I thought I should offer my opinion as a counterweight to the negative one expressed by Beverly. Dr. Miscovitch is AMAzing. I'm in my 50s and doc is the best PCP I've ever had. My urologist recommended him to me and I had to make a point of thanking my uro for pointing me in Dr. Miscovitch's direction. When you're speaking with him he's 100% engaged. He's smart as a whip, intuitive and caring. Doctors are required to have you come in before they'll issue refills for certain scripts Beverly. It's not a ploy to drag you in for an unnecessary visit. To the contrary, by the sounds of it, you're someone they'd rather not see unless it was absolutely necessary. Generally those meds are the ones that make you drowsy. Which is probably why you got drowsy behind the wheel. If you'd bothered to read the warnings on the script you'd have found that out. Which is probably just what the office manager was trying to tell you. I hate YELP for some of the nasty take-downs and character assaults some people find it necessary to publish. I'm writing this to counter that. And because I love my doctor. read more

Because the first time I ever saw Scott Miscovich really needed him as a PCP and he was there for me. The best part about it was he's so personable and he's got the best bedside manner ever! Terrible medical office. They don't return phone calls, their back office is dirty, I witnessed a staff not cleaning his medical equipment after use he tossed it on the counter. It's very frustrating talking to anyone on the phone, their language is Pigeon and they come across as being in a hurry to get you off the phone. Calling their office is the worst, NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. Needed to change the medication asap, it made me nauseated and extreme dizzyness, NOT A PHONE CALL BACK. Absolutely horrible service. CONTACTING THE OFFICE: I was unable to get in touch with anyone though we'd tried for weeks -last year- and when I finally got through (by working my way through every phone menu option) we were told "you shouldn't have waited until the last minute to call for a refill". Refill was finally submitted to the pharmacy, 2 follow up calls and 6 hours later. I've been trying to call them now for over a week and though I've left multiple messages, I've not received a return call yet even though they "are committed to returning every message within 24 business hours". Today when I called, the voicemail box was full. Other medical offices and pharmacies have a hard time getting in touch with them also. One of my doctors has been trying to get our records for the past few months with no response from this office. Honestly, I'm curious to know how anyone even gets through if they need to make an appointment. BILLING: On multiple occasions we've received bills YEARS after the appointment allegedly took place even though we always ask to pay anything owed at the time of the visit. Just received a bill today for services we didn't even have. MEDICAL SERVICE: I once went in with serious health issues (tightness in chest and tingly arm) and the concerns were brushed off because the PA didn't believe me. I've been a patient of theirs since 2011 and I only met Dr Miscovich on my first appointment. After that, it's all PA's. Dr. Miscovich has been my primary care physician for the past 2 years after I was hurt at work. He is the kind of doctor whose primary focus is on the wellness and well being of each and every patient. I'm not one to enjoy going to the doctors but I look forward to each visit! From the front staff that fell almost like family now to not so little Lucy dropping in to say hello and the care staff in the back who also feel like family! This is without a doubt the worst Doctors office, I've ever experienced. In the middle of Covid my Company changed insurance. I ended up with pneumonia and came here out of convenience. I was happy with the treatment I received, so I chose them as my preferred provider. What a disappointing choice. The office is so poorly run. Nobody EVER answers the phone. You may get lucky if you call 10 or more times in a row. If you decide to wait through the lengthy message and leave one of your own, don't expect a call back. I've left several messages I have never gotten a return call. I was finally lucky enough after calling 12 times to get an appointment. I was told at the appointment that my caregiver was going on maternity leave at the end of the week. I immediately went for my X-rays and blood test. By Friday with no return call, I got on the phone and repeatedly called, after 10 calls, and a 15 minute wait, I spoke with someone who pulled up my test. She assured me, after my care givers next two appointments and lunch, I would get a return call. Nope, never happened. Here it is the next day and I have literally called 15 times. No sense in leaving another message. I guess it's time for a grievance through my Insurance Company. read more

I am a 68-year old union crane operator who raised 6-kids as a single dad. As a lifelong resident of Oahu, I searched long and hard to find a family physician that is friendly, an excellent diagnostician and who cuts right to the chase while working with you to keep your medical exam costs and lab tests to a minimum. If there were a way to give this doctor more than 5-stars I absolutely would without hesitation. As an aside, I have read some of the negative reviews and find them unfair because they are actually venting and reviewing office staff and not the actual doctor. I learned early on in my life that both doctors and nurses are in a service business and actually work for the patient, and not the other way around. All too often patients get talked down to by office staff or medical assistants, but they don't say anything about it at the time. Folks, I am NOT a person that can be treated like that and I can assure you that if an office person, medical assistant, PA or nurse talks down to me or gets high-handed with me, I put them in their place right then and there just to keep us on a level playing field. In sum, Dr. Miscovich is the best there is. But don't reduce his rating simply because you failed to speak up to an office person or write a strongly worded letter telling Dr. Miscovich how you felt about the way that you were treated by someone in his employ. read more

What can I say or where should I start... Honestly what the hell is wrong with this place? The front staff have no clue what is going on or what they are doing. To even get a appointment you have to call at least 20 times. And you can say oh it's because "covid-19 is messing things up" I mean sure, but it's been like this pre covid. Can't get ahold of them doctors don't give a shit about you they really are incompetent and don't care. I mean dam Miscovich may be a good doc but clearly has poor business skills as his office is a shit show. Can't even get my blood work results after a month... Can't even get a appointment till a month... Then when you do show up they fuck your appointment up LOL. I was a patient of Dr. Miscovich for 4 years. I only visited him when I really wasn't feeling well so, I probably saw him a total of 5-6 times within 4 years. The last time I went to his office I was having issues with my foot and needed to be referred to a podiatrist. Dr. Miscovich was always kind each time I saw him HOWEVER... his STAFF is absolutely horrible. They are rude, untimely, incompetent and misinforms their patients. Dr. Miscovich sent me for an X-ray on my foot and said, "if it comes back with no broken bones and it still hurts I'll refer you to a podiatrist." The X-ray technician did the X-ray and afterwards told me that she couldn't give me the results and Dr. Miscovich would have to tell me. So, I waited for a week and didn't receive a follow up call from Dr. Miscovich or his office. I called to see what was going on with my X-Ray and it literally took me 20 times to get through to someone! When the receptionist finally answered the phone she said, "Dr. Miscovich's office, please hold." Then, she had me on hold for 5 minutes (which is a long time when you've already called 20 times.) The receptionist came back to the phone and I explained to her how I hadn't received any correspondence about my foot X-ray. She then says, "Oh, what's your name? You're fine! I'm looking at your charts right now. You're fine." I said, "What do you mean I'm fine?" She says, "It's not broken, you're fine." I Then say, "Well, my foot still hurts, can I get a referral to a podiatrist?" She says, "No, You need to make another appointment for a referral." I said, "why do I need to make a follow up appointment?" She then says, "because something could be wrong with your foot. It could be a tare or sprang." I say, "You just told me my foot was fine but really you don't know because it could be sprang and you're not really qualified to tell me the results of my X-ray, right? I was told a Dr. needed to tell me the results. Had I not pressured you for an answer I'd be walking away thinking I'm just fine because you told me my results without enough experience of reading X-rays!" (I was livid!) So, she scheduled me for Friday with someone who wasn't Dr. Miscovich. Then I thought to myself... this is ridiculous, I don't want to see someone else when Dr. Miscovich told me he would refer me. They just want my money. I have to pay each time I'm seen at this office. So I tried to call back to cancel my appointment and no one answered after I called 13 times. So, I went to the office. There was no one at the front desk when I walked up. So, I called the office line as I was standing at the front desk, the receptionist walks up, looks at the phone and ignores it. Then says to me, "appointment?" I told her no and explained how frustrating it is that I called over 30 times total and can barely reach anyone. She says, "we're short staffed." I continued to explain the situation and she immediately gets defensive (obviously she was the individual I spoke with.) I told her I don't want to be seen if it's not with Dr. Miscovich and I just want a referral. She says, "well Dr. Miscovich isn't here right now. He's at lunch." I ask her "when will he be back? When will you follow up with me?" She says, "he should be back within the next 30 mins to an hour. I'll give you a call before the end of the day and let you know what he says." So, I waited for 2 hours and I called the office back. NO ANSWER! I go back to the office and ask "what's the status of my referral?" The receptionist says, "oh, I didn't get a chance to ask him." At this time, it's 30 mins until the end of the day. So, she sends another receptionist to the back to ask Dr. Miscovich and he approves my referral. I asked to speak to Dr. Miscovich or a PA to tell him about his staff. The other receptionist insist on me telling her why I want to speak to the Dr. and why I can't address my issue with the receptionist I have a problem with? I asked her for the office manager's phone number and she had an attitude while giving it to me. I called the manager and she never returned my call. So, I called her 5 times until we spoke. I informed her of the danger of a receptionist who is not trained reading off the X-rays. I finally went to a podiatrist and I actually have to have surgery on my foot. Imagine had I not pressured the issue? Dr. Miscovich is NOT a bad Dr. but if his staff is what represents him, I would not recommend his office. read more

I call back after a week every time I go there. And nothing is done. I have spent hours on the phone at least 2 to 3 times a week. I leave multiple messages days in a row and they never return calls. Every time they tell me they are short staffed. I am trying to switch doctors as this is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. Its been 3 months and I haven't even gotten the MRI done yet because they forgot to fax the order to the claims adjuster and it took 2 months to get anything done at all. Screw you guys Miscovich. Too many non-physician providers seeing patients. Hard to keep track of what's going on, what's being prescribed. At one point a certain medication was documented in chart note, but a totally different one billed to insurance company. There are plenty of good doctors around, avoid this place if possible. read more

I choose Dr. Miscovich, because when I met him as a new patient, I l thought he'd be a right fit. However, any apt I have had, I've gotten different people and have NOT seen him since. I am completely unhappy with the actual service I receive (trying to make an apt is difficult because the phones just ring and they do not return messages left). When I meet with each new "doctor", I have had to re-explain my issues EVERY TIME (I suffer from PTSD-which attributes to my anxiety and depression). Additionally, if you want your refills pushed in a timely manner, this place is not for you. It takes them 24-72 hours and you have to call everyday to make sure they keep you on their radar. One time, they didn't refill it fast enough and I went through withdrawal symptoms (it was just Lexipro, a non-narcotic) and ended up in the psych hospital!!! Also, out of 5 prescriptions they provided me, I walked them to Walgreens and all of them got kicked back for being written inaccurately. So then I had to walk back, get them fixed and then walk back to the pharmacy. And, if your pharmacy pushes a prescription to them, do not expect it to be approved same day. Again, they have 24-72 hours to refill it. Therefore, if you like to waste your time, this is the doctor for you. Lastly, when I told them that this was the last straw (and I was very kind), I asked to be removed as a patient and to canx my next psych appt. I also asked them to please have Dr. Miscovich contact me so I can give him a heads up on the review I was going to write. She said "she'd try".....you would try to give him a message?!?! And she didn't seem to care that I no longer wanted to be a patient. This is when I truly felt that they didn't care about me as a patient or a person. I was just a dollar sign. On the flip side, they are all pleasant to your face and I've never had a problem getting an appt once I am able to actually reach them :-/ My feelings are that they are there to make money and not necessarily care about customer care. Just my thoughts and I would encourage you to see someone else...ANYONE else would be better. After this last episode in getting my prescription refilled, I have since cancelled my care with them. I can be seen faster, with better care and for the same amount at an Urgent Care. I am not a disgruntled patient, I have a Master's degree and have a very successful career. In fact, I have NEVER written a bad review before. But I created a Yelp account just so I can warn others to be very cautious in using this place for your medical needs. I have been a patient for the past 3 years and have not been seen by Dr. Miscovich once! I have only been seen by Dr. Shay who I believe is a PA. She is good, and I really like her, but I went there initially to see Dr. Miscovich. Although all my face-to-face interactions with Dr. Shay were great, she does not do a good job with follow up. One time after I did blood work, a staff member called me to schedule a telephone appointment to go over my results. On the date and time, no one called. I waited 15 minutes and then finally called. I only got the answering machine. I left a message, but continued to call until they were closed. I never got a call back ever! Needless to say, I changed doctors. read more

rating should be no stars. Please stay away. Receptionist is very unprofessional and rude. Receptionist is the face of the establishment and I don't know how this doctor can keep her on staff for this long. She also doesn't bill your medical insurance until a year later, even after telling them over and over to BILL MEDICAL INSURANCE FIRST... so be prepared to receive the full amount to pay multiple times and have your medical decline it since its been over a year. The doctor also almost killed my mom by sending in the wrong prescription-she is allergic to it. Good thing longs pharmacy is on top of it and refused to give to my mom. read more

(this is not a joke) I needed to call to change my appointment time and now I cant because they won't answer. I called and left a message last friday and never got a call back. The front staff are terrible. They see you walk in the door and don't ask to help you until you stand right in front of them for a while. I stood there for 10 mins at the front counter while the girl glanced at me and then went back to something on her computer without saying a word. Finally I went to a different desk to check in. I moved to the Kaneohe area two years ago and have been looking for a doctor since. I'm so glad to have come across this practice! Right as I walked in the receptionist was friendly and helped with any questions I had. I had to wait a little while because they were slammed with patients, nothing compared to other places. When Dr. Miscovich came into my room he was polite, quick wit, relatable, and compassionate. He made sure that all my questions were answered and that all the care I need could be taken care of right there. I was also able to get my TB test there. The nurses were great and super helpful. I called this office and the staff was totally rude. I was referred by another doctor and the first question she asks is what type of insurance I have. I have HSMA preferred provider plan. She wanted me to call Hmsa to check that I didn't have an assigned pcp. Ridiculous. I consulted with a friend who works for Hmsa and she never heard of such a thing. She also said he could pick and choose his clients. Obviously this doctor only cares about Money and wants to be sure he gets paid. I could afford him but his staff was so rude. I came here because I needed to have a PCP for my insurance. First of all they don't call or anything to remind you of your appointment like most offices, good thing I keep a calendar. I arrived for my appointment 15 early and went to check in the receptionist obviously can't multi task she looked right at me and kept talking to someone behind the desk then answered the phone and started helping them. I sat down before I snapped at her. I watched her do it to someone else then she said do you have an appointment I walked up gave my paperwork. So from the start horrible. I have worked for a lot of doctors in the past and I would never get away with treating the patients like this staff does. Do not go here. The doctor seems nice enough but the staff is awful. I have been trying to get the results of bloodwork I had done 1-2 weeks ago for the last week with no success and I need medications filled (since I am all out) and have not been able to get that either. I Have called and left messages and no one calls me back. I will not be back to this office. Looking for a new doctor so soon. Wow It only took one visit. I love Dr. Miscovich, but his receptionist Kelly is so frustrating. Every month I have the same prescriptions filled and every month Kelly messes up. I called yesterday morning to make sure my prescription would be called in and she said she would do it by the end of the day. I waited and waited and got nothing. So I resumed to calling the doctor's office at 8:30 this morning and called almost every hour until closing. I really needed my medicine by tonight. She had a different excuse each time. It's either she got busy or she forgot. I called one more time before Dr. Miscovich's office closed and she said that she had just called it in. So when my boyfriend went to pick it up after work and it wasn't there, we were both very annoyed. I had to call physicians exchange to get in touch with Dr. Shay, talk to her receptionist, call the pharmacy, and have my boyfriend go back to the pharmacy to pick up my meds. It's now 8:30 at night....This is a lot of work for someone with a chronic illness! Don't get me wrong. Kelly has a very sweet personality and I was in no way rude to her on the phone. But, there's only so much a patient can put up with. read more
