Customer service, set up an appointment with them last week to get my HVAC service done, today I was scheduled. I had to call them multiple times then the receptionist hit up the technician, only to tell me that the tech would be another hour and some change to get to my home, this was after I already waited for an hour and a half. Seems like a glorified lemonade stand to me, they obviously don't track the technicians if they did I would have received some notification that my day would be wasted, book with them if you have a spare day or two to wait around. There are plenty other better contractors to hit up, in my opinion so back to the search for a company that respects my time. A little helpful business advice the techs set a timer and when they bust that time they relay that to the office, which in turn triggers a call to scheduled customers that you will be waiting additional hours, and when this happens you say sorry for the inconvenience how about we make it up to you. RESCHEDULING IS NOT A CONSTELLATION PRIZE. How about you knock 10% off of the bill since I lost wages today but nothing so buyer beware. read more

I was referred to Scott to devise a cooling solution for my garage. I have workout equipment in that location, and sometimes I hang out there with my dogs, but during extreme weather it has become unusable. They made an appointment which they kept, the actual owner came out promptly, assessed my situation and listened to what I wanted to accomplish and proposed a solution. The next week they arrived and installed the mini-split solution they suggested, complete with the electrical adaptation, exactly according to the specifications agreed upon. This was a few months ago, and now that I have a foster dog in a crate in that same garage, it occurred to me that the confidence we have in letting her stay there when we are gone, is because of the quality of the installation and how well everything works. I'm really grateful for the very professional demeanor and quality service that was provided, really enjoy being able do things in that space without overheating, and I highly recommend this company for their professionalism and quality of service, especially if you need someone to make and assessment and present you with solutions for your unique situation. read more

Scott Heating came up with an individual environmental plan for our home. They installed everything including building a container for our heat pump. Danny was so professional and very understanding of my situation. He provided flexibility to accommodate us on Saturday and have his tech Tony come out to assist us on the same day. Other local places were trying to offer next business day or even a week later. I was extremely happy of the timing Danny provided. Danny provided that the tech, Tony, would be able to come at 11-2 on that Saturday. Same day! Tony showed up to our home at about 10:50 am. I was so pleased with how punctual he was. Tony was very thorough and took the time to listen on what was occurring. Once he checked out the AC, he then took the time to to educate me with great detail on what he was going to replace. Needed an assessment of a small room at the beginning of the Summer. Scott's was busy, but the owner made it by and assessed the room size, occupancy and provided details of work needed. He said I would receive an estimate by 5 pm that same day. The estimate arrived at 3:30 pm. We set a date and time for the work. The job was completed at the said time. Called them last year for them to look at our upstairs unit that was not cooling. I remember the technician showing up at around 5:30 and rushing through everything, I mean, who works after 5:30 pm? At least that was my impression. After checking the unit and vents, he told me that the unit was running low on gas, but that the air coming out of the vents was still reasonable at 65 degrees. He added more gas and then said that the upstairs wasn't cooling enough simply because of the way the vents were built. Let's blame it on the builder now! Interesting because it's the same system downstairs. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when the issue started again. I called another company. I had explained what the previous person had said. The gas was low again, but these people did what this guy didn't do - because it was 5:30 and he was on a rush. They ran a leak test and voila! There was the issue. The fact that this person brushed off the issue, perhaps because he was in a hurry or maybe because he didn't have sufficient experience or knowledge, is reason enough for a one star rating and for not doing business with this company again. read more

We couldn't be happier with the service we received from Scott Heating, Cooling and Plumbing. We had a major HVAC project done August 2023. The owner came to our home twice to explain the project and what he would do if it was his home. Scott definitely knows his stuff! We had our outside unit changed because our previous unit was a little undersized, along with new flex ductwork, new OBD registers, a supplemental return installed as well as the kitchen register was increased in size and a new supply register created over our kitchen island. We also had our attic sprayed with more insulation at the end of the project and we couldn't be more happy with the outcome of everything. The office staff was great in getting us scheduled as well as the city inspection being accomplished. I was really impressed by Joseph and Isaac who did the work for us. These gentlemen are the EPITOME of professionalism. They were very polite and respectful and went above and beyond in my opinion. They were extremely knowledgeable. No shows on their employees We called this company late last night, (July 4th) based on the reviews and that they were 24hours. Our AC unit quit blowing cold air and our homes temp was in the 90s. We were told someone would be out at 9am today.(July 5th) 9am passed and noone showed. My husband called the guy who answered and sounded as If he just woke up Asking my husband if 11am was better. Extremely disappointed. Even with a holiday-- shouldn't make appointments for customers if they can't make them. read more

Update regarding pre-existing problem with my system. Ac would not cool. Fan comes on but the compressor would not kick on; an ongoing-chronic issue for five years since I've had the unit (not installed by Scott). Techs, Irvin and Adrian C. promptly came to house, patiently listened to my long explanation and went up to unit to do a diagnostic. Adrian found out thermostat was improperly installed by the installers. He adjusted to make room for wiring and all wirings to make proper contacts. The guys are courteous and professional. Called for a quote to clear a sink drain and was told the price would be from $125-225, depending upon whether it required the short or the long "snake". The service call took 40 minutes from arrival to invoicing, and the charge was $220. I had gotten other quotes for less money, but would have had to wait, even though this was during regular business hours, and I knew that the short machine would be all that was needed, so I agreed to go with Scott Heating & Cooling. When I disputed the amount with the plumber, he connected me back to the office, where the dispatcher who had given me the price said, "I'm not a plumber. The plumber determines the price." This was a scam, charging me almost a full $100 over what should have been charged. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO. BEWARE!!!! I have worked with a couple other AC companies in El Paso, and my experience with this company has been great. Not only did they arrive in a timely manner, but they actually explained everything to me. We have 3 units (it's a commercial property) and the front one is now running better than it has in years. And they are currently working on repairing the other two. Another company had been out 3 times prior to me calling Scott and the other company had be convinced that the only way to fix the problem was by adding another unit. I had moved here from VA and had a great HVAC team. My A/C had stopped. I reached out to the people who installed my refrigerated A/C. They never called me back. So I looked on the Westside for an alternative. Called Scott Heating and Cooling. They came out quickly as possible. They told me what to do in the meantime. I followed the directions. It was 89° in my house! They came in, were very professional, appearance was proper and went to work. Turned out it was a dirty filter and a clogged elbow. They replaced the filter and showed me how to do it. Told me I should replace every 3 months. Flushed out the clog and inspected thoroughly to see if there was any other problem. Nothing else was wrong. Both techs were knowledgeable and courteous. I decided I wanted them to do my yearly inspections! I love their commercial where the owner "Scotty" comes on and says he GUARANTEES his workmanship and they have dependable service. Wow!! What a crock. Just rehashing the lousy job they did for us. They send a guy out to try to solve our problem because for some reason our front bedroom(upstairs) was always hot even with the A/C going. We had to install a window unit as well(pre Scott Heating). Guy comes out and puts a hole in our wall and installs a vent that he tells me will suck out some of the hot air and pour it back into the foyer. He showed me where he was putting the vent...behind the bedroom door. I asked if that would affect it since the door is blocking the vent. He said no. So I told him to do it. Well after about a month or so it didn't work AT ALL!!! Called Scott and they gave me the complete run around. They blamed me because I gave their guy permission to do the job. Of course I did because he said it would work. Office manager Adrian said the guy that did the work was an a**hole and they fired him because he didn't know what he was doing(he was terminated before I complained). Scott wouldn't back up their work. I told them I wanted my $250 back and to repair the hole in my wall. Got nothing but "NO" for an answer. Bottom line was because their tech was an a**hole and didn't know what he was doing Scotts felt they weren't responsible for the work that THEIR REPRESENTATIVE told me would work. Hey Scotty, why don't you own up to your mistakes? Oh yeah and I did say to Adrian that "Karma is a bi**h" and Scotty took that as I was threatening him. What a joke this company is. I had four quotes for a new AC unit. The quote from Scott Contracting was the best, they installed a 4 ton unit with upgraded vents and a touch screen thermostat. The other quotes which were similar in cost were for a four ton with no upgraded vents and no touchscreen thermostat. Scott contracting was on time for everything, extremely professional and they even finished earlier than I expected. I would recommend them 100%! read more

Own the problem, it'll improve your business --- Scott, it's simple don't waste your energy defending the mistake and definitely don't play victim when you were paid for 3 hours of service you didn't perform. Get the facts, be accountable for your organizations mistakes and place your energies towards creating proper escalation path in your organization, a defined pricing model of hourly or by project (don't change the rules in the middle of the game) and invest in customer service training when things go south(like now) to ensure you and your team give 100% BEST service, not just 65% and trying because there were several breakdowns that cost the customer money and people are at your mercy when it's 105 degrees outside. As customers we understand things happen, but when you defend wrong doing you'll still get some business, but you'll also lose much, much more by word of mouth (not just Yelp) no matter how much you invest in advertising. So, to clear up your attempt at defending your lack of accountability and willingness to deal with a customer issues I'll give the facts which you still have no clue of based on the numbers you reference. Your team tried to charge me over $2,250. It was through my own efforts it was reduced by $1,300. After your team told me they searched their system and it wasn't under warranty (yes I even sent them a clear picture of the part number and serial number) I dealt with the manufacturer myself and then sent your staff the point of contact, phone number of the manufacturer and then finally, they reduced the $1,300. Your team probably didn't search the system. And now because you don't like my feedback how many other customers are being fraudulently charged because you don't check your system as to why it didn't match up with the manufactures. So this leaves the $950 which was for 4-6 hours of labor. The job took less than 3 hours. Why don't you attempt to explain why a customer being charged for 3 extra hours? And oh by the way why would I be told of the $70 hourly rate if you charge by project? Because your team switched it and was dishonest, and incredibly, you are defending that dishonest way of doing business. And you're the owner!? You should be open to the honest feedback. In my review I didn't say you did poor technical work, in fact I stated the opposite and I stated you have dishonest business practices, and now poor leadership. I gave the pros and cons constructively. If your customers don't bring it to your attention how would you even know a problem exist? You mention lack of payment, but I bet your staff didn't tell you I handed them payment and asked what the adjusted rate is given the job took less than 3 hours. He couldn't get any management to empower him or talk with me (zero escalation path) furthermore I suggested charging it for the 3 hours until you figure it out and he chose not to. He handed me back payment and said the owner or a VP would get back with me, which you nor a VP did. Instead you tried to claim I stole services, how silly, you didn't even mail me an invoice LOL. Anyway, you did get paid. And to this day for 3 service hours you didn't perform. So the FACT is your team and organization delayed payment and never escalated the issue to you. Or they did and you avoided it. Why? That's what I had hoped you'd tell me, but you've had my phone number for months and I have yet to hear from you. Most businesses accept responsibility and do the right thing. If your business suffers it's not because anything I did, it's what you did or shall I say didn't do (the right thing). I've since found two other great companies in El Paso to handle HVAC but I didn't reference them in my first review, because I'm not trying to hurt your business as you claim. Be a better owner not a victim and fix the problems. Meanwhile, my word of mouth feedback is STAY AWAY. And for even more reasons now. Own the problem, it'll improve your business. read more

By taking the time to review my contract and verifying that i had a warranty, all the repairs were done at no cost. Would i recommend Scotts to others? The company was called out to perform preventive maintenance on my home's ac units. I paid up front for two visit. The technician performing the work was there for 30 minutes and said everything was working perfectly with no leaks. A month later, one of my units was blowing warm air. I called them again and they sent a different technician to inspect the unit. This one informed me the unit had been leaking for a while and further work was needed. I was given three options: 1) New System 6300.00 2) Replace evaporators coil 1875.00 3) Add leak sealant 488.00. Because of the conflicting stories from the technicians, I decided to get a second opinion. A different company came out and said the diagnosis given by Scott Heating and Cooling was wrong. He further explained the valve where the gauges get connected to was the issue. They replaced the caps, filled the unit with the little Freon needed and the unit was repaired.
