I went to Scoozzi for Sour Beef and Dumplings after being prompted by a notification from Yelp. I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is cozy and quaint. The staff were pleasant and professional. Shelly was very helpful and attentive. Tha Sour Beef and Dumplings did not disappoint. Three and a half stars is appropriate for Scoozzi but I rounded up. I recommend Scoozzi and their Sour Beef...

Incredible food. The crab stuffed fish was delicious, perfectly cooked, a huge portion, and the price was insane. I've come here a few times with family and the food ALWAYS hits. 10/10 mom and pop's diner with a bar and a slight hole-in-the-wall or maybe 70's mob vibe. I love it.

Scoozzi's is a great traditional restaurant that you go with your friends and family to have laughs, conversations, and to root for the team on TV---like how you did before people's eyeballs were glued to their phones. I had the Scoozzi Burger and it was super-tasty--you could taste the grains of the ground beef, char-sizzled perfectly to order with a flavor that no fast food could match. The fries could have been homemade but certainly, were not the cheap Sysco bulk fries that so many little places use---and tastes so bland. Service was super hon-friendly, maybe not the most peppiest---but gave you time to enjoy your meal and company. The burger on ran $9; and for a sit-down and get real food place, that is a true bargain. Many of their menu items were priced easy on the wallet. I definitely recommend if you are in the general area, want good food, priced right, in a comfy atmosphere.

Right from the start, our server, Chuck, made us feel welcome. We mentioned a food allergy, and while he wanted to make sure he understood everything correctly, he quickly brought over his manager, Maria, to assist. Maria was incredibly thorough and went above and beyond, even showing me ingredient information to ensure everything was safe. That level of care and attention was greatly appreciated. For dinner, we ordered the Maryland crab soup, which was hearty, thick, and packed with flavor--not watered down at all. We also shared a side salad that was surprisingly huge and fresh. The crab cakes were outstanding, loaded with lump crab meat and served with delicious sides. We also tried the rockfish special, which was almost like a crab cake made with fish--unique, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, but the desserts we saw being served to other tables looked amazing and definitely worth trying on a future visit. Both Chuck and Maria were attentive throughout our meal, and Chuck's friendly, kind personality made the experience even better. Excellent food, outstanding service, and great attention to customer needs. We will absolutely be back the next time we're in Baltimore!

Called to make sure and luckily they had all sizes. So we headed over. It was later so a different vibe with a live music group performing (actually pretty good) the dj playing the rest of the night. As with the last time, the food was fresh, tasty and satisfying. Along getting the crabs, we ordered some calamari and mozzarella dippers to be our sides. I wasn't expecting the portion sizes for the apps, but I should've known better from the last time... We didn't complain though lol and glad to have a large portion than not.

My daughter especially enjoyed the complimentary bread basket served with Old Bay garlic butter and regular butter. The rolls were soft, warm, and absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the stuffed shrimp with broccolini as my side, and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My daughter devoured the Old Bay Garlic Butter Aged Steak with potatoes-it was definitely a hit! We also ordered the red velvet and John Smith cake to go for dessert, and we can't wait to enjoy them. The white sangria was fresh, refreshing, and tasty. Overall, this was a great first visit, and we really enjoyed our meal. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

At around 5:15, the event coordinator , Alberto, pulled me aside and told me they would need to charge me extra because I supposedly had "more people than contracted." I explained that I did not--and even offered to show him my guest list. He then changed his statement and said both he and the staff had counted 44 guests. I pointed out that our contract was for up to 50, so we were actually under the limit. Instead of acknowledging this, he shifted to claim our time slot was only for four hours, implying we had gone over. But the contract clearly stated 1:30-5:30, and we were cleaned up and out by that time. At no point did he apologize for either of the accusations, which made the ending of our event unnecessarily stressful. It also left me questioning whether we actually received what we paid for. If Alberto thought that I was only supposed to have 40 people, did they only prepare food for 40 instead of the 50 we paid for? To make matters worse, this was a cash bar--so even if we had gone over in guest count, the venue would've only stood to profit more, not lose anything, since no extra food was served and additional guests would have only been purchasing their own drinks. Overall, the way this was handled felt unprofessional, unfriendly, and a bit shady. It's a shame, because the space itself had potential--but the management's attitude and lack of accountability left a bad impression.
