Do not take your dog here! They gave my guy a crappy cut, shaved his neck and razor burned him bad enough to have to wear a cone for 2 weeks! They claimed he was matted, he was not! Cost me close to $200 to repair the damage and have him groomed! read more

Took in my 4lb papillon to be groomed, bathed, teeth brushed & nails trimmed. Two stars for fitting us in on a short notice & for having her ready before the expected time. They have a little stand by the door & a wall behind the front desk so your unable to see where the actual grooming takes place. But she honestly looked the same from when I dropped her off to when I picked her up. She still had gunk on her eyes, her breath smelled the same & her teeth didn't look much cleaner, they clipped her nails but didn't file the edges so her nails were super sharp, I actually had to call after to ask if they even bathed her because she didn't smell clean, they said they use scent free shampoo but it seriously looked like they only brushed out her tail. For a $35 grooming we won't be back :/ read more

It had been a moment since my little fellow, Baxter, had a day for himself. So I hit up ye olde Yelp sought out a destination for him to attend, and landed on Scot's. They're your standard Groomer with your standard services, and they've been doing it for some time. You take your pet in between the hours of 0800-0900, and pick them up between the hours of 1400-1500. Unless, you have to do so at lunch, and they'll arrange it. Baxter received most of the available services... Shampooed, clipped, trimmed, and so on. When I grabbed him he was as happy as can be and looked much more gentlemanly, and the price of it all was on par with other places that I've taken him. $32 was cost for his day, it was well worth it, and I believe middle of the road for a groomer. Scot's is bueno in my book, and has been taking care of your canine's needs for a moment. I was comfortable leaving Baxter with such a nice staff, and it was good to see that others trusted them to do the same. Keep on at it Scot's and know that you've earned a new customer. read more

While not in any way cheap Scot's does a great job making my mutt as pretty as she can be. Best of all my dog absolutely loves Scot's, she perks up and gets really happy/excited as soon as we arrive. read more

Being a household of poor students in Albuquerque, we generally choose to spend my dog-related budget on natural food rather than unnecessary luxuries such as grooming. We can, and do, wash our pug and border collie ourselves. With summer temperatures quickly approaching, we decided to invest in some utility grooming. Our border collie was already overheating on long hikes and it was only late March, so we decided to have his hair cut down short to help regulate his temperature. The pug's shedding has always been out of control in the spring, so I wanted his hair trimmed as well to cut down on the shedding. Aztec Animal clinic recommended Scot's Dog Grooming to perform this service, so we called there first. They were disorganized and rude on the phone -- assumed I knew that we would have to drop our dogs off in the morning and leave them all day, when I had no idea of the protocol, never having done it before. When we arrived for our appointment, the lady at the front counter was sarcastic and confrontational, and had no record of our appointment. We got the call that the dogs were done, and when I arrived to pick them up, I immediately saw that neither of the services we had asked for had actually been performed. They had given the dogs a wash and a trim, which I did not ask them to do, and completely ignored my other requests. I responded with surprise -- "why didn't you shave my border collie like I asked you to?" The lady at the counter denied that we had asked for either of these services, and the groomer backed up her claims. "But why would I pay for a bath here when I can do that at home? I called specifically because I need my collie shaved -- he is too hot." Then their story changed: apparently my collie had been too scared of the clippers for them to complete the procedure. "Well, maybe if you sat with him he would behave a little better," she said in a biting tone. So we put him up on the table, secured his head in the little noose, and he only squirmed a couple of times as she hastily completed the trim. She claimed that he was better with me there, but what kind of dog grooming establishment does not know how to deal with a wiggly dog? Of COURSE he's not going to like the clippers, but he's the friendliest dog you'll ever meet. He would never bite or even growl. Their scathing attitude was unacceptable, and the counter attendant stood there watching with her arms crossed as I balanced on the edge of the grooming table, covered in my dog's hair. I was itchy for the rest of the day. She even went out of her way to point out the small scratch on my dog's face (which he received while playing in the back yard -- he's a 1 yr old border collie, he plays rough), like I was somehow unaware of it or hadn't done anything about it. I am a server in a restaurant. I hate it when customers complain; I have never even been on yelp.com, but I was compelled to come write this review because I was genuinely offended by their attitude toward me, the customer. It was an awful experience for me, and worse for my dogs; I doubt I will ever visit a groomer again. read more

Before Scot's my german shepherd terrier mix would freak out when he had his nails trimmed. He was at a shelter for 6 months before we got him and his nails were very short so he must have had a bad experience. It took 3 holders at the Vet. If I avoided doing it he would break a nail. Those were expensive vet bill twice. One day I tried Scot's and it was a magical experience. I petted his tummy she cut and voila done! We go there every 2 weeks. They started a punch card so I get free trims ever so often. They also groom my little terrier poo super cute! Love this place!!!! read more

Our dogs have been happy to visit Scot's for fourteen years. Scot and her whole crew are the best. They let me stay and help with our rescue dogs, whose tempraments are yet to be tested! Their prices are reasonable, too. read more

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the short notice they were able to see my dog. Actually, I'm assuming it was short notice because they had tons of cages of dogs in the back that would not stop barking the entire time. One star. So, I had to cancel my appointment with Barking Bad because my veterinarian said my Old English Sheepdog needed a haircut as soon as possible (lots of foxtails in my area.) I drop him off to a fairly dirty building with a cluttered inside, and am told they will have him done around a certain time. They end up calling me around 30-40 minutes after the expected time. I arrive and his haircut is incredibly choppy and uneven throughout his entire body, and they cut off his bangs, which should have been parted. His privates still looked dirty. His teeth did not look cleaned (don't know if they even do that.) His nails are chopped and not filed. His feet hair is still clumpy. They did not dry his underbelly completely. They didn't find a minor hotspot he started licking on his paw, probably because he was nervous in a chaotic building in a cage. He usually comes home from groomers happy. And, now he seems depressed. I'm assuming this is because the tiny corridor of a grooming shop was crammed with at least 8 other dogs in cages that would not stop barking. Paid $100 including tip, and will never be returning again. read more
