I decided to bring my wife here on a Friday night for dessert after beating her in darts 5 times in a row across the street (soften her up). We live local and I don't know why I haven't been in here before but I've been missing out. First, they don't have just churros, they have ice cream, milkshakes and specialty coffees such as café de olla, Americano, cortado, and flat white to name a few. Churros can be ordered as a box set or individually with various topping choices. The churros were made fresh! They came out warm and crispy with that soft center. We also got 2 milkshakes, one Strawberry Scream and one Peanut Butter Mother Flutter, both tasted amazing!! The ambiance gives you a cafe feel with several people opting to eat their treats in house. The place smells amazing so it's easy to want to stay. As for the service, it was also amazing! Everyone was friendly and willing to assist you and answer questions. The cashier explained that she was going to make the churros fresh so there would be a short wait for them to be ready. The Churro Sundae ($10) is attractive and fairly large; however, its taste is underwhelming. Although it felt like the churros were made-to-order in the backroom, the churros tasted bitter, chewy, and overcooked. These churros also lacked sweetness. Rather, these big churros tasted like chunky breadcrumbs. Fortunately, the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop tasted delicious! It had an addictive crumbly texture. The ice cream also carried a chill and creamy chocolate flavor. Regarding ambiance, Churro Boss (Covina) is lackluster. It feels empty. The only seating is one long counter which had splotchy dried stains and crumbs. The location also has no restroom. Stopped by Churro Boss in Covina on a Sunday to treat myself to a churro and a horchata latte. Not a lot of seating if you wanna hang out there to chill. There weren't too many people in the store, so I figured it'd be quick--but it still took a bit. By the time I finally got my drink and made it halfway back to my car, I realized my "horchata latte" was missing the latte part. Just straight horchata. I didn't bother going back to complain because it was hot out and I wasn't about to walk back for a shot of espresso. The churro was decent--not fresh out of the fryer but not sad either--and the condensed milk dipping sauce was the real MVP. Which is kinda crazy cause it's probably just canned milk. The damage? Had the opportunity to visit Churro Boss while I was in town. The parking is downtown parking so a little bit of patience is required. There is very little seating indoors and no seating available outdoor - this would be my recommendation as there is plenty of space inside for more seating areas to get nice and comfy. The affogato came in a paper cup, which was a little interesting. The churros were nice and warm, with a crispy exterior and really soft interior. They came with 1 sauce on the side, which we decided on a chocolate sauce. Overall, the churros tasted really good and I had not complaints. I felt that the price was fairly steep for the portion. We just stopped here for a date day treat. I ordered a flat white, my husband got an Americano and we split a churro split. Pros are that the churros are super delicious and the ice cream was really good. Three star rating is because when I received my coffee, it felt very light. The menu states that the flat white is supposed to be 12 oz. The cup was only about 1/3 full. I politely asked the lady that made it if that was normal. She was really short with me and said "a flat white is only 2 oz of espresso and 2 oz of milk. That's what that drink is." I was confused by her response and, frankly, questioning my own understanding of espresso drinks and she had a group waiting to order so I just left. After thinking about it and a bit of googling, I realized SHE was the one that is confused. She made me a cortado, which is exactly what she described to me.
