So it's six /seven months since staying I'll never be back. I went with a group - 16 of us including the 3 friends I was with for my last visit - for lunch Friday (6/30- 12 noon reserved ) our waitress Mackenzie did one hell of a job. Not one food or drink order wrong and everything that came out of the kitchen was hot, tasty & delicious. Ordered wings - and they were a good size, not the measly ones we were served last time. Service was horrible! Stopped in around 3:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday. One waitress/bartender. We sat at a table and ordered 3 alcoholic beverages. They took forever, food took forever. Ordered 2 smash burgers and chicken tenders with fries. Fries were cold. The woman running the whole restaurant was more attentive to the bar folks! My advice, sit there! We were not disappointed as we made an improv to stop for lunch on a road trip to Syracuse. This place is a hidden gem, friendly people even friendly service, great bartender and I dare say better fish and chips that we had yesterday at Carnegie diner in Manhattan, which is located in the district at half the price. First, I would like to say I don't ever recall leaving a bad review any wear. I walk into the bar with my son and we sit in the dining room and asked if we could watch the Chiefs and ravens game while we eat which is obviously the biggest game at 4pm I was told we could only watch the games that were on in that room but I could go up front and watch it in the bar room (no problem) So I go to the bar area and there are some tables but no seats. There's one table up front but it wasn't positioned to watch the game. The rest of the tables had no seats. So I took two barstools from the bar and brought them over to the pub tables where I was told those Chairs could not be brought to those tables (attitude problem). I than asked to sit at the bar with my son which she said with an attitude not if your sons under 18. So I am pretty much going to have to leave because we wanted to eat and watch the game. Needless to say she's giving me dirty looks and I said can I sit down with my son and eat. She seemed to be angry and confused so I called her a name and left. Wear she smiled and waved goodbye. Basically in a nutshell they were not going to let us watch the chiefs game and eat. Because of the way me and my son were treated we will never go back again and I certainly will have nothing nice to say about this place. read more

Good food, but poor service. If the service had been better, I would have given four stars, at least. We had no place settings, even after our drinks had been brought, and had to ask for them after our food came. We ate our food not hot, but tepid, while we waited for utensils and napkins. How does a waiter not notice that there are no utensils or napkins and not bring them by the time the food gets served? My small container of sour cream got dumped on the floor as I reached for a napkin after our utensils and napkins were finally brought over, so I had no sour cream with my now-tepid quesadilla, and no one came by to check on us or ask if we needed anything until long after we finished our meal, so I couldn't ask for another sour cream. I was offered another sour cream when I told my waitress that my original sour cream had gotten dumped on the floor when she came to clear the table, but we were long done eating by then, and we were ready for the check. So, no sour cream -- I wasn't going to eat it after the meal, I wanted it WITH the meal. We got in there very early, around 5:00, and it wasn't crowded, so I'm not sure why we were so neglected. Because the food was good I would try this place one more time. If the service was poor again, we wouldn't go back, which would be a shame as their fried pickles are really very good and the rest of our meal was tasty as well. Even the glass of wine was good, and was a decent-sized pour. This was pleasantly surprising for a local tavern, but they do need to up their service. read more

I went to Dutch's tavern prior to going to Bethel Woods to look at their Halloween display. I couldn't believe how loud it was in there. I know it's a bar but the restaurant part was on the other side of the building. In my opinion they should have a partition or wall separating the bar from the restaurant. My husband and I stumbled upon Dutch's. We were very surprised and pleased. The Sunday brunch menu was being offered along with their regular. I had the Dutch breakfast burrito and my husband had an omelette. The coffee was fresh and hot! The flavor and portions of our food were spot on. The breakfast sausage was delicious. I am from out of town, I needed a break from my drive and some food. So I parked and walked in the door. The menu is large so I decided to stay, there is a good bathroom, always a plus. I was able to order vegetarian items, which makes me happy. I don't understand how people can eat animals without even paying it any mind. They brought me my food outside, and they were very attentive while I was dining. The veggie burger and house salad were excellent. The brussels sprouts were also very good. The unsweetened iced tea was lovely. The eating section outside is fine, although I did notice some other tables did not look level. When I was done, there was nobody around to check up on me, so after a couple of minutes, I left a generous tip and headed to my car. Next thing I know, Woman is banging on my window, and when I rolled it down she said: "you need to go inside and pay." I told her I left the money outside, and she got very apologetic. Hey it's a dive bar with a decent restaurant the place is neat and clean. The mens bathroom is a tiny closet with a sink in your rib cage. The toilet is actually against the wall so there is no way to use it comfortably. The woman's washroom is far bigger. Such a shame. Men need to use a large bathroom but it does not exist here. The drinks were great the food was great the service and staff were great. We went for Karaoke and there was great fun was had by all. We will be coming back on Saturday's for more karaoke. Do me a favor fix the mens bathroom or make the current woman's bathroom unisex. That bathroom is unusable for about 60% of men. read more

I went to Dutch's to order some wings at the bar and the lady said my card was declined. The Bartender tried again she said it decline. I went to the ATM and pulled out $200 but I only got eight wings. I don't know if she was trying to play me because I was African American or if She was trying to embarrass me. Been here before and figured we go in to enjoy a drink after a night out eating with the family. Tried to play a game of pool with my honey. Small pool table but they haven't pushed over into a table so they have more room for darts so we kept getting bumped by people. It's bar room Pool so no big deal. The young blonde tree huggy style bartender was friendly enough and took our order, a Moscow, Mule and an Titos with diet Pepsi. She brought us a sprite and Tito's and the worst tasting Moscow mule I've ever tried my life. I had to force myself to finish it. I'll try to get them, but I hope they get a new bartender that knows what she's doing and pays attention. They had another customer that had her dog on her lap at the bar that bark at some of the customers which was kind of lame. Our first time coming here and it was a fun place. Sat in the restaurant area as we were with friends and wanted to check out the karaoke. There was a good crowd for a Friday night but not super crowded that you couldn't talk or walk around freely to go to the bar or the restrooms. Ordered the bavarian pretzel and chili as our appetizers - huge, soft hot pretzel with cheese and grain mustard sauces which were both great. Chili was a nice sized portion that came with tortilla chips and they brought out a larger basket for the table. I had the sliders with fries and they were both very good. Hubby had the buffalo chicken with fries and it was very good - very crispy and great buffalo sauce. Our friends had the cheesesteak with fries and the chicken quesadilla and both said they were very good. We enjoyed the karaoke they had - a lot of great singers that were thoroughly entertaining and the DJ had a great sound system. All in all we will be back. read more

Wow!! What an institution ! Looks like a hole in the wall bar, this wonder is exactly at the mid-point of a Long Island to Finger Lakes trip. The food ( an extensive menu of entrees and appetizers) , drinks and service are all top notch at this bar/restaurant largely filled with locals who know the score. Best best hamburgers-ask for the Dutch's classic with a side of Jack Daniels sauce. From someone who knows and loves burgers above all else.
