I have been around this place and wondered who the hell would wait in the freeze cold to get in. No way I could have been convinced to wait. Well graduation weekend came and my daughter said come celebrate / party with her and the MDT one last time, don't worry we can get you in. She had her connections, hopped the line and found a crazy wild fun loving crush of party people almost 1/3 my age. Had a round of drinks with the team and the DJ and it was soon way past bedtime and outta there to let kids do what kids love to do. This is the most discriminating organization I have ever been to in my entire life. I am legally blind since I was seven years old and I walked past the bouncer because I did not see them and I was thrown out of the club and humiliated, so embarrassed in front of all of my friends because I did not see the bouncer and could not give them my ID even though I was 21 years old. Also, apparently Skeeps' pre-authorization charge for keeping a tab open is $75, which struck me as ridiculous (and I freaked out for a bit when I saw they'd charged $75 on my card instead of the $28.50 I'd authorized). I know people probably aren't reading reviews of popular college bars but this place is a literal nightmare. My friend and I got physically shoved out of the bar by the owner because my friend was in the medium between the mens bathroom and the hallway suggesting we use the mens bathroom because the line for the women's was very long. The owner threatened to call the police on my friend which was fair and she acknowledged that and said that's fine we'll wait for the women's but she rolled her eyes and the owner who apparently is on a constant power trip saw and freaked out. He said to leave so she said okay but he then started shoving her so I told him to take his hands off of her and then he started shoving me. He pulled out his phone and started recording him shoving us as if we were doing something wrong. We were begging him to stop touching us and telling him we'd leave but he kept basically punching us in the back and physically removed us from the bar. It was absolutely dehumanizing. I think it's easy to write this situation off as two drunk college girls causing trouble but I was sober at this point of the night and while my friend made a mistake in suggesting we use the mens bathroom I did literally nothing wrong. Later on in the night my father called and spoke to the owner and he refused to share the video with him. I'm assuming this is because the video only shows the owner touching us while we beg him to stop lol. During the phone call, the owner said he'd report my dad for threatening him (which he absolutely did not) and that I was in the mens bathroom which gave him the right to touch me. Again, I did not even consider going into the mens bathroom and told my friend no despite there already being four other girls in there (which the owner had no problem with apparently). The owner is a little guy so I guess physically assaulting female guests is how he gets off. My dad also spoke to the cops considering this was basically assault and apparently the owner is a hothead who does this often. They say you can't fight him unless you're rich which was apparent to me when we stepped outside and no one including a cop would listen to what my friend and I had to say. When we left, the owner followed us outside and called over some police that were across the street and we spoke to a female cop who suggested we wait for our ride around the corner. I don't particularly care to take legal action but I know for a fact I could. The owner also hung up twice while on the phone with my dad which is super mature and not suspicious at all! Scorekeepers, more fondly known as "Skeeps," is a fantastic place to go out to on a weekend night if you are looking for something fun to do. It is merely a five dollar cover most nights, a small price to pay for an always memorable night. The pitcher drinks they sell are a great way to get a bang for your buck while also enjoying the flavor profiles and alcohol to mixer ratio. There is an upper deck if you're looking for more of a people watching moment and a lower floor level if you're looking to dance! Great place, can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back!!! read more

very scary and hostile environment. the bouncer who had "uncle T" on his shirt acted absolutely insane and said he would hit a girl if he wasn't a man. This was all because she accidentally bumped into him. There were other staff members that had to get involved and they apologized on behalf of the bouncer. Uncle T claimed he was the manager, however I don't think this is true and I hope that girl followed up with them because what he did is considered a threat. I cant imagine how the girl who he threatened felt because even I left the bar feeling very shaken up and unsafe. I didnt even ended up going in after that and I don't ever plan to; I advice all women who do decide to go there to look out for him. read more

Tuesday is $2 coronas, no cover, and $3 tequila shots. Great place to come on not only Tuesday but spot game days. Tables get moved at night and make way for a large dance area. There are three different levels to the bar and two bars located inside and can accommodate a few hundred people. Two balcony overhangs look over the dancing area with the famous M wall for photographs. Bar downstairs is right by the bathrooms after you walk in and the best spot to grab a drink. Very hard to get a drink sometimes because of the influx of people but bartenders are good at what they do. Make sure you check the prices because they change nightly. For example, on Saturday mixed drink pitchers were $8 but on Tuesdays when there's other specials they go up to $12. Also- try the chicken tenders! Great bar/late night food. Even if tables are removed on the dance floor area you can fine some on the balconies, or in the front area where there are booths that don't move during the night. read more

S'keepers is scary, but more for the leering frat dudebros and the rest of the crowd than for any other reason. Current magazine recently threw a fest/night-of-shows where they booked rock/indie bands and DJs at various bars around town. For some strange reason, they booked a lot of sports bars. Mega-weird, but hey, why not play along? Some friends ended up playing at S'keepers for this event, so I stopped in for the second time ever. Without the meathead scene, you were able to appreciate the space itself, which is actually kinda cool. There is a small stage area, with a little set-off crow's-nest/loft seating area up off to the side. The DJ booth is really well-equipped, and the decor is sort of wonderful and hilarious -- 70s ski-lodge meets sports memorabilia. A rowing/crew style boat in the same room as a giant buffalo head and an antler chandelier? Yes. The polo-shirted bouncers were a little jumpy (must not be used to tiny dudes in skinny jeans), but nice enough. Domestic beer was more than I thought it should be, but then I found out that if you got a (veggie or reg.) burger, you got a beer deal along with it. Food was decent for a bar, but I was starving, so anything would have done. Still, I can't say I would ever go back here on a regular night. I was tempted to imagine a time when someone could take the space over and project crazy video on all of the screens instead of football. But let's face it, it's a sports bar, and a sports bar it will stay. Not really my thing, but other people love it, and probably always will. I'll see you at the 8-ball instead. read more

Amazing space. This is place is big - multiple second-floor areas, terraced levels, well-designed circular bar-setup on the first-floor. Drinks are especially cheap here and if you're looking, there are plenty of cute 18 (16?) and up girls here. This is where you learn that Thursday is the new Friday. But, it's crowded, filled with d-bags and tools, the music is very predictable, and those cheap drinks are really weak. And it is just way too bright in this place sometimes. If I want to get wrecked could you please keep the lighting down so people don't see how trashed I am? But seriously, come here on a Thursday and see where the frat boys go when they turn 21. I used to go to this place when it was Dooleys, (long time ago) and recently i had some friends in town for a football weekend, and seeing as we couldn't get tickets for the game we went to Scorekeepers, where they have the biggest big screen TV's in town, downtown anyway. We had prime seats at the bar, and at the end of the first quarter they came through and demanded our bar stools, asking us to stand for the rest of the game. Nobody told us that this was going to happen when we came in, and i thought it was pretty lousy to wait until we had beers and food in front of us, all so they could cram more people into a place that was already too crowded. If I could describe the chicken tenders in any way, it's earth cluckering. They are so good that even a chicken would eat them (yeah I went there with chicken cannibalism). I tried them once on vacation and now I can't stop thinking about them. It answered the time old question of why did the chicken cross the road... Literally every time my boyfriend drags me here we're two of maybe four people in the whole bar. Behind the bar is filthy and drinks are way overpriced based on quality/venue. Our last trip here my boyfriend asks the bartender what they have on tap to which the guy just points to a board we can barely read. Couldn't even list a few beers. Cold. However, he had no problem chatting with a few college girls that came in complaining of the dead bar. Maybe I'll like this place more if it's busy, but right now not a chance. read more
