While I do wish the views along the route were a bit more scenic, the overall experience was still absolutely worth it and I would gladly do it again. If you're looking for something different to do around Austin, please support this train. It's a special kind of adventure you don't find every day.

The train leaves out of Cedar Park depot. You do have assigned seating. At the Cedar Park depot, they do have bathrooms. I suggest using them because the bathrooms in the train do not open for at least 30 minutes after you leave the station. In the train, we were provided with some snacks and drinks. The drinks include a coffee, hot tea, cold, tea, juice. The snack was a Chex mix. They do have a cart when you can buy some more snacks, but not anything hardy. We did take charcuterie, boards and snacks with us. They let you take an ice chest on board as long as there is no alcohol in it. They do check your ice chest. The train ride is about two hours to Burnet, Texas. They do give you five tastings while on your way. The person delivering your tastings is from the winery and has a lot of information regarding the wines. We were in the Maurice car. In the Maurice car, they have tables with four chairs each. It can get a little cramped. The chairs are not the most comfortable but adequate. Once you arrive toBurnet, they give you two hours to go to the winery or have lunch or do both. We went on a Sunday in the majority of the shops and restaurants were closed. We did end up eating pizza and pasta at a nearby restaurant and then heading to the winery to enjoy some wines. At the winery, we bought three bottles of wine and shared between eight of us. We did get to take Wine home, but they do put it in a different cart until you arrive back to Austin because you are not allowed to drink alcohol that is not provided by the train. Once we arrived in Austin, everything went smoothly to include our pick up of wineand disembarking. Parking is available on site. The train has volunteers that help you throughout your journey. They are super sweet and know all the history of the train. They also have a car that has nice reclining seats. They told us about it on the way back and we were able to take a nap there.

A friend recently told me about the theatre and their overall positive experience. Date night with the hubs...we decided to see the new Michael movie. The movie was very well done and captivating. I learned some new things about Michael. First, he was huge visualization and positive imaging guy...likely one of the keys to his success. Also, I did not know he lived as long with his family (according to the hubs he was 29 years old.) Finally, I did not know the fire to his head while filming the Pepsi commercial caused 3rd degree burns and nerve damage which required pain medications. Now for the brewhouse, if you are a big fan of beer, then this is the place for you. I do not drink beer, so this was certainly not my draw. If you like beer, they have a huge assortment to choose from. As you walk into the theatre you can see large metal vats, which you might see in any brewery. In addition, the theatre is extremely comfortable with stadium type seating. You can recline into pure comfort. The sodas and popcorn were topnotch...fresh and tasty. Buying movie tickets is completely online through a kiosk...very straightforward and easy. Will definitely be back...

It's been a minute since I've been to this location and there's been a lot of changes. I love to see how they're evolving. Now you can order from scanning the QR code and you can add to your order whenever you want pick your seat and continue to add to your tab without waiting on a server. Super user friendly and fast. I will say that I unfortunately am still not a fan of the new seat and table design. Depending on where you sit you may not have a good view more than likely it will be obstructed by either your cup and food or the centerpiece that has the lights over the table. The other design flaw is the reclining chair. You recline all the way, The head portion goes all the way back and if you lay back you can't really see the movie. Also the reclining chairs were not designed for those above 5'8 or so. I'm 5'10" Anywho, I still really enjoyed the movie by figuring out how to unobstruct my view, I enjoyed the food and the Arnold Palmer. Mostly, I enjoyed going to the movies with my son. P.S. My son is 6'4" and this is his favorite place and it doesn't bother him at all

When I showed up and found the place closed, I called to check, and Tim kindly agreed to give me a tour even though I was the only guest. He made sure I felt comfortable throughout and kept the experience engaging with local history and stories. We cruised around the Trinity Garden, which ended up being one of my favorite parts. On top of that, he shared fantastic restaurant recommendations. It felt more like exploring the city with a friend than a formal tour. Huge thanks to Tim for making it such a memorable experience. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for something unique and enjoyable!

"We can beat them, just for one day We can be heroes, just…read morefor one day" (David Bowie) Ever see that dopey 2001 Pearl Harbor movie with Ben Affleck and  Kate Beckinsale? For my money, the movie's greatest scene revolved around Cuba Gooding, Jr. He played the role of a cook aboard the USS West Virginia when it was torpedoed by Japanese bomber planes on December 7, 1941 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The movie shows him cradling his dying superior officer in has lap, then in a rage manning an anti-aircraft machine gun and without any training on the weapon, shooting down several Japanese planes. That movie character was based on a real man and the actions depicted in the movie are real. The Navy cook's name was Petty Officer Second Class Doris (Dorie) Miller of Waco, Texas. He was an athlete, and played fullback on his high school team. In 1939, when he was 20 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a mess attendant third class. Two years later, his heroism and resulting newspaper accounts of his actions made him an American hero. He was the first Black American to be awarded the Navy Cross for combat valor. Miller was killed in action just two years later when his carrier was sunk by a Japanese submarine. In his honor, the Navy named an escort frigate after him (The USS Miller) in the 1970's. A nuclear powered aircraft carrier to be launched in 2029 will also be named in his honor. The memorial is located on the grounds of Doris D Miller Park on the banks of Brazos River in close proximity to the famous Waco Suspension Bridge. The memorial shows Petty Officer Second Class Miller standing tall and looking straight ahead in front of an abstract metal sculpture representing his ship. There are relief panels nearby that tell the story of this hero's life.

Online booking is very simplistic. You can select seats. As far as I can tell, if you purchased online, you can go in and scan the barcode that's located in the confirmation email with one of the people at the concession stand. For theater setup, it's not stadium seating. But there is a subtle slope downwards. Lighting is a bit dark. Identifying your seat requires you to look at the small unilluminated letter on the side of the seat next to the aisle, and then to look for the number printed part way down the arm rest. The screen is slightly elevated, views seem to be fine no matter where you sit. The seats recline. I was a bit confused at first about the controls, but the controls for your seat are on your right, two sets of "open" and "close". Sound and visuals were totally fine, and tickets are affordable. They also seem to host film festival events here.
