The cafe is located in the converted historic ROM Webber furniture factory. The Big Four cafe name honors the railroad line that used to pass through town. Courtney, our server, was friendly and attentive. She kept water filled and checked on us frequently. Food came out quickly. I had the Herb and Garlic Chopped salad, which was beautifully plated, fresh and delicious. Romaine, tomatoes, onions were topped with cheese and avocado. The garlicky vinaigrette dressing was tangy. I I also had a cup of the Texas Chili, which was topped with cheese and jalapeño slices. The beef was tender and the soup base slightly spicy. My husband had the Cuban Press (at Courtney's recommendation) and it was tasty and hearty. The sandwich was made using Indiana ham, slowed cooked pork and melted cheese. He said his sandwich was an easy 5 stars. Don't miss the beer battered onion rings which are fresh made and delicious. (I stole a couple of his rings.) There are roomy restrooms with changing tables. Free parking is available in front of the building. Worth a visit.

I noticed the good reviews so we drove an extra 10 minutes which turned out to be a worthwhile decision. Excellent spot for breakfast and the full dining area supports my opinion. I had the breakfast quesadillas which were delicious! My friends had a breakfast combo which she said was excellent. The server was patient and helpful as I vacillated between options. Definitely a two thumbs up experience and worth a drive!

It was delicious, and we've eaten there a few times since and always have a great experience. We both have been wanting to try some of their lunch specials, but we work and can't get there to check it out. We were off today and decided to go there for lunch because they were having chicken and noodles, and that's one of my favorite meals. It did not disappoint at all. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals and even ordered seconds to go, so we could have it for dinner. The chicken and noodles came with mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, and a roll. You could definitely tell the food was homemade too. Delicious! The Farmhouse Diner isn't a very big restaurant and can get pretty busy. It reminds me of a little country diner where all the local farmers and their wives go to eat breakfast and lunch. The staff is always super friendly and attentive too. We will definitely be going back.

They have pancakes the size of a large dinner plate! Service quick! Quiet, friendly atmosphere. Definitely a place to stop. Name changed to Flying Pig Diner. Locals are very friendly. Large back parking lot, room for at least 3-5 big rigs. Worth a stop!

Apparently, Lumpy's is a favorite of the locals. The staff calls the regulars by name. Everyone else is "Honey." I was "Honey." There was a table of regulars drinking coffee and talking politics and shooting the bull. It's a salt of the earth kind of local diner. A table opened up by the door after ten minutes. The menu is filled with comfort food. Most meals under $10. Nothing fancy, omelettes, burgers, sandwiches. Our server was sweet and recommended the tenderloins. The dining room is simple. Chairs and tables and a few booths. On the back wall are old photos of veterans. Local veterans being remembered by the cafe. My husband had the Big Tenderloin (which is award winning) with seasoned fries. The tenderloin was as big as his head. The meat was moist and tender and the breading seasoned well. The fries were crispy thin-cut with a few spices. He ate half the sandwich. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It was also seasoned with a crunchy breading similar to the tenderloin. The meat was moist. The cole slaw was creamy and sweet....delicious. They do a robust business in-house and carry out. If you are looking for avocado toast and and oat milk latte, this is not the place to come. If good old comfort food will suffice, then it just doesn't get better than Lumpy's.

It gives you a warm feeling watching people catching up with each other and just being friendly. And the staff is a huge part of that experience. They will make you feel like a VIP. You might even meet some of the cooks who sometimes deliver the food themselves and the owner who also has a strong presence in the restaurant. So if you are passing through town or antiquing, stop by Lumpy's to experience some small town hospitality. Maybe I'll see ya there.
