I was then asked to provide a California ID before receiving any numbers, which I declined until I could review the full pricing details. After that, I was told that management believed I was not ready to purchase and I was asked to leave the dealership. I had a very frustrating experience this morning at Scott Robinson Honda. When I arrived for service, there were two lanes. I pulled into the first lane behind another vehicle, while another driver pulled into the second lane behind me. After the first car in my lane was assisted, I stepped out to get a staff member's attention. I was told by Kevin, "we'll be right there with you, if you're not in your car we will skip you and move on to the next," but also instructed to wait in my car or risk being skipped, which already felt dismissive and unprofessional. Shortly after, a staff member came out and assisted the driver who had arrived after me in the second lane without confirming who was actually next. This unnecessarily prolonged my wait and created confusion that could have easily been avoided with basic communication. When I pointed this out, I was told that the other driver had said she was next, but again, no one bothered to verify with me, even though I had clearly been waiting longer. What made the experience worse is that there was no one outside actively managing or greeting customers in the service lanes. Instead, staff were inside on their computers while customers waited outside with no direction or acknowledgment. A basic system or even one person coordinating the lanes would have prevented this entire situation. By that point, I was already frustrated with how everything was handled and ultimately chose to leave. The issue wasn't just the wait, it was the lack of organization, poor communication, and dismissive attitude from staff. A simple check-in or acknowledgment would have made a big difference. The service department is completely unethical and will try to rip you off for thousands of dollars on repairs and parts that are not needed and made up. I met a friend there who had to drop off their car because it would not start and had to be towed in as they have been loyal customer for years. The service agent Oscar said they will troubleshoot it and get back to us. The next day he called and listed 5-6 parts that needed to be replaced for a total of over 4K. two of the repairs were $1,500.00 each and the components were bad according to Oscar. When we pushed back he got very defensive especially when he was told we would take the car to another repair shop. We had the car towed to a AAA rated business and explained what we were told by Scott Robinson service department. They called back in a couple of hours and said the parts and service we were quoted did not require replacement or servicing. They then gave us price for two of the items that were of a "it can wait but if you want to take care of them now" for 50% less of what was quoted by Scott Robinson. The service agent flat out lied about repairs that were not needed. This was not like an up sell of wiper blades or something like that. This was a blatant deception to line his pockets with commissions off his lies about repairs that were not needed. Stay away for these liars and thieves! read more
