I had a bit of an emergency, was able to schedule an appointment same day and be seen. I had foreign objects in both my eyes. It had caused my eyes to become infected. The care the doctor took to explain how and what needed to be done to remove them. I am grateful for the time and care that went into being helped. It has been a couple days since being seen and within minutes of being seen my eyes began to feel much better & more once I started using the eye drops for the infection that was caused by the objects. This is the worst version of an office manager (Claudia) I have ever in my life encountered. I have never been so disrespected in an establishment as I was today, especially when she needs to learn how to communicate, one with her doctors, and two, with the customers. I have been in this office about 4 times since last June. I have seen Dr Ratcliff each time and he was enjoyable and pleasant. My prescription was off and it has taken additional tries to get it right. Well, this so called office manager (Claudia) was attempting to bill my insurance for the recheck just because it has turned into a new physical year but the doctor stated i would not be charged.. Today was the worst experience I have ever had at a doctors office because of this so called office manager Claudia. I do not know what kind of relationship exists with Dr Conroy and she but it seems weird to me that I ask to speak with who is in charge (Dr. Conroy) and immediately he deflects and does not hear anything I am saying about my experience with her. Not only did she attempt to bill my insurance but she admittedly to me in front of an office full of customers that she did not communicate with Dr. Ratcliff when he stated I would not be charged for the recheck, but when i addressed it quietly, she loudly told me ok i wont charge you this time but you need to go some place else next time. It has not even been a year since my first visit to this place, and I get my eye exams yearly, but because my insurance changed i was left with limited options and this place is one of the few. I decided to give them a chance. I guess i did it to myself by ever going to this place, but here we are. After this horrible exchange with this so called office manager, I leave to go next door and as I am explaning that I have another fix. This time I had brought my prevous prescription from TSO with me and as my vision was checked against that, the change was made. I also told the clear in Eyemart of my experience with that so called office manager Claudia and the clerk let me know of the many many complaints of the office staff in particular the office manager --so called office manager. Claudia. I find that weird because Dr Conroy stated he has never had a complaint ever about her and appeared scared to address her about it. . Well that's probably because another office staff advised that he never sees patients with complaints, it normally stops with the so called office manager. Well that makes absolutely no sense because how is she policing herself or maybe turning people away each time they have a complaint on this so called office manager. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! CUSTOMER SERVICE. The going back and forth with a customer/patient is INSANE. And not communicating with the doctor is HORRIFIC!. I am a firm believer in letting people find out the hard way, and karma is real. Well she didn't need to tell me to not return, because this patient/optometrist relationship is OVER. WE ARE NEVER EVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER. She operates that place very hoodish and they can have it. I hate i have waisted time and money I cant get back at this Scott Conroy & Associates. The rudeness and disrespect was enough for me to never go back there. And Dr Conroy, needs to open his eyes and not dismiss actions that are not appropriate for the success of his establishment. Over talking patients, deflecting, and acting like you are not hearing them complain about your so called office manager Claudia, is not a great professional move. On November 20, I entered the establishment of Dr Scott Conroy's Office. I signed in and advised I had an appointment set for that day at 2:30 and 2:40pm. After being given my paperwork, I was then called up and was told that my appointment was set for Wednesday November 29, 2023. I advised the Office Manager, WHOM SHE REFUSED TO GIVE ME HER NAME, that I had made the appointments online and that the appointment system had given me November 20, 2023, as the first available and even gave me an option to select a time which the times of 2:30 and 2:40 were available. She then proceeded to tell me "No, its not the 20th, it was for the 29th" I told her "I understand what you are saying, but what the system displayed to me on what was available put for the Next Day on the 20th when I made the appointments on November 19, 2023" She had an attitude when she kept telling me, "No" nothing else more. At that point that when I started to become very frustrated with her specifically because she made it seem to me like I must be mistaking or didn't know how to work a computer and its system. So I told her "Let me pull up the Email that has the Confirmation of the Appointment that I selected the 20th" So I sat down for a minute as I was having technical difficulties with my phone's internet connection. So when I finally pulled up the email and it indeed say the Appointment was for November 29, 2023. I got up and I advised the lady, "Well something must be wrong with your appointment system because I know for 100% fact that I selected the 20th and even my Teenage daughter and husband saw me select that date because I chose it specifically for the availability I had this week and tomorrow to take them. But I told the (White Female) lady whom I didn't get her name. She was really nice. But I asked her "How long is your walk-in wait for today?" She then began to tell me that the walk-in wait has been crazy and they had to do appointments first. So then that's when I told her (the White Female with Dirty Blonde hair, little heavy set) "when I made the appointments online it gave me the 20th to select with availability all day to select, but I guess something went wrong where it changed it automatically. But what is your soonest available time other than the 29th" That's when the Office manager rudely butted in the conversation and goes "No Mam, you made it for the 20th" I then snapped back at her and told her "I know what I selected and I have witnesses that showed me how, its not my first time using a online scheduling system", The Office Manager goes "You made it for the 20th, Our system wouldn't do that, it tells you what appointment times are available. And you didn't select the 20th because we don't have appointments available that soon", I then told her "Mam, I am past that point of the conversation, I wasn't talking to you, so please stop speaking to me, Im not arguing about it no more", She then proceeds to go up to the lady I was speaking to in front of me and tells her, "Stop scheduling" and She just walked away and sat down and I stood there still waiting for someone to help me to tell me if there is another available time. If there wasn't than I would sign in as a Walk-In. I stood at the counter for 30 minutes, and around that mark in time, my child who is Mentally Disabled was standing there with me and because of her disability she has a slight body tick that causes her to tap with her fingers or her feet when she gets anxious. So she was lightly tapping on the counter, not loud or hard enough for me to notice or anyone else for that matter (I have video recording of how exactly she was tapping on the counter) and at the time there was a heavy-set Black Female who took over that part of the counter from where the White Female was working on. And She proceeded to yell at my daughter and told her very loud, enough to embarrass her, "STOP Kicking the WALL! Do not Do That" I then told her to not speak to my child that way, that's when the Office Manager came up and yelled at her and me and said "You need to stop tapping on the counter l like that! Tell her she needs to stop that right now" I then told her, I can but she wont listen. The office manager goes, "She doesn't understand simple instruction of STOP?" I told her "No mam she doesn't understand" She goes "Well you need to tell her to get out!" I told her "she is a minor and why is she speaking of her that way!? She has a mental Disability in which causes her to tap when she is anxious". The manager Lady told me then "You didn't tell me that she has a mental disability" "I then advised her that I don't automatically just tell people that my daughter is mentally disabled, if I do it embarrasses her and upsets her" My daughter who is 11, then began to cry because she was clearly upset for how she was being treated and punished for her disability she CANT help control as her brain does not work that way. No clue about how the actual exams are. Just walked out after waiting 45 minutes. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment at 10:10. At 10:55, 45 minutes AFTER my appointment....I asked for my insurance card and license back (they had not even been entered into the system). Not sure why....but at least 2 people who arrived after myself were called back before I was. Why bother with taking appointments if you aren't going to reasonably honor them? read more
