Bought a Vitacci Tank 200 6 months ago and last week, it started making a really high pitched noise like there could be a vacuum leak. Took seat off and there's oil all over the top of the engine. Took side cover off stator and sure enough, black oil caked and looks like head gasket is leaking. I went in today and talked to the owner and first he said it's not under warranty. I reminded him the engine has a 1 year warranty and it's stated right on his receipt. He then said he doesn't work on anything someone else has worked on. I told him I've only done oil changes and that It just turned 500 miles today. He then says he doesn't know how I've been driving it and he is just not going to work on it. I've already filed a complaint with BBB. He will do anything to weasel his way out of doing warranty work. What I don't get is that after 30 days, I have to pay for labor, which I was willing to do but we never got that far. All he would be out are head gaskets. My advice is to stay away from this place. A mechanic tried to replace a brake lever on my kids dirtbike with the wrong size brake lever. He tried prying it into place and broke the whole brake reservoir. The owner of the store then blamed me and said the metal was brittle when I tried to hold them accountable. He then called me an asshole and told me to never come into the store again. Needless to say I definitely won't ever be going to that store again and would advise anybody else to stay away from the place as well. read more

I bought my scooter from them a couple of years ago back when they were located out by the airport, the scooter has ran great ever since I've owned it. As long as you go by the break in sheet they gave me and the scheduled oil changes(did myself only because of their location), since then they moved closer to town and I've had to deal with them 2 or 3 times now, I could not ask for better results. I explained the problem I was having and they told me what was wrong and how to fix it, most places usually tell you to bring it in so they can fix it and charge you up the butt but they were happy to tell me how to do it myself. Went in the other day while Reno has 1 active COVID case in every 50 people yet not a mask to be found here. Even when you walk in wearing one they don't put one on. That is their level of care for their community. No interest to help until you make it clear you are there to buy. 4% charge for using a card, even debit, so a trip to the bank or ATM is required when you get the price. Price was higher than posted online. Ability levels of staff to do the work seem questionable, particularly in common sense. Didn't pay them for a service but they stated it was $200 for a 10 hour service. read more

I have been coming to Scooter City Reno for a few years for parts and advice and never leave disappointed. Everyone is always friendly with me. Today I had them put brand new tires I ordered off of Ebay and they were happy to do it with a discount. I would give them a zero if I could!!! Bought a brand new 2017 youth tao tao quad less than a month ago....my son rode it for 3 hours and the chain stretched beyond the point of adjustment...the frame has bent and and sags down...and then the quad just straight up quit running...took the quad in they put a new spark plug and did an oil change and took a link out of the chain and adjusted the fuel line...they said they have never seen the frame bent like that and had asked if someone big has rode it...my son weighs 47 lbs...but as I picked up the quad the mechanics there said "they" rode the quad and said it was running fine now...and made me ride it and make sure it ran fine before I took it back home...as I recall the weight limit is 80 lbs but ok...my son rode the quad 30 mins down a dirt road and literally in 30 mins the weld on the exhaust broke off the frame was bent more and the mono shock was bent...the whole quad tracks crooked now as well...call scooter city and they say that none of it is covered by warranty and that I need to bring it in yet again so they can take pictures of it and send it to tao tao...this is where I'm at with it right now I will update what happens further!!! I am very pissed and very unhappy with this place and would never recommend this place to anybody!!!! read more

Fast and friendly service at a fair price. If you do a bit of research and know what needs to be done, couldnt be an easier shop to deal with. Took in a scooter for a stubborn stripped bolt and a oil change service and it was ready the same day. Scooter runs completely brand new afterwards. The staff was very helpful and gave tips about local laws and how to maintain properly. Ive been here before and this was the best service and experience ive had. I will continue to come to this shop and recommend it to friends and family. read more

I have been a customer since this shop opened over 14 years ago. They are the go to shop in Reno when it comes to all the China brands Taotao Roketa BMS and the other brands. Purchased a motorcycle, 3 scooters, gokarts for the kids and a side by side over the years. Best prices, service and helpful friendly staff. Not sure if they have new people working there based off past reviews but I had a great experience with the staff here! While I didn't purchase one of their scooters, I did end up bringing in my Honda Ruckus today to see if they could get the variator fan plate off - I had 3 unsuccessful prior days of trying to pry that sh*t off without a single budge. I had already bought all the new parts so I really just needed to get that thing off. Not only were they able to get the plate off, they went ahead and put my new parts in that I had as well. The price for labor was extremely reasonable, especially given I hadn't called ahead or made an appointment. Great service, great attitudes, and a very happy customer here! read more

I went into the Business today an employee was washing the windows I asked about there trikes they carried I seen what I was wanting to look at and asked other question about obtaining a 300cc Was told they did not carry them an he seemed to not know anything every time I asked him a question he had to leave me an ask someone else When I again asked about a 300cc unit all that was told to me they where unsafe at speeds I was never given any information or help it would seem if your not wanting what they have on the floor they will not talk with you Sad because I was willing to purchase a unit from them So now I will go someplace else If you deal with them I hope you have better luck than I did with 5 employees there you would have thought they would have wanted to try and sale something I would not recommend this business to anyone read more

They staff is not very friendly when you walk in. I have a taotao that I have been working on and trying to get parts for and every time I go here its a very quick "what do you need" like I am wasting their time. The smile comes out though when they realize you have money and your wiling to spend it because there are not many other places to go for parts. On that note they seem to want to just sell you whatever you think you need instead of what you really need, they are not very knowledgeable on these parts as well. Or once again tell you what you want to hear so that cash comes out. I recently spent about $250 on getting an upgraded carburetor and manifold that they said I would have no problem getting right in my model. Big surprise, I had nothing but problems getting it in. There was another part to it that I needed to get that no one bothered to tell me about or give me any info on. After calling to get the specs of the carburetor I was told a certain diameter of a uni filter that i need for it. Well because of their horrible hours as in not really open that long at all, I had to go get the part at a motorcycle shop where I invested another 40 dollars all together and come to find out that wasn't even the right size. So once again they don't even seem to have a clue about what they themselves are even selling. So now I am stuck with about 300 dollars in parts which I can't return or exchange and I have a scooter sitting around in pieces. I am dreading having to go back to the oh so friendly staff here for more parts and pieces that do not fit just so I can get my scooter back together and on the road to saving gas again. Very rude, unfriendly, non-helpful staff please someone save the peoples scooters of Reno/Sparks and get some more shops open!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! read more

RUDE AND HEARTLESS !!! My mother and her husband had put a scooter on layaway about 4 months ago. They had already deposited approximately $600 of the $800 in cash, and were planning to pay off the balance this month. Sadly, last week her husband past away unexpectedly. My mother, having no use for the scooter went back to the store to retrieve her much needed money for burial costs. She explained the situation to the manager hoping for understanding. He seemed very disinterested in her story. He stated the that she would have to forfeit $200 due to policy! My mother left the store with just $400. Today I called the store and spoke to the manager to ask why he couldn't make an exception. His tone was very short with me and stated it's just policy. He then hung up the phone on me. I called right back asking him for his name and the number to the corporate office. He said "I can't give you that", and hung up on me again. I understand that the company has a deposit policy, but companies make exceptions everyday. This scooter never left the showroom, and they are still going to sell it for the full amount. Everyone should know that THE MANAGER ONLY CARES ABOUT YOUR MONEY and not the customer! read more
