We stopped by this sports bar for some drinks and food, and honestly the whole experience was great. The staff were super friendly and sat us right away, which set a good tone from the start. The environment was lively but still very family‑friendly, which I really appreciated. They have a solid variety of drinks and beers. I ordered a mojito, at first sip it tasted like water, but after stirring it up it turned out to be really well balanced and refreshing. For food, I had the lemon pepper wings and my husband had the buffalo wings. Both were perfectly cooked: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the sauces were spot on. I'm giving 5 stars because several staff members were attentive, friendly and "checked-in" with this single diner. I did come on trivia night which was crazy busy so that slowed service, drink and food a bit but my appetizers I ordered were warm and delicious- sautéed shrimp and cheese sticks. My drink - lemon drop with Tito's was perfect! Even though it was loud and busy it was nice to see and hear families interacting and talking about trivia- away from the electronics! Came in on Mother's Day and it was not overly busy. A handful of tables had customers at them. We were waiting on the sixth person of our party to show up so we ordered drinks and looked at the menus. Waitress seemed annoyed that we weren't ordering food right away. So, we put in an appetizer order while we waited. The Quesorizo was okay, but the portion was tiny. We put in our order before our sixth arrived as they told us what they wanted. The food started arriving fairly quickly which was good. But the waitress put in an order for a regular chicken tenders meal for one of my daughters instead of the one from the kid's menu. I ordered the "El Gordo" Burrito with beef. It was a lackluster item filled with regular ground beef that was not seasoned. I didn't finish it. My wife and oldest daughter got the buffalo chicken mac and cheese - which they normally love - but they said it was not very good today. And to top it all off, our waitress disappeared for about 10 minutes forcing us to go up to the bar to get drinks/refills and request a new set of silverware because my son dropped his on the ground. I have always had an amazing experience at Oscars. I tried the nachos today. Big mistake. Cold, hard, oddly burnt but not hot, and terrible. The cheese wasn't even melted, but the chips were burned. I told the server that these were terrible and I hardly ate any. She did nothing about it. You are missing a HUGE opportunity to create your own beer nacho cheese!!! Oscar's has won me over... After a few mediocre visits due to poor service, I was admittedly not much of a fan. More recently, service has been consistently friendly and attentive. I have also found some really great food options, including crave-worthy salsa, chicken tenders, and pulled pork. I really live the quesadilla too! They also offer a catering menu that features all the crowd favorites, including wings and mac & cheese, among more. Finally, my husband loves it for the many televisions and Keno, which I honestly enjoy too! Their ranch dressing is amazing! We started with the cheese fries which were yummy because they were crispy. Sometimes cheese fries get soggy but these weren't like that at all. The ranch dressing made them even better! The waiter said they make their own and that's why it's so good. I had the Philly cheesesteak with fries. It was delicious! I always order mine with a side of mayo...which really makes a huge difference. My brother ordered a steak wrap and he said it's great too! I think it's the same thinly sliced steak that they use for the philly. The waiter was fast and attentive. When we were leaving, the restaurant started to get busier because a game was started and lots of people were dressed for their favorite team. I want to start off by saying the food here is amazing, still. Unfortunately, since ownership has changed, it has become unbearable to have a lunch or dinner here. We keep trying to give it more chances, but have been disappointed every time. It started with a Sunday Afternoon where the music was so loud that you had to yell across the table. The staff was acting like it was their party, as well. Went to dinner the next time on a Friday where we had to leave because my 5 year old kept complaining that his ears hurt because of the noise Today, there was a group of 12ish people that seemed to be friends with staff or ownership that were screaming karaoke like it was a Saturday night college town club. Revisited this place after a football game. Not too many people, which I was surprised about, because this place is normally pretty popular after a sports game at the local high school. It took my group almost half an hour to place our orders, another hour for the food to come out, and about another hour for the check to come. Service was absolutely horrible; we asked for our food multiple times, and were met with the response, "It'll be ready shortly." Another fifteen minutes, ask again, same response. We continued to get more frustrated, and then finally our food came out. The food itself was fine - the only issue I had was that my order of fries didn't ever come out. I decided it wasn't worth waiting another half hour for average fries, so I didn't bother asking for them. The manager came out briefly to apologize, but wasn't very sincere. We were all tired and wanted to get out, so after the hour it took to get our checks, we left as fast as we could. I hope this was just a one time thing. Maybe they were training new people: maybe some of the workers were having a rough day. Even if these things happened, it still was unprofessional how they handled the situation. We were ignored for most of the time, which wasted an otherwise good night. I plan on coming back at some point in the future and to hopefully be able to update my review; until then, this place did not live up to the expectation. 1/5 read more

Traditional bar food type place. Everything here was pretty mediocre. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, but she did forget to bring out the appetizer we ordered. It wasn't a huge deal, because the dinner portions were large. We thought the burger special they had going on Thursday was a good deal. The hand cut fries were yummy, but really nothing spectacular. The chicken tender dinner I got seemed like it was packaged and dropped into a fryer, but it was fine. We ordered a dessert (chocolate chip cookie sundae) to go because little one was grumpy and needed to go to bed. It was terrible! The cookies tasted off, almost like they had a hint of Mexican food on them. They were warm, so I wonder if they were put on the grill to be reheated, where Mexican food was already cooked. What kind of sports bar only plays one thing on the tv? Asked to watch the World Cup and she said not until the horse race was over. There's like ten tvs and it could have been switched. Then someone else asks for the Tigers game and it gets switched immediately. I also ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and it came out with no buffalo sauce, just a normal chicken wrap. I send it back to the kitchen and they send me out with the same chicken wrap implying the sauce is at the bottom. I open up the wrap and there was no sauce in it. Horrible customer service. Didn't even get boxes and had to leave with no left overs because our waitress wouldn't come over to our table. Never eat here! read more

Second Visit: Shared half of hubby's burger. We split a salad with lots of veggies. Mmmm. The place was busier this time; I decided that it wasn't any noisier. The occasional cheering for the various games on TV (including my own--the Tigers were on) was not overpowering. The best part that day was dessert: GET THE DEEP FRIED CHEESECAKE! Yes, even if you are trying to give up gluten, if you can cheat a little, definitely get the cheesecake! We had it with blueberry compote and vanilla ice cream. OMG awesome! Oscar came to our table to personally thank us for the review and ask us to like them on Facebook for updates on their specials. He's a great guy, and makes me love the place even more. Then Maria (Mrs. Oscar) came by and offered us just a taste of the lemon bars. Tart and delicious! Like being at grandma's house - feeling special and coddled.
