The environment was lively but still very family‑friendly, which I really appreciated. They have a solid variety of drinks and beers. I ordered a mojito, at first sip it tasted like water, but after stirring it up it turned out to be really well balanced and refreshing. For food, I had the lemon pepper wings and my husband had the buffalo wings. Both were perfectly cooked: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the sauces were spot on. Came in on Mother's Day and it was not overly busy. A handful of tables had customers at them. We were waiting on the sixth person of our party to show up so we ordered drinks and looked at the menus. Waitress seemed annoyed that we weren't ordering food right away. So, we put in an appetizer order while we waited. The Quesorizo was okay, but the portion was tiny. We put in our order before our sixth arrived as they told us what they wanted. The food started arriving fairly quickly which was good. But the waitress put in an order for a regular chicken tenders meal for one of my daughters instead of the one from the kid's menu. I ordered the "El Gordo" Burrito with beef. It was a lackluster item filled with regular ground beef that was not seasoned. I didn't finish it. My wife and oldest daughter got the buffalo chicken mac and cheese - which they normally love - but they said it was not very good today. And to top it all off, our waitress disappeared for about 10 minutes forcing us to go up to the bar to get drinks/refills and request a new set of silverware because my son dropped his on the ground. I have always had an amazing experience at Oscars. I tried the nachos today. Big mistake. Cold, hard, oddly burnt but not hot, and terrible. The cheese wasn't even melted, but the chips were burned. I told the server that these were terrible and I hardly ate any. She did nothing about it. You are missing a HUGE opportunity to create your own beer nacho cheese!!! Wow - what an unforgettable meal! Oscar's absolutely nailed it with their amazing Hawaiian burger! Every bite was bursting with flavor, and you can really tell everything is made from scratch. Oscar's has won me over... After a few mediocre visits due to poor service, I was admittedly not much of a fan. More recently, service has been consistently friendly and attentive. I have also found some really great food options, including crave-worthy salsa, chicken tenders, and pulled pork. I really live the quesadilla too! They also offer a catering menu that features all the crowd favorites, including wings and mac & cheese, among more. Finally, my husband loves it for the many televisions and Keno, which I honestly enjoy too! I want to start off by saying the food here is amazing, still. Unfortunately, since ownership has changed, it has become unbearable to have a lunch or dinner here. We keep trying to give it more chances, but have been disappointed every time. It started with a Sunday Afternoon where the music was so loud that you had to yell across the table. The staff was acting like it was their party, as well. Went to dinner the next time on a Friday where we had to leave because my 5 year old kept complaining that his ears hurt because of the noise Today, there was a group of 12ish people that seemed to be friends with staff or ownership that were screaming karaoke like it was a Saturday night college town club. Their ranch dressing is amazing! We started with the cheese fries which were yummy because they were crispy. Sometimes cheese fries get soggy but these weren't like that at all. The ranch dressing made them even better! The waiter said they make their own and that's why it's so good. I had the Philly cheesesteak with fries. It was delicious! I always order mine with a side of mayo...which really makes a huge difference. My brother ordered a steak wrap and he said it's great too! I think it's the same thinly sliced steak that they use for the philly. The waiter was fast and attentive. When we were leaving, the restaurant started to get busier because a game was started and lots of people were dressed for their favorite team. Attempted to try this place on Saturday. Pretty busy at the bar. Not enough servers. It took at least five minutes for us to even be acknowledged (sitting in the bar area). We put our drink order in and watched multiple people that came in after us get their drinks while we sat waiting. I tried to be patient but it was absolutely ridiculous. Revisited this place after a football game. Not too many people, which I was surprised about, because this place is normally pretty popular after a sports game at the local high school. It took my group almost half an hour to place our orders, another hour for the food to come out, and about another hour for the check to come. Service was absolutely horrible; we asked for our food multiple times, and were met with the response, "It'll be ready shortly." Another fifteen minutes, ask again, same response. We continued to get more frustrated, and then finally our food came out. The food itself was fine - the only issue I had was that my order of fries didn't ever come out. I decided it wasn't worth waiting another half hour for average fries, so I didn't bother asking for them. The manager came out briefly to apologize, but wasn't very sincere. We were all tired and wanted to get out, so after the hour it took to get our checks, we left as fast as we could. I hope this was just a one time thing. Maybe they were training new people: maybe some of the workers were having a rough day. Even if these things happened, it still was unprofessional how they handled the situation. We were ignored for most of the time, which wasted an otherwise good night. I plan on coming back at some point in the future and to hopefully be able to update my review; until then, this place did not live up to the expectation. 1/5 read more

Traditional bar food type place. Everything here was pretty mediocre. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, but she did forget to bring out the appetizer we ordered. It wasn't a huge deal, because the dinner portions were large. We thought the burger special they had going on Thursday was a good deal. The hand cut fries were yummy, but really nothing spectacular. The chicken tender dinner I got seemed like it was packaged and dropped into a fryer, but it was fine. We ordered a dessert (chocolate chip cookie sundae) to go because little one was grumpy and needed to go to bed. It was terrible! The cookies tasted off, almost like they had a hint of Mexican food on them. They were warm, so I wonder if they were put on the grill to be reheated, where Mexican food was already cooked. We had a team gathering after work and on the day we went, it was also NCAA games and Michigan was playing, so it was packed. Got my beer and after quick review of the menu, went with the following items: - wings with 4 sauces (buffalo, teriyaki, honey bbq and Parmesan garlic) - Hawaiian Burger med. The waitress was new, didn't really have all the menu information and being busy, ordering and service was little slow... On our visit, they were out of 3 sauces, but that was fine since we weren't getting them... of all the sauces we got, my recommendation is that you stay with buffalo - all other sauces were just ok. Burger was decent as well, nothing special... I did ask for medium, but ended up with well done burger.... I would have sent it back, but being busy and things being slow, opted to consume the burger. The wings were decent as well... no better or worse then say Buffalo Wild Wings, etc. Not a bad place to stop by after work for quick drinks or a place to meet up with friends for drinks and dinner. Went to Oscar's with a bunch of coworkers. I had eaten here in the past, and was generally happy with the food. To say it's gone downhill would be an understatement. Ordered a Cuban sandwich, and it could best be described as a sadwich. Not only was it thin (not much meat) and bland (not much flavor), but there were HUGE chunks of cartilage and gristle in the sandwich. Imagine biting into a sandwich in a public setting, and getting semi-solid blech in your mouth. And it costs $12 to boot! Not that it mattered (wasn't really there to watch TV, but the TVs are in real bad shape (lots of ghosting, burn-in, and dead spots). It would not be a go-to place to watch a game. The salad I ordered with it was amazing - the croutons were bursting with flavor. It's the only reason I didn't give 1 star (that and the generally good food I've had there in the past). Just don't order the Cuban (and I'm guessing pulled pork based on it). read more
