By being a member of Harris Teeter's EVIC program and entering your phone number at the pump, you automatically save 3 cents per gallon off the advertised price. Most days, you earn one Fuel Point per dollar you spend in the store, but on Friday, you earn FOUR Fuel Points per dollar spent, if you clip the electronic coupon. This means if you spend $25 on Friday with that coupon, you earn 100 Fuel Points, and every 100 Fuel Points is 10 cents off gas. I let my Fuel Points accumulate all month, and at the beginning of the next month, the receipts tell me how many points I can use to save at the pump. I mostly shop on Friday, so most months, I save 40-80 cents per gallon on a fill up by using Harris Teeter Fuel Center. Occasionally, Harris Teeter runs deals where you earn 4X Fuel Points all week, or 4X Fuel Points on the purchase value of a gift card (Harris Teeter, Amazon, and VISA/Mastercard excluded). The Fuel Center is never crowded and even has free WiFi. The pumps have mobile pay, and if you want a snack or drink, a few options are available, along with a worker who can ring your order up. The only reason I'm not giving the Fuel Center five stars is because you do not earn any Fuel Points from purchasing gas here. Since that is the case, I only fill up here when I am using points for discounts. If I earned Fuel Points on buying gas- even 1 point per dollar- that would be a better incentive to fill up here anytime I need gas.

With a new car wash company popping up on every corner in CHS right now, I still use this locations if I have time. The only thing that I've found at this Spinx location (and many others) is they don't keep up on their lottery scratcher displays. They'll display that they have tons, but when you ask, they don't have the ones displayed. I'm sure it's an annoying part of the job to go around front and remove each card after it runs out, but if I worked there I'd find it more annoying getting asked every 5 seconds for something that's sold out.... Chatting with the owners, I had such a great time. They were so friendly and helpful. The wife explained her husband had retired and opened this business recently. She said she works during the day and then comes to the shop to help. She was so sweet and personable. While there, regulars stopped in, giving it a feel of a sweet neighborhood store. The big parking lot makes it easy to stop in too.

Whoever their designer is did a great job of making this store really fit the neighborhood. I love to see all the great brands and products they bring and the beer selection is the biggest in the area. I stop in all the time, but I was able to pop in to their rebranding party and they had free Pakistani food, a bunch of local vendors, and music too. I was lucky enough to snag one of their limited edition t shirts that mentions Qwik Stop on the back and the new Jadoon's logo on the front. It will be a Park Circle collectible for sure. Congrats to Owais and his family on this whole endeavor.

The outside is clean and enjoyable however the inside is a bit different. The floors could use some TLC while the shelves were sparse here and there, not fulling utilizing the space because they were out? I didn't see any employees walking around in case someone needed assistance. Inside they make the most of their space as the isles are a LOT closer that at a larger store. I think this is a good thing as it's smart. The produce was a little suspect as they appeared to be picked through the night before and was waiting for restock. Moreover, the produce was average to a smidge below average, depending on what the item was. As for the selection, it should go without saying, a smaller place yields a smaller selection. I was there to get multi-colored carrots and to walk around since this was new to me. I got one of the last two bags of carrots so it wasn't like I had a huge sample size. The bakery was hoe-hum to me. Nothing of great interest and I'm somewhat curious if they bake items on their own or have them shipped in. Regardless I wasn't interested in the selection. As for my stroll down the meat isle it seemed like the had a lot of the generic items to pick through as if they're competing with the "big blue building" that all of us know about. As for their other items, they have a plethora of oddities. Blow up field goal coolers, mobility trainers, just things I would never in a million years purchase. They do have seasonal items as well including blankets, snuggies, sports theme products and so on. However, I didn't see this carry over to specific products like Doritoes sponsored sports items. Just a small note, not that it ever mattered to me much. Overall, Lidl seems a lot like Aldi and perfectly fine for those who might be in a rush, need generic items or don't seem to need a vast selection of products. I've been an avid Lidl shopper since visiting a location in Amsterdam. This store reminds me of…read moreEuropean grocers, as you are encouraged to bring your own bags (otherwise, you must pay for bags) and my favorite- the bakery at the front of the store. Lidl's bakery doesn't have all the options of European grocery store bakeries, but it will do until my next international trip. The store also has a section called "The Midl of Lidl", which is similar to Aldi's "Aisle of Shame". This area has specials like home items, clothes, shoes, and holiday decor. You never know what you'll find there. You do not have to insert a quarter to "rent" the carts here, and a bonus is that they have the smaller grocery carts, which are my favorite since I'm only buying for my husband and I and not a big family. I recommend downloading the Lidl app and entering your phone number when shopping to save. Be aware that many sales at Lidl do require you to purchase a certain amount- for example, if chips are $2/5 on sale and you only want one bag, it is probably $2.99 and not $2.50 like some other stores do. Some of our favorite Lidl finds are the Tom Yum soup, the bakery baguettes, and Snack Day brand "All Dressed" potato chips. We have also had good experiences with the produce, and we pick up a different specialty cheese to try on every visit.
