Dan and Jeff really set me up this week. My very elderly 4runner was not starting and I had it towed to them over at Scott's Motor Werks. I gave them kind of a soft budget along the lines of "call me if it starts to get crazy" and they understood The assignment perfectly. They did quite a lot of work for the price, addressed reasonable related issues, but never tried to upsell me on unnecessary things. They did exactly what they said and kept it in the budget. They also did it in a timely fashion. I don't think it's reasonable to expect any mechanic to be chasing ghosts and have it done in a few days, but they had me in and out in 3 business days. Really an excellent turnaround time for what others would have taken MUCH longer to do. Thanks to Jeff and Dan for taking care of my old sentimental vehicle with lots of strange old car issues. Omg...they are so knowledgeable and fast service. Daniel was such an expert on my BMW 2019 M550i Xdrive. Prices are insanely cheap compared to the dealer. Just on spark plugs replacement job, I save about $850 from the dealer quote. And they use actual BMW parts not aftermarket. I did front brakes, spark plugs and coils, oil change and air filters. He called later and let us know what the issue was(starter) gave a price and said they'd call us when it was completed. Called a few hours later, had her running and they let us know we need tires. Perfect. They also registered the new battery for us 2 days later as our battery was shot. So we have found the place to take the BMW. NO! To Scott's Motor Werks. Sold on site my 2010 BMW 528xi and still won't give me my money. I've been a customer since 2011. Knew previous Owner, Ray Bladine, Sr 30 +yrs and his son Ray Bladine, Jr and Mechanic Jeff Bonifas. Jeff Bonifas bought business 5 years ago or so. This business for BMW's allowed Owners selling their BMW to leave onsite so interested buyers could see and drive car even when owner was unavailable. Never a charge. No selling, just allowed people to see & drive, I advertised my 2010 BMW on Nextdoor. Didn't sell by the time I needed to leave so left it at shop for repairs and available to see & drive. Person who saw it on Nextdoor came to buy. Jeff Bonifas said minus repairs he owed me $2,500. Stated he mailed me cash. No one mails cash. He's a liar, Never received money, Bill of Sale or receipt for repairs. I am retired, unmarried woman. Jeff Bonifas? A bully.. NOT CERTIFIED BMW MECHANICS. read more

Awful. Deeply upsetting. No integrity. Quoted one price and work order then says something different after the fact with previously undisclosed charges and more "issues". Jeff the mechanic flat out lies and takes advantage of trusting senior citizens. Take your BMW literally anywhere else and avoid this horrible place. The entire team at Scott's Motor Werks is great. Jeff has cared for my 2001 740i since I arrived in Scottsdale seven years ago. He changes my oil, the battery, and replaced the trunk shock when it stopped working. He fixed my broken seat rail and even got the stuck cassette tape out of the deck (at no charge). Pricing is fair and they provide solid workmanship. They keep my 20-year-old beamer running like new. I highly recommend! read more

My friend has a BMW and had engine issues while we were in Phoenix this weekend. She checked around, figured out the problem from her mechanic in LA and then purchased parts here. She was directed to Scott's Auto Werks through a referral from a friend. With the good Yelp rating, she felt comfortable bringing her baby here. Ray, the manager, was very accommodating and friendly. He was happy to get to work on her car immediately and use the parts she had purchased. One hour later, we were ready to go! Ray put a new spark plug in, just in case, and gave her the 5% discount offered on the check in deal. Overall, we were both happy with the service but my friend did say that Ray should have given us a verbal estimate of the cost of the service prior to performing the repair. I'm sure this was just an oversight. I would recommend this mechanic to BMW owners. read more

I'd been taking my Z3 to Scott's for years. They replaced a secondary air pump and later dropped a used engine in it for me when a weird leak blew the old engine. Almost 200k miles on the car now and it's still running great. I got an older X3 last year and it recently threw a service engine soon light. I first stopped at another shop super close to home and they estimated the code to be an issue that would cost $600. I was checking the forums for that code and it could be a lot of things so I called that other shop and they said if I want a definitive diagnosis I needed it on a BMW scope. I knew just who to call. The repair was almost HALF of the original estimate and they got me in within a week. BONUS! read more

Just had my Black 2015 E550 Conv delivered from Scott's. JP and Derrick are great people to work and they have genuine pride in their craft. Black as most know is not an easy match and can be difficult to work with. The car had a few paint chips fixed on the hood which they repainted like new as well as buffed out some light scratches on the rear bumper. They picked up and delivered the car, went all the way to Ahwatukee, great service and the driver was a real gentleman as well. My car looks as new, cannot be happier and would recommend Scott's to everyone who wants the best! read more

What a great place. I have been here twice for work on my 2008 535i and they have done a great job each time. The other day my car started wigging out, warning lights everywhere and the car would change gears randomly. Piss away your money at the dealer or figure out how to get transportation (or just Uber) and save yourself potentially hundreds for same quality if not better work at Scott's. My parents have taken 3 different models of 5's and 7 series back in the 90's and 2000's and I took my 328i there. Waste money at dealer for their overhead or save/support small biz with good guys. Ray just gave me a wonderful surprise today when I took my BMW in for a routine oil change, just for being a good customer my service was FREE! now that's what I call customer service. I would recommend this shop highly. Its so nice to see old fashion values and most excellent service. Ray ALWAYS goes the extra mile for me and I so appreciate it. I have an '02 BMW 530i and was a very loyal customer to PHX Bimmer and was very sad to hear when they shut down. Fortunately the business was referred to Scott's Motor Werks. I had a small transmission issue and some codes that were being thrown and I'm so happy I called Scott's Motor Werks. I spoke with Eve on the phone and she was nice enough to work me into their busy schedule understanding that it was a small job. I talked to one of the techs Jeff when I dropped it off and he was extremely knowledgable. I was lucky enough to have the owner Ray reach out to me when the car was fixed. Ray said the fix was so simple that he didn't even want to charge me for it. I didn't think this level of service and honesty still existed in the automotive industry. The reason for one star is because you can't believe anything the owner Jeff says. The first time I came in was for an oil change and he said I had a problem with a temperature sensor and it would cost $225 to fix. I asked to see the diagnostic print out and he said his printer has been broken for a long time so he can't print. I commented that a diagnostic printout is very important to customers and he replied that his customers never ask for it (really?). I chose not to fix it without seeing the diagnostic and drove my BMW until I had a battery issue. I like to support local businesses and I thought I would give Scott's Motor Werks another try. Jeff told me the battery was dead and that it was a specialized AGM battery that couldn't be purchased elsewhere. This is my first BMW and I had no idea. I specifically asked if he was sure about that and he said yes. Well, he charged me $437.55 for a new Deka AGM 649MF and with a little online checking I was able to find this exact battery (same brand Deka same model#) for under $225.00. I called Jeff this afternoon to tell him what I discovered and he replied that he sells batteries for list price that the manufacturer sets because he has to offer a warranty on them. Interesting... especially since the manufacturer covers the warranty, not the repair shop. I asked him if he would be willing to meet me in the middle and give me some money back and he said no. He was only willing to have me buy the cheaper battery, and then he would refund his battery and install the new one. Obviously, my time doesn't enter into the equation for him and either does transparency or telling the truth. I'll be taking my repair business elsewhere in the future. read more

Unfortunately, my BMW broke down on me while driving from Phoenix, AZ to Steamboat Springs... in Grand Junction, CO... last weekend on a Friday night at 10:00 PM! Lousy timing. Every warning and indicator light was going off, and I'm sitting there with a car that is loaded with ski gear, baggage and my two boys. What to do? There didn't appear to be a lot of European auto mechanic talent available in GJ, much less a BMW dealer. So, I called Ray. Believe it or not, he called me back within 10 minutes (at 10:00 on a Friday night!!!), and walked through an over-the-phone diagnosis to conclude that my alternator had failed. It was clear that the car wasn't going to continue on with us on that trip, so he pulled out his computer and found me a mechanic from a network list of reputable and certified shops. Over the course of the next five days, he was also willing to take my calls and validate what the Grand Junction mechanic was telling me and give me a comparative cost estimate so that I could feel comfortable that I wasn't being taken for a ride. Once again, Ray demonstrates customer service that is above and beyond what anyone might otherwise reasonably expect. Thanks again Ray! read more

I have been bringing my multiple Bimmers here for over a decade. Scott doesn't want to be your friend, he just wants to fix your car. I had an experience a few years back where my car literally wouldn't run. I thought I was in for a very expensive fix. Turns out the vacuum hose separated itself from the manifold. I simply need a clip replaced. My total bill was under $25. If they were a dishonest shop, this would have been the perfect time to take advantage of a customer. Half the time he tells me what my car needs, but suggests I don't do it for another 6 or 9 months. I believe honesty comes first with Scott. In this day, what is that worth? read more

I can't say enough good things about Scott's BMW. They have nursed my 2001 X5 from the time it went out of warranty until its current 225,000 miles and it is still going strong.
