Oh yes, let me tell you about my experience with ScotKlean Restoration Services.
When John (the owner) visits to give an estimate, everything is positive: yes, yes, yes. When he arrives to do the job, it's quite a different scene.
Examples:
Before: The carpeting will be dry within a few hours.
After: The carpeting will be dry in a few days.
Before: We'll move the furniture and replace it.
After: "I came here to clean the carpet, not to move furniture." (Even though we moved almost everything and our rooms were nearly empty.
Before: You will be pleased with the excellent results.
After: The results are decidedly mediocre. The few places which really needed attention were not properly cleaned, due to "filtration" -- whatever that means. There is no attempt at spotting. He just runs the machine over the area with no concern other than to finish.
Before: Yes, we can do one section tomorrow and the remaining area another day. (Per conversation with the scheduler, Andrew.)
After: "When I gave you the estimate, it was for the entire job." Hence, everything was turned upside down, resulting in tracking through damp carpet to go to bed with cold, wet feet and no bedside tables, a clock, or any other comforts.
All in all, a very disappointing adventure combined with a most unprofessional attitude. I do not recommend this "service." read more
