egg white energy burrito for a post workout meal.
Finally had a chance to try this coffee place out, I have heard mixed reviews so I wanted to check it out for myself. It was very busy I waited for about 10 min before anyone acknowledged I was standing there waiting to order even though there were a few young lady's behind the counter doing things a simple acknowledgment would of been nice instead of ignoring me. A gentleman finally took my order he seemed very overwhelmed I felt rushed I paid and waited another 10 min for my coffee they forgot to give me my dessert so i had to wait again finally received it. I found a seat to try everything Coffee was okay I ordered a salted banana cream latte was very strong coffee tasting no banana I also ordered a white raspberry cheesecake that was good Overall I don't think I would go back it's a bit overpriced for what I got and I completely understand that it was busy but customer service was very lacking

My wife and I stopped by Cafe Valer on a Sunday morning and were thoroughly impressed. The menu is extensive, the service is fast and friendly, and the entire space--inside and out--is spotless and well-kept. We grabbed a table on the patio under the umbrellas. Portions are generous and the food is outstanding. My wife ordered the Chipotle Breakfast Avocado Panini with a Raw Sugar Caramel Shaken Iced Oat Milk Latte, and I had the Steak & Egg Burrito with a Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Everything was packed with flavor. We were too full to try dessert, but that just gives us an excuse to return :D This is easily my new go-to lunch spot whenever I'm in the West Covina area. Severely overrated, omg. Wife and I came in for a sandwich and boy was this place underwhelming. First red flag we noticed is that they use Lavazza machines for their coffee drinks. Lavazza might as well be the sugary gimmicks Starbucks can pull off on their best days. You're paying for the name, not the quality of your drinks. Next red flag was the counters behind the 'baristas.' They were stocked with buckets of sugary ingredients like some store bought cookie butter stacked on top of some other store bought 'dubai' butter. That seemed a bit unsanitary and, frankly, kinda sloppy. Last red flag were the sad, sauce-soaked paninis we got. In fact, they were probably the worst paninis we've ever had. Our chicken chipotle avocado panini was drenched in what clearly tasted like store-bought chipotle sauce and the chicken just tasted like reheated chopped breasts (I mean I wouldn't blame them, they're a cafe, not a kitchen.) The mango habanero panini was even worse in that it was more drenched in what also tasted like store-bought habanero sauce, making the panini a dripping mess. But the choice of using what tasted like candied dried mango slices in the sandwich was awful. The flavors just did not marry and it's likely because this is what happens when you have a great idea, but use crap and cheap ingredients to craft something. Maybe they are better known for some other dishes, but the fact that they use store-bought sauces on their sandwiches is pretty tacky. Overall, this place is all hype and no heart. Just a steady flow of clout-chasing customers akin to those that frequent Starbucks as part of a lifestyle. Don't fall for the hype. It's okay to not like something that the masses do. read more

Just wanted to see what this cafe was about with all the rave reviews... We were coming in from Vegas and this was our stop. Cute cafe with lots of brunch options and drinks. Service was excellent which is why they get the stars but the food was MEH. My husband got the grilled garlic pesto panini...he was not fan of the red peppers...it didn't really have the pesto and he didn't like the red peppers... I think you don't need the peppers for this to be honest. Also he said he couldn't taste garlic. I was looking forward to my spicy chicken Cesar wrap but it was not good. The chicken was more loaded on one side, the avocado on the other side and I couldn't even taste the Cesar dressing...the lettuce was taking over the whole wrap. I felt cheated on my chicken. Goodness why did I even tip. Drinks were pretty good though. The cucumber tea was delish and my husband liked his latte. I'm still hungry after eating a lettuce wrap.:| Great location though. It also can get busy and the wait can be ridiculous. read more

I've been to Cafe Valer a few times now and it's always good. Conveniently located right by an entrance to the West Covina mall, this is a great place to go for lunch or a quick coffee right after your shopping trip. The interior isn't very big and they're always super busy, so sitting outside might be preferable. I love that they have several options for vegetarians, and they have a big beautiful pastry case that you can't help but stare at as you wonder which sugary concoction you'll delight yourself with . Their coffee is consistently good and they usually have seasonal flavors. Today I tried an iced hazelnut white mocha and it was really good. Also shoutout to the guy on espresso bar today, he had my drink ready before I even got to the register to pay for it. My friend and I also recently tried their vanilla bean latte and a seasonal banana latte they have, both being really good. I've had both their vegetarian panini and their black bean hummus avocado wrap and they're both great choices. Today I also tried their white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and it was perfect. Not overly decadent but enough to satisfy your sweet tooth and then some. This one is also great for sharing as it's a little bigger than the other cheesecake slices. This is a really nice spot to come and catch up with friends or family and service is always good. They may not always seem as cheery, but I can chalk that up to the fact that they're always going nonstop. I've never had someone be rude to me. read more
Cafe Valer is located in West Covina Mall. It is in the middle between JC Penny and Macy's. They have limited indoor seating and outdoor patio. The place was very clean with cozy vibes. The menu includes breakfast options, salads, wraps, combo of salad and sandwich, deli sandwiches, panini, pizzas, açai bowls, numerous drinks and desserts. The hostess was very nice. We placed our order and they called my name when it was ready. We got the following; - Chicken ranch club 5/5 Chicken breast, bacon, mozzarella, tomato, toasted peppers, and ranch dressing. It was warm, juicy, and had generous fillings. It was well seasoned. - Vegetarian panini 5/5 Had Black beans, mushrooms, tomato, avocado slices, sundried tomato & garlic sauce, roasted peppers, and jack cheese. It was warm, savory, had multi-layered and generous fillings. It was really delicious. - mango cheesecake bar 5/5 -2 apricot bar 5/5 -Creme brulee cheesecake 5/5 The desserts were outstanding, rich, buttery, and very flavorful. -2 cappuccino 3/5 It was not creamy or had the rich taste of cappuccino. I only tasted strong espresso. Definitely, I will go back but I wil try other drinks. The food was excellent and the service was fast. read more

One of the influencers I follow Hungry4Munchies posted about this cafe and I had to try. There was a line coming in and the wait was about 10 minutes. I ordered their mango Caesar avocado salad with chicken half size and it was a pretty good portion. It was tasty with fresh ingredients. They have a huge menu. I noticed a lot of people dined in for their hot paninis and others ordered their drinks. This place looks pretty popular inside the West Covina mall. I'll be back to try more of their salads! read more
I was visiting this area for work, and this spot at the mall was highly recommended. Apparently it blew up as a hidden gem on TikTok recently...which does explain the wait time. Everyone was nice. The cashier answered my few questions. I went at 1:30p, which is late lunch imo. They were not understaffed, but the staff lacked a sense of urgency. After a 25 minute wait, I got my sandwich; I did not have time to snap a picture bc I had 5 minutes left of my break. Now every single beverage was quick, fast, ready!!!! It's a small spot at a mall, so my expectations were as expected! Clean space, minimal seating, but the outside area is nice. My turkey, spinach, and avocado sandwich was yummy. I did not know what to expect because the menu that's posted has minimal description and so does the Yelp post. read more

I've little cafe at the West Covina mall. Quaint, with al fresco seating . Seating is limited so make sure you have a back up plan if you cannot find a seat. We got a breakfast panini and it was delicious! Their sauce is yum!!!! I wish they would bottle it up so i can take some home. read more

I've been going to this mall for ages and have always wanted to try this place. I finally decided to and now i need to try all of their items! The matcha tasted like a sugar cookie! So yummy! It's right by the parking garage so it's perfect for a quick work lunch pick up. The sandwich was toasty and crunchy and so flavorful with the chipotle and black beans. Okay so this cute little cafe in West Covina mall is brilliant. Amazing and plentiful food options - healthy too, alongside great coffee options as well. And all reasonably priced. Only $10 for the Fit Chicken Avocado panini is crazy! Service was great too. Kind, attentive and got my stuff out to me pretty quick. Seating is tricky inside but there's more outside. Spanish Caramel Latte with Fit Chicken Avocado Panini - both soooooo good. Highly recommend read more
Been coming here for years but have never reviewed this cafe. This is actually my favorite spot to come and grab a coffee or any food or meals. I was very hesitant to post a review since this place is ALWAYS packed but at least here is Plenty of parking for this place. Located at the West Covina mall, this little cafe has a lot to offer. My favorite drink is the caramel Spanish latte. 10/10 I've had most of their paninis and I enjoyed every single one of them so far. They also have so many healthy meals I'm at awe at how they can manage so many orders in one little spot. Service here is good considering how small and packed this place gets. I've always had the best service. Highly recommend this place. Expect your food to take 10 min or so BUT it is worth the wait. read more
It's alright. Idk about the hype. I would give it a 3.5 if I could. The sandwiches were solid. It took a little while to get the food and it wasn't even busy. I can't imagine when they're slammed. I also got the latte with the strawberry cold foam. It tasted just like a Neapolitan ice cream. It was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Also, Portos is on the other side of the mall so you know.... That's tough to beat read more

The cafe is small with limited seating outside and even more limited seating inside. I got a steak panini and a strawberry cold foam matcha. Both were heavenly! I forgot my laptop at one of my meetings the previous day and it's about 45 minutes from my home area so I decided to work remote at this Cafe after I picked my laptop up. They've got free parking ( West Covina Mall,) Free WiFi, and about a dozen tables in total, from inside & outside. One note I will mention is that the restrooms are about half a mile away into the mall but the staff here gave me reassurance that I can leave my belongings here while I went to the restroom I snagged a seat next to one of the power outlets and shoutout to the main guy there (possibly the owner) making recommendations. I ended up ordering an iced matcha latte with strawberry cream to start off and then later on in the day I ordered 1/2 Garlic Chicken Pesto Panini & 1/2 Mango Habanero Chicken Panini. Iced Matcha latte with strawberry sweet cream 5/5 Their sweetened matcha I has great flavor and the strawberry sweet cream was the perfect touch to add that strawberry flavoring to the whole drink. Surprisingly the drink stayed cold the whole time I was there from 12:30 until about 7 or so. Mango habanero chicken panini 5/5 The mango habanero sauce was the perfect amount of sweet and spicy and the bread they use, PERFECT balance of crunchy & soft, not the type that scrapes the top of your mouth, spice rating 2.5/5 on my heat scale, it also had slices of Jalapeño in it along with cream cheese I believe? I think the 1/2 panini was the perfect amount otherwise it might've been too spicy if I had a whole panini of only mango habanero. Garlic pesto chicken panini 4/5 Don't get me wrong this panini was fire but the garlic overpowered the pesto. I love pesto and I'd 100% order this again. Once again the bread was crunchy, soft, and light. This one had Parmesan sprinkled on top of the bread with bell peppers and onions along with the garlic pesto chicken. Overall this spot is a great place to eat, grab a drink, and to do remote work from. Plenty of staff from other places in the mall were stopping by here to grab a bite whether they were getting off a shift or on their lunch break. They did get a couple rushes throughout the day around 2ish and 5ish so the line got decently long but they're pretty quick with their prep. Good stuff y'all! read more

Lord! I'll be the first to admit that I used to hate when my coworkers told me they were ordering from this place. I just didn't get the hype. However, after making a few tweaks to my order, I completely changed my mind. Let's talk about it. I tried their sirloin steak wrap with no black beans and extra cayenne sauce. It was amazing in every way. The steak was flavorful, the wrap was filling, and the extra cayenne sauce took it to another level. I also ordered their vanilla bean latte with strawberry cold foam. Let me be very clear, this is one of the best cups of coffee West Covina has to offer. It wasn't overly sweet, and everything was perfectly balanced. As someone who normally leans toward Vietnamese coffee, this was a pleasant surprise and a treat of flavor. On another visit, I tried their spicy chicken Caesar wrap. The young lady helping me suggested removing the buffalo sauce, and she was absolutely right. It was delicious. I also ordered a cheesecake that somehow never made it to my table. Normally that would bother me, but honestly, the food and service were so good that I didn't even care. That just gives me another reason to come back. 2 Stars - Pretty presentation, but not worth the drive. I drove from West LA to West Covina to finally try Cafe Valer after seeing it hyped up everywhere (especially for their paninis). I went around 1pm -- it was busy but the wait wasn't bad. There was actually a lot of staff on for the amount of business, so service itself wasn't the issue. I really wanted to like this spot. It's cute, food photographs really well, and I could see why people consider it a potential lunch date spot. The aesthetic is definitely there. Unfortunately... the flavor just wasn't. I ordered the steak and mushroom panini, and while it looked great, it was overwhelmingly cheesy. The cheese completely dominated the sandwich, and the steak quality didn't stand out. For something they're supposedly known for, it felt pretty average. It looked better than it tasted. I also ordered a veggie salad that skipped the feta -- which maybe would have helped -- but as served, it was basically mixed greens and nuts tossed together. It came laid out on a piece of brown parchment paper inside a red plastic fry basket. The presentation felt more styled than thoughtfully composed, and flavor-wise it was pretty lackluster. For drinks, we had dragonfruit lemonade and passion fruit (unsweetened), which is fine, but they didn't have honey available to adjust sweetness -- kind of surprising for a café. Some of the desserts looked great, but after the meal didn't really deliver, I decided to skip them. I love supporting local businesses, and I understand the influencer appeal -- it's very photogenic. But if I'm being honest, the food was mid at best. I wouldn't drive out of my way again, and I probably wouldn't come back unless I was already at the mall. Don't believe the hype -- aesthetics can't carry the whole experience. read more

I just recently found this hidden gem. I came to the mall to return some shoes (if you know me you know I hate the mall) and my bf recommended we try it for brunch. Oh boy was that the best decision! We got the wrong order, it was a panani with like parm cheese on it and an oat milk iced latte and we shared! Let me just say, I wish I had ordered my own damn panani because we downed it so fast! Service was excellent and they made it super easy to order with ease while it being super busy...I love the patio sitting because now we got there on our bikes and sit down in the patio to enjoy some outdoors. I love it, and have nothing bad to say! Amazing! 10/10 recommend! read more
I started coming here more often the food taste amazing! The staff and owners are super friendly and answer the 100 questions I throw their way! So many options from healthy eating to desserts! I love it and the taste yum! There's indoor and outdoor seating. It's in the mall and easy access through the mall or from outside Place is super chill and they play some music which I enjoyed! Place gets pretty packed sometimes but definitely worth the wait!! read more
