I have to recommend the Stove and Spa Shop of Atascadero. I purchased a Hearthstone Sterling DV gas…read moreFreestanding Stove about a month ago and we just got it installed. First I will say that Wes came out and showed us the best placement for our stove, he then came out on the delivery day and participated in the installation. There was a gas line that needed to be installed and the contractor contacted Wes and got direction from him. Ultimately there were a couple of places for the gas line to end up, one easy the other not as. Wes suggested the location that was more difficult and I now.. know why, it is hidden nicely and if it weren't for Wes, it would not have been placed there. Next the install. It took a long time to do the install and a couple of unforeseen hiccups took place. Wes worked through them, none of them his fault....and completed our installation in a very professional manner. Every aspect done correctly and perfectly. The House that I have is fairly new and well insulated. It is 2840 Square Feet and the unit we purchased will heat an 1800 Square foot home. 38,000 BTU. We expected that it would do a good job but are blown away by how well it ACTUALLY performed. Currently we are able to keep our main living area at 70+ degrees and hallways to the bedrooms as same. We are surprised by how hot the stove is and how well it heats. We have a ceiling fan on that circulates the heat and all is good. After a couple of nights now, we are in the 30s outside and the stove is keeping most of our living area in the 70 range. Here is the cool part, This stove is on LOW. We don't have a need to turn it to high as it will cook you out of the room. If you are considering a gas freestanding stove, don't hesitate....purchase it and take Wes's advice on the installation. He knows what he is doing. Potentially if it gets into the teens, as it can do here, we may need to turn it on high. So far, no need to. Thanks gang at the Stove and Spa Shop of Atascadero. Clark was a pleasure to work with and he came out to our house a couple of times to measure and answer our questions. He was flexible in accommodating our needs and the process was very quick from start to finish. We are already in the process of rehiring him for another project at our house. We highly recommend 101 Cast Stone.

Very pleased! First, carefully study the websites gallery, then showroom and the printed catalog!…read moreYou will see examples that show fireplace surrounds can mix and match pilasters, plymphs, mantels, legs, hearths... an amazing product line!!! You'll also see pictures of big gorgeous surrounds squeezed into small spaces or between windows leaving little wall space where less would have been more! So get a handle of the reality of your project space!! We picked out styles we liked then went to the showroom. Dan was very smart to let us get our bearings because there is so much to see and consider. He was a 'no pressure' guy, answering our questions, providing additional info & giving us samples to take home. Sharon came to our home to measure etc but she more importantly she had a really good eye for aesthetics and proportions... and could paint the picture for us. She helped us decide on the elegant unobtrusive surround (38" Milgro 44" total height) (to go on a wall between 2 windows) that met our needs for an intimate living room setting (people focused, not fireplace focused). The price was reasonable. Clark and Shane did the install, using tarps, ongoing cleanup, and going extra mile. They were a pleasure to have in our home. The end result is a surround that's gorgeous and proportionate to the space!! And the bonus?... we met a crew of really pleasant people!

They finished a countertop replacement yesterday where we replaced old granite countertops with new quartzite. In addition to a change in stone, we also added some features like stone windowsills details, a stone backsplash and shelf behind the oven, and a waterfall edge on the peninsula. The process was ideal from start to finish. Ben was responsive and always very helpful. He listened to what we wanted and made suggestions and gave us options to get a finished product we are thrilled about. They went the extra mile to make our house livable between demo and installation. His team was friendly to my whole family (including the dog). We have worked with a handful of vendors during our remodel and Epic Stone stood out for the experience working with them and the finished product. I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for stone work.

Granite, though, has the distinct quality of being dangerously heavy and somewhat delicate, so when the seam between granite pieces on my center island started to split, I knew i needed to call in a pro. The folks at Epic stone couldn't have been more professional. They gave me a no pressure quote over the phone and got me in within a week. I ended up having them fix the seam and drill a hole in the counter for a garbage disposal air switch. The gentleman they sent out had the rare combination of being extremely detail oriented and fun to talk to. He took his time blending different epoxy colors to make the new seam as unnoticeable as possible (and did a far better job than the builders did on the original seam). When he was done, he had me inspect his work and showed me everywhere the stone was slightly uneven around the seam (caused by house settling or original installation issues); fortunately they were very minor. He also offered to buff a corner of the slab that had chipped over the years free of charge. Like I said, I don't enjoy calling out for repair, but I wouldn't hesitate to have epic stone back the next time I need something.
