My GP recommended Dr. Squatrito's office and I could not be happier that she did. The front desk was a welcoming and professional person. Sorry, but I can't remember her name. Kelsi, the PA, called me back promptly on time (first time ever for me in a physician's office) and efficiently did the background for Dr. Squatrito. After radiographs, Dr. Squatrito met with me. She impressed me as knowledgeable and patient-centric in her approach. We decided to monitor the condition for now. If it deteriorates, we will go with an orthotic insert and surgery only if absolutely necessary. I was impressed with the entire operation at BFA and would recommend them to anyone needing a podiatrist.

I had no issues with the X-ray tech or the PA who I saw. I thought they were very professional and knowledgable. Reception, however, is a disaster. First, there is nothing preventing the whole lobby from hearing everything you discuss with the receptionist. The seating area is very close to the reception window. I felt very uncomfortable with so many people listening (whether they had bad intentions or not). Next, on both occasions, the receptionist seemed like I was truly inconveniencing her by being there. Rude, short, loud. No "please" or "thank you's." I just really didn't appreciate it. There was no concept of customer service at all.

But I assure you, 5 stars is for a clinical visit, because I arrived extra early and they saw me anyhow, and were very professional. He actually sat down and introduced himself and reviewed the problem with me before leaving to let me undress! (I never understand that part - he's about to get up close and personal doing a breast exam and look at my lady parts - why bother leaving just so I can toss that dumb paper sheet over my lap?) No one I know enjoys the prospect of a cold steel speculum wrenching open her most precious parts while a stranger peers in and scrapes cells with what feel like a pitchfork from the cervix. But I was having some weird, sudden and unexplainable pain, so I cowgirl'd up and put my feet in the stirrups and crossed my eyes in pain while the Dr. cranked open the speculum til he could see straight to China. He very kindly withdrew the instrument in under a minute - no dilly-dallying here. Of course the manual exam is unpleasant - you never get used to someone you've met five minutes ago reaching inside with one hand and the other hand on your belly. Well, I guess there are some women who are used to 5 minute encounters, but I'm not one of them. Anyhow, the purpose of this is to feel for abnormalities - at least that's what I tell myself. Again, Dr. B very professional and quick. He gave me a preliminary diagnosis with a follow up for ultrasound. Overall he seemed very competent and concerned about comfort. First impression I would recommend.

I thank God for showing me a sign that this office isn't going to be the right place to guide me through my pregnancy. I pray that whatever she's going through she can be strong enough to realize that it's not okay to push her feelings onto other people and talk to them with rudeness in her heart.
