I have been taking my 2005 330 here for years and they always give me an honest estimate - they won't talk you into additional recommended service like the dealers do. It's hard to find warm hearted kind people now a days. Owning a Bmw as most individuals know is very expensive. I just replaced my battery and it needed to be registered to the car. A simple process that most dealerships would charge an hour or two of labor on. This process only takes a few minutes time. I called Ray and he said he could fit me right away. I drove to his shop and he quickly brought his high tech computer scan tool out and coded my battery for me in minutes. I was on my way in a very short time. Before choosing him I called a few other shops for pricing and they all seemed to be about the same. Once the job was done, the bill was way less than quoted! He said remember me in the future and have a great day. Well, I hope everyone reads this review and gives him a shot with their Bmw. I'll definitely be back. Ray was very nice and friendly. I went to Scott's Motor Werks to get my adaptive headlight fixed (it was pointing up). I had to take an Uber from the shop to my work and back (since they do not offer a loaner) and waited for 2 days just so I can be told, and I quote "He doesn't want to work on your car"....No explanation of why or what the problem is. I guess working on any BMWs built after 2001 is not their thing. read more

Ray has taken care of my cars for years. I was excited when he took over Scott's Motor Werks a couple of years ago. His new shop is a little further from my house but well worth the trip. You won't find anyone more familiar and expert at repairing BMWs. Ray and Jeff do not recommend unneeded repairs and know the lifecycle of the cars they work on. They can fix (and often predict) the common problems and even the very obscure ones - far better than the dealer. Ray always takes the time to explain what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix the problem. When I had to buy a used car for my daughter recently, I looked specifically for a 3 series BMW because I am confident Ray knows how to care for it. He looks after my family's 2 E46s - 2002 & 2004- 325i and 1 E90 - 2011 328i. BMW makes great cars and Ray know how to care for them! read more

I found Scott's after the other repair shop we had been using closed down and I'm glad we did. They did a great job and were honest. I took it in for what I thought was a serious issue and it ended up just being a loose cable to my power steering which was a lot less expensive than I was expecting. There is no better BMW service in town. When it comes to BMW, Ray and his staff of mechanics know exactly what is needed for your car. I have a 300 and a 500 and I quit going to the BMW dealerships a long time ago. The service at Scott's Motor Werks is always efficient and timely and your BMW will be on the road in no time at all. I have been taking my cars to Scott's Motor Werks for years. Ray, the owner, is always there to answer your questions and explain his findings. You can go in and leave your BMW with confidence that only the work you need will be performed with no up sell on any unwarranted work. Let's not forget how reasonable his prices are. Ray is the most friendly and trustworthy and knowledgable BMW manager/owner hands down. Just call him up and ask him anything (and I do mean ANYTHING) about an e46 and he will tell you what the problem is and what it would cost. Can't get that at a dealer or a neighborhood repair shop. Its not easy to find a good BMW/MINI mechanic, but Scott's is as good as I've found in the phoenix area. Ray is very nice, the work was good quality, reasonably priced (as much as can be for a MINI), and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want or need. If I need another repair in Arizona, I will definitely go there again. read more

Was a customer of Phoenix Bimmer Specialists, which closed and referred their customers to Scotts Motor Werks. Since then, I've called Scotts at least 5 times during normal business hours, on various days, trying to get an appointment to bring in my car for service. Nobody has ever answered the phone, and nobody has ever called me back despite my leaving a polite message every time. If they can't be bothered to answer their phone or return messages to book appointments, I doubt they can be trusted to repair a car. read more

Ray and Jeff are awesome. I'm so tired of being over charged and having to endure up-selling for this and that. They never once have taken advantage of me/my car's situation and I've literally lost count over the years of how much money they have saved me when other shops stated I needed this that and the other...You can tell much about a business by just the cleanliness and attention to detail of their establishment. I will go out of my way, take a vacation day, just to bring my car in when needed. While I seem to be loosing faith in everything else, from my cell phone provider to my cable provider, when my car acts up...it's nice to know I have an ace in the hole when it comes to Scott's Motor Werks. read more

My experience was mixed, falling short where it matters most to me: quality of workmanship. First off, upon meeting the owner, Ray, I was really impressed. Super nice guy and seemed very knowledgeable about these persnickety cars. So I left him my late model BMW sedan for an air-conditioning issue, which I feared was a leaky evaporator. Thankfully it wasn't and they accurately diagnosed the issue as an easily-accessible, broken AC compressor wire under the hood. For a very fair price, his mechanic fixed that wire and another broken wire they discovered near the gas tank. Everything worked great when I picked it up. I did a quick inspection under the hood before leaving, and noticed that the "fixed" wire was not routed the same way it was before - it was now hanging over (but not touching) the exhaust manifold, which gets VERY hot. The mechanic said he would have placed conduit around the wire to protect it, but that he had "run out." Well, OK. Not a big deal, I told him, I have some in my garage at home and would take care of that. Upon opening the hood the next day after a short drive, the electrical tape he had used to wrap the repaired wire was gooey from the heat and, worse, it was now touching the manifold, causing a wee bit of smoke to rise. Upon closer examination, I realized the mechanic had misrouted the wire entirely, removing it from the wire harness brackets on the engine block and AC compressor that are there to keep it away from the exhaust manifold. Did I mention that these exhaust manifolds get VERY hot? Had I not "repaired the repair," the electrical tape and wire insulation would certainly have continued to melt, leaving exposed wire touching the metal manifold. Not good. Of course, after fixing this problem, I immediately went to the back of the car to look at that repair and found the repaired section of wire hanging below the rear bumper cover. Unfortunately, it too had not been placed back into the correct wire harness. Again, had to "repair the repair." Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. BTW, I left a VM message with the owner to tell him what happened and never received an apology or call back. read more
