I had an incredible experience here. After wearing glasses since the age of 2, I decided to see if I qualified for Lasik. Everyone administering the examination was super friendly, and really put me at ease. I was one of the last patients of the day, so Dr. Hyver was around, and he even took some time to sit down and chat with me while I waited to see a financial adviser. He seemed like such a nice guy, and it was great to know that even the eye doctor for the 49ers could sit down and be a real person for a minute. It made me feel like I wasn't just a nameless patient, even though I hadn't even decided at that point whether or not I was actually going to go through with the procedure. Dr. Hyver does all of the surgeries himself. I felt like I was in really good hands. I've never had any type of surgery before, and I was extremely nervous, but he and his staff were really incredible about talking me through everything, making sure that I knew exactly what to expect and what was going on throughout the procedure. I just got my eyes done three months ago. Let me start at the beginning, and you can decide if it is appealing or not. So I am searching on the net. . . Keep in mind I didn't want a discount on my eye surgery. I picked a doctor that wasn't advertising his price, and Dr. Hyver was the first I saw. I went in for my free consultation and he was very honest with me. The other associates tested my eyes over and over, and Dr. Hyver came to the conclusion that I was not a candidate for lasik. He offered me PRK instead. I was extremely weary, but I booked the appointment anyway. I went home and researched the two. I was happy to discover that PRK had as many perks as lasik. Even better there are no halos at night!!! The only bad thing is recovery. The day arrives and it's time for surgery. Of course I am nervous. . The women at the office were very sweet and supportive. Almost like they know everyone is scared. The surgery itself is nothing! Piece of cake. Your eyes are numb from drops and you can't feel a thing. Don't be nervous about the surgery really!!! Then you get out of the chair and you can see. I think I was so excited that I passed out. After becoming conscious again the torture of recovery began. I get home to a completely dark house, and it is still bright. I had to wear these oh so cool glasses all weekend. My eyes were burning so bad and I could not open them for 3 days. So don't plan on catching up on movies, spending time on the computer, or even taking a shower. Thank God for percocet and peanut butter sandwiches. 3 months later and I see 20/20 maybe even better. So if you can brave the pain of three days of shut eyes and 3 weeks of blurry vision, you will rate it 5 stars for the end result! 0 stars for recovery!! read more

Please be aware that this review is for the initial consult only as I have not yet had the LASIK procedure done yet. Well it's that time of the year again when my health insurance goes into open enrollment. Since this is the time frame where I get to decide how much money goes into my FSA, I figured that now would be a good time to evaluate LASIK surgery. After checking some insurance resources, I came across Dr. Scott Hyver and found he had excellent Yelp reviews. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist asked me for insurance information and I explained that I was in open enrollment and considering changing my eye care insurance company from VSP to another one. The receptionist did some quick checking and told me that VSP covered more of the surgery than the other company I was considering, so that was one less decision I had to make :) The office is clean and you can tell the staff there is well trained and professional. They ran a large number of tests and I was informed that I was a good candidate for LASIK surgery (this was a bit of a surprise. Last time I checked with another Doctor a number of years ago, I'd have to have a different type of surgery ... guess technology has improved!). I then spoke with Dr. Hyver about my results and he answered any questions I had with regards to the procedure and post-operative care. He's friendly and makes sure that all bases were covered. I then spoke with a Patient Consultant who was very friendly and told me about various options for financing as well as any final questions I had. I now have surgery scheduled for January 2015 so am looking for of that. After a year and a half of debating whether or not i wanted to get LASIK. i finally was dead set on it and Gladly follow through with the whole process. i chose the best place that i felt cared about the decision I made. I actually saw the doctor before even talking about pricing unlike other places i went for consultation and information about the surgery. i probably should have gone with Dr. Scott Hyver since I have been hearing about him on the radio. It's been almost 4 months since I had my PRK surgery with Dr Hyver and I am SO happy to say that I have better than 20/15 vision! I was recommended to Dr. Hyver through my optometrist (who also recommended another doctor so I could compare the two myself). I chose to go with Dr. Hyver after actually meeting him in person during my consultation. It was so nice to actually meet the guy who I would be putting my full trust in. He answered all my questions, thoroughly told my why PRK was the best option (but still told me that I could choose not to do PRK, if I decided not to), and generally made me feel at ease. Afterwards, I met with a consultant about setting dates, what to expect and everything I needed to do to ensure a smooth surgery & recovery. Thank goodness for Ativan because I took full advantage of it on surgery day. The staff was SO nice and made me feel very comfortable on the day of. Honestly, I checked in with the receptionist and was back in the car heading home within 30 minutes. Easy peasy. I was recommended to see Dr. Hyver by a good friend of mine. And Dr. Hyver, the Optometrists, the techs, the front desk, and Jennifer (especially) made this experience so worth while. The results of course is amazing, and it is everything I have ever imagined and more. But what made this whole experience a 5 star is the customer service. There was never a day or phone call were I did not feel appreciated for being a patient or even considering to be a patient. The techs in the room who took pictures of my eyes, welcomed both my girls in the room and entertained them with such kindness. And before ending my visit I met with Jennifer on the business side of the visit who quoted me the price, but gave me options and did not push me in a corner where I felt obligated to get this procedure done. She followed up with a call and when I finally found the funds to get this done, Jennifer helped me til I get this taken cared of quickly and efficiently. When I went in for a check-up for my contacts 10 months ago, I asked my optometrist about LASIK. I'd had friends get it and was curious about it, but was skeptical and a little wary of having surgery on my eyes. ScottHyver was one of two doctors he recommended, so I went in for a free screening. ScottHyver won me over with their high level of professionalism, knowledgeable staff, and thorough explanation of my situation and options. They put me much more at ease than the other doctor I visited. So, I set my date and got ready for LASIK. The surgery itself went off without a hitch: quick, painless (though obviously an odd experience), and before I knew it I was in the car heading home. Stayed home from work the next day because my vision was still a little foggy, and I had some minor haloing that cleared up as I healed. I'm now 4 months post-surgery and I'm thrilled with the results. My vision is clearer than it ever was with glasses or contacts. There's no haloing or issues at night (those cleared up after a few weeks), and my eyes feel great. Sure beats the constant irritation of contacts--dry eyes, irritation, having to take them out, remembering to pack fluid when I went on trips, and on and on. It may sound minor, but it's one fewer thing to worry about, and that makes my life just that much simpler. so i've noticed some not so spectacular reviews below from other yelpers, and honstly, i'm not surprised by them and they may even bear (however much or little) truth. Personally, i think scott hyver's practice either read these reviews, acknowledged them and made changes, or they miraculously just decided to change their model, i do have to agree with the reviews regarding the primary MD as being impersonal...you do meet with him during the initial consult (at least briefly), you discuss (again briefly) whatever concerns you or the MD may have, and then you also meet with him for a split second on the day of the op (before and after you get operated on). i didnt find him repulsive, offensive, or rude, but perhaps any doctor who is about to make good money on a 15 minute procedure on your eyes can/should have more social/engaging/personable interactions with patients. though on the other hand, one has to recognize that it is a business, and as i will stress below, its really about the profits (and who can really blame him?), and sometimes, business and medical ethics may not be the best match with each other. I think though, going along with what i said in the first paragraph and also echoing other yelpers describing this as a "lasik factory" and being impersonal...this was felt very obviously during the multiple occassions where the patient is sent into the waiting area and provided wit a laminated handout stating the differences between PRK vs Wavefront, FAQs, candidacy, side effecs, and other various questions/concerns, i think that instead of handouts, having a face to face interaction with the doctor (even the OD), would have been a much better/personable way of delivering this information, having the patient read handouts is not exactly engaging, and it definitely feels like they are trying to minimize their face time with you so that they have more time to consult with other patients CUSTOMER SERVICE/BUSINESS: The bottom line for most (if not all) businesses is just that, business/money. With that said, one has to admire the level of organization and seamlessness (is that a word?) that scott hyver vision care provides. its obvious time was invested into developing their business model, it shows in their time management, attention to detail, and caring (at least they seem that way) attitude towards customers/patients. information is provided, almost exhaustively (but i dont imagine any complains stemming from this if you're about to get your eyes zapped), to the patient pre, during, and post operation. steps are taken to ensure that the patient has all the information they need to make informed choices, and anxiety is greatly reduced during the operation by way of the physicians detailed explanation of what is going on and what could be expected in the next 5 seconds, or 10 seconds, or whatever...and im sure that valium helped as well with the anxiety (if you're debating whether or not to take that valium, take it, you'll be on cloud nine during the process). The one thing I did notice, in regard to the business side of things, is the turnover process (for those who ar familiar with sales, its pretty clear), could be better, but perhaps it worked in my favor because it was a bit lacking...let me just say this, almost everything in life is negotiable, even lasik, mind you though you may not want to negotiate with a business who is going to operate on your eyes, i'm just saying that negotiation may be an option. PHYSICIANS/MEDICAL STAFF: competent, very much so. to tag off what i said above, everyone in the office (reception, nurses/assistants, OD, and the MD) was very competent, was detailed/organized. the procedure was painless and relatively free of any discomfort, it was quick, and the results are AMAZING! it still feels so unreal waking up and seeing things as clear as i see them. VALUE/PRICING: as one of their staff in the office told me, there's a range of lasik doctors, some lower, some higher, some in betweens. scott hyver is, as this staff told me, somewhere in the middle, maybe a bit higher. you do have to pay for your own pre-op prescription antibiotic drops (which will cost around 10-20 w/ insurance), and the lubricant drops (about 10 bucks a bottle at walgreens), but they include everything else: samples of lubricant drop (about enough for 5 applications), anti inflammatory drops (for post-op), very fashionable shades for after the procedure (light sensitivity), and very cool ultraman look-a-like goggles for wear during sleep...oh yes and how could i forget about that valium. also included with them (and this was probably the main sell point for me) is a "lifetime" gurantee, its in quotations because the dr. stated that they will offer free/complimentary touch-ups/correction should vision change in the future (which is normal with age) under the circumstance that you are still medicaly appropriate BOTTOM LINE: get diffrent opinions, sleep on it, then decide read more

I had always heard that photographers love the morning and evening light but I did not really understand why until now. I was recently at Crissy Field. As the sun began to set and the twilight came I was looking out over the bay at the Golden Gate, the play of light through the clouds, the colors of the lights on the bridge itself, the blues and greys of the water, the greens and greys of the hills, the golden light everywhere... all crystal clear... too beautiful for words. I evaluated a few different LASIK providers before settling on Dr. Hyver and company. I ultimately chose them based on the professionalism and warmth of the doctors working there, as well as the excellent terms of their extended care plan. I didn't feel rushed into a decision during my consultation, which was an important signal for me. I'm now ~3 months post-op and very happy with the results. 20/15 in both eyes, and no lingering side effects, not even dry eyes. Would choose them again in a heartbeat. read more

I wanted to be very careful and rate the actual business instead of the procedure because this operation had such a positive change in my life. I can't recommend LASIK/PRK enough for people who consider it and would give it not only 5 stars, but a million of them! Just go for it! So that's a 5 star procedure. But is Scott Hyver a 5 star business? The answer is yes! Very nice and professional staff, they always make me feel welcome. The doctor took the time to explain all the options and even though I was eligible for LASIK, my practicing martial arts had me pick PRK instead, which is a bit longer to recuperate from, but is more stable later on when you are likely to get hit in the face. The whole process doesn't take that long either; they even had an appointment for me barely 3 weeks after my initial visit (I had to wait a bit longer though, but it was because of me). To be fair, I could see 2 small minuses coming from the same reason (but not enough to knock down a star): they are popular. Because of that, they are busy. Since they take whatever time is necessary with each patient (I never felt rushed), you might have to wait a bit longer than you'd expect. That might be an issue for people who are in a hurry, but luckily I rarely am. Second thing is because they are so busy on the day they do surgeries (one after the other) Dr. Hyver barely talks to you that day; I don't think he even said Hi or Bye. Personally, I don't mind, especially since the rest of the staff made up for it, but I can see if other people who need their Dr. to be comforting and all feel a bit bad about it. I don't know if it's the same for surgeons, but when I work, I sometimes get "in the zone" and I am not very social either! In any case, very good experience overall, recommend it! read more

It has been more than six years since I had my LASIK procedure by Dr. Hyver and my eyes are still perfect! Never had the "grittiness" or "halos" people mention regarding LASIK procedures they had from other providers. I'm so glad I came here (San Ramon office). Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. The best service I received compared to other doctors. My vision was perfect after my procedure and I was able to attend a dinner party the same day, after four hours of rest. WARNING Dr hyver is verrrryyy good looking. this can make for awkward gazes at him while he explains your procedure. looks aside.. he is very professional, the staff is wonderful, the office is clean and aesthetically pleasing which is very important to me. my surgery went very well and i agree with everyone else it is life changing. i no longer have to worry that my son is going to pull my glasses off or "where are my glasses" or that i'm going to step on a hot wheels in the middle of the night. onto why there is one star missing.. no one warned me that putting an entire bottle of ice cold eye drops after each eye was completed during the surgery would give me my first ever experience with brain freeze. he also could have been a little more realistic about the after pain. i had to have prk which is another form of laser eye surgery which takes longer to heal and can be what he called "uncomfortable" pffft. i've had a child pass through my wahoo and this was comparable. i was popping the vicodin like a waspy middle aged woman. HOWEVER do not let this dissuade you. i couldn't be happier. well worth the 10 days of pain/discomfort. i'd do it again in a heart beat. read more

After procrastinating for years, I finally decided to get in for a consultation to get Lasik before my wedding. I was a little scared of the procedure which is why I waited so long, but staff was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. The procedure was MUCH easier than I thought and aside from the pressure they put on your cornea to flatten it for a few seconds, the surgery was quick and painless. Every step during the procedure, Scott Hyver said what he was going to do and told me what to expect. My only regret was not doing this sooner! My prescription was -3.75 (left eye) and -3.50 (right eye) and now I can see 20/15! It's an amazing feeling being able to see right when I wake up! read more

Scott Hyver performed lasik on Bill Walsh, Terrell Owens, and is the official eye doctor of the 49ers. Great references. I had wavefront surgery done by him at his Santa Clara office about 2 years ago and it was literally a life changing experience. They will check/measure your eyes twice before the procedure and a third time the day of surgery to make sure the readings are consistent. The procedure itself literally takes about 15 mins. and your back to work the next day. He and his staff were very accomodating and professional throughout the whole experience. Since the 4th grade, it used to be that counting my fingers from an arms distance was blurry without help. The day after the procedure, my vision was 20/15, and I was reading off the states from a poster map of the U.S. from 20 ft. away! No joke. Highly recommended if you are looking into this. read more

If you've ever met a person that has had lasik they will mention it's a life changing experience...naturally you might look at them as if they are a freak and think, life changing?!? those are hella strong words... They spent more than enough time with me answering every last question. It has been over a year now since I had my corrective surgery at Scott Hyver's Visioncare Center in Daly City. I went in very skeptical about the procedure. Lets face it, I only have two eyes and the thought of putting them under a laser scared the Holy Hell out of me. Dr. Hyver was very good about answering my questions and addressing the concerns I had. I consulted with no less than 10 different Dr's before deciding on Hyver. I liked that there were many positive reviews. I also liked that he owned his own equipment rather than renting/leasing them from GE or other Medical Equipment manufacturers. He was very proud about keeping his equipment running top notch. I was a little surprised about how quickly he works through a line of people. People are in and out, the Dr only spends a few minutes doing the actual procedure, and then you go home. Some people are bothered by the impersonal nature of how he runs his business but I had no problem with it...especially with the results. I had no complications from the procedure, and when I went back the next day the staff was very excited to hear about how it all went. I thought it was a load of crap when people who had the procedure told me that it was life altering. I "see" what they mean now. read more

I've worn corrective lenses since the second grade, so I'd gotten pretty used to wearing contacts or glasses. But, it turns out that my company's insurance pays for $3000 for Lasik. Score!!! (Dr. Hyver is on the expensive side and uses a more accurate method of Lasik, so I still had to pay some money out of my own pocket.) I go in for some tests. One of the optometrists had just had the procedure done a few weeks prior, so that was comforting. I had to wait an extra month since I was wearing gas permeable lenses and my eyes had to get back to their normal shape. So, I finally go in for my procedure. It's a little freaky because they keep your eyes clamped open for about 5 minutes each side. I got my beanie babies to hold onto, and, after less than 10 minutes, it was over. Relatively painless - a little bit of discomfort, but not much. Not something I'd want to do every weekend, but for a few minutes of surgery, and some very very minor discomfort for the rest of the day, in return for getting to throw away my contacts and glasses, it's a small price to pay. So, downside: I don't have the same clarity I used to have when I have something 4 inches away from my face when I didn't have my contacts on. So, I've lost my career of painting calligraphy on grains of rice. read more

Thank god I got LASIK before Kim Kardashian decided to show the world how she got LASIK on TV because I probably would've had second thoughts about it. Anyway, Dr. Hyver performed LASIK on me two months ago and the results were f-ing amazing! I was a little nervous prior to the surgery and the assistants were thoughtful enough to give me beanie babies to hold to each hand. Everything went very smoothly and I was out of there in a little over an hour. I didn't get any of the halo effects or night vision loss post surgery. When I went to my retinal specialist for a follow-up visit one month after surgery, it took her a few minutes to even find the LASIK flap because it healed so quickly and so perfectly! The only reason why I didn't Yelp him earlier was because I wanted to make sure that everything healed properly. It was definitely hard not being able to rub my eyes for the past two months, especially since I have horrible allergies. Thank god I don't have to worry about that anymore. I'd finally decided I wanted to get LASIK surgery so I asked my optometrist (Dr. Minjung Lew...who is absolutely the best !!) for a recommendation. I hadn't heard any of Dr. Hyver's radio advertisements...I scheduled a consultation strictly on the recommendation. I made several consultation appointments and after going through them, found Dr. Hyver to be the most complete. Everything runs like clockwork....he and his staff are professional, personable and organized....I really appreciated all the email reminders and follow-ups. After my consultation with Dr. Hyver, he suggested that I get LASIK done on my left eye only. The day of my surgery, I walked in his office at 1:43PM and was walking out by 2:03PM...from check in, payment and surgery...I was on my way in 20 minutes !! Had my LASIK surgery done back in September and as everyone else who has had it done says - I only wish I had done it sooner! My eye doctor recommended two places to get my lasik done - Dr Hyver and Pacific Vision Institute. The reason I chose him was because they had much better customer service and did not feel like they were just trying to close a sale. They were incredibly friendly and understood that this is a big decision and just provided me with all the information I needed. They were also great with follow up and gentle reminders to keep going through the process. They were also much more reasonably priced than the other doctor. The actual procedure was so easy and each eye just takes under a minute to complete. I did have some irritation in one of my eyes but their whole team assured me it was normal and a couple of weeks later I was good to go! 6 months into the surgery I am extremely happy with the results. Prior to getting my vision corrected by Dr. Hyver, I had been wearing corrective lenses for twenty years. Fixing my vision was something I always wanted to do, so I talked to several people who had Lasik surgery for recommendations. The one name that kept coming up was Dr. Scott Hyver, soI scheduled a consultation appointment at one of his three Bay Area locations. From my first visit as a prospective client through the completion of my one-month post-op visit, Dr. Hyver and his staff made me feel special. They were both professional and caring about my well-being as they delivered their services and for my recovery afterward... even going so far as calling a few hours later to make sure my recovery was going well. In my case, Dr. Hyver told me during my pre-op exam that he would be able to correct my vision to 20/20. I heard Dr. Hyver's add on K-Fog and my attention was caught by the two year interest free payment plan. I've needed Lasik for several years and since my insurance now covered part of it, I figured i'd for in for the free consultation. One Lasik procedure later, I am a very happy woman. Loved the staff at Daly City - they were all friendly, professional and very thorough in instructions and exams. Dr. Hyver was professional and let me know what was happening step by step while he was doing the procedure. And they had stuffed animals to hold for those of us with nervous dispositions. I am not ashamed to say I clutched two Beanie Babies to my chest the entire time. I had the mono vision procedure done and the day after the surgery, I could see far away at 20/20 and read small print without problems. And the vision has been improving daily. I figure I'm gonna have X-ray vision in a month! I had a few hours of the 'cheese grater on the eyeball' pain when the numbing drops wore off, but after being legally blind for most of my adult life, a few hours of pain is SO worth it. I think every Lasik clinic feels like a bit of a factory, but that is somewhat expected. The difference with this clinic is the lengthy evaluation of whether you are a candidate or not. The eval took about 1.5 hrs. The final thing that pushed me into getting the surgery was having a friend of mine turned down for Lasik by Dr. Hvyer as she was not a good candidate. To me, that meant alot, these surgeries are soooo pricy! Anyways, it's been a year, and I am 20/20 in one eye, 20/25 in the other. I still have halos but they told me that I had a lot of risk factors for halos (namely large pupils and a previously very strong prescription). I'm happy nonetheless. Dr. Hvyer is most certainly more expensive than some of the other options, but I think the attention to detail in the eval is what makes it worth it. read more

My whole experience with Scott Hyver Vision Care was wonderful. From the extensive testing to make sure my eyes were ready for surgery, to the day of where everything went very smooth! A couple tid bits... I was not aware that I had to keep my eyes closed for 4 hours following the procedure. It worked out for me since my appointment was real early. I just went back to bed. You should be ready to sleep afterward since it's an easy way to keep your eyes shut for 4 straight hours!! I am still seeing some halos, ESPECIALLY the night of the procedure. They are going away slowly, and right now I rarely notice them. I still have 2 more months to go before they should be gone, so things are good. Overall this has to be one of the best thing I've ever done. After wearing glasses/contacts for 15 years it was way overdue. I had the wavefront Lasik and had NO PAIN at all!!! I've been interested in having the laser procedure done for a few years now especially after my eye doctor told me that I qualified for it but I didn't really take that seriously until this year. It was the best decision I made for myself. It probably cost a little more but if I think about what I pay for my eyeglasses and contacts every year, the expenses are really worth it. Upon deciding to get the Lasik, I did my research on where to go. I checked the reviews and Dr. Scott Hyver has the most positive reviews so I put him on the top of my list to contact. I did two inquiries and what makes me choose Dr. Hyver was because they have responded to me the same day I inquire about the procedure. The other one took one week. On my consultation day, I was impressed how the office looks and how the staff treats their patients. To make the story short, my Lasik procedure was scheduled according to what works best for me. Everything was explained to me including what to expect before, during and after the procedure and also the extended program which is the best. The procedure itself only last for about 15 minutes for both eyes, I think the preparation is longer than the procedure itself. During the procedure, Dr. Hyver is talking the whole time, telling me what is he doing and what to expect. Healing was great too, I didn't have halo at night but I noticed that my eyes became more sensitive to light. Other than that and the dryness which is expected, I have no problems. Three months after my Lasik procedure, my eye doctor told me I am good to go and will just need to go back in a year for my regular check-up. I did the lasik for wavefront procedure last week with doctor ScottHyver , all crews and doctor were very patient and welcoming . I had manny many years of deciding doing the lasik since I were in Cambodia, i always feel scary and nervous with my both eyes ,but finally I go for and now my eyes no more glasses on , I am so happy with the result . I was recommended by a few friends and it was better than expected. From the first consultation to the last check up a few months after lasik surgery, the staff and Dr. Hyver were great to deal with. I had my surgery on a Thursday at 3:00 and by 7:30-8:00 on the same night, I could see everything clearly without my glasses. First time in over 12 years!!! After five years of deliberations, I finally decided to have laser eye correction for my extreme nearsightedness. Dr. Hyver's Visioncare was highly recommended by my primary optometrist and I have to say, I am very pleased. From my first consultation to the actual day of surgery, Dr. Hyver and his staff were highly professional and very helpful. Dr Hyver himself was very down to earth and took his time explaining the procedure to me. On the day of the actual surgery, Dr. Hyver talked me through the entire process (this was very reassuring and helped calm my nerves). The procedure was over in less than fifteen minutes and I felt absolutely no pain. I sat up, with a slightly hazing vision initially but it gradually cleared up throughout the day. Wow. A good friend of mine referred me to this office because he knew I was interested in laser corrective surgery. I'm so happy I followed through because the other offices I checked out didn't seem nearly as competent nor friendly. The initial consultation, pre operation visit and actual surgery day were easy, fast and painless. The staff remained professional and attentive. I had my surgery on the day of writing this review, and only 7 hours later, I'm seeing almost perfectly and feeling very little discomfort. I got LASIK with Dr. Hyver last month and like most people, I've had a AWESOME experience. I had no hesitations to get LASIK. When I looked at Dr. Hyver's reviews and his credentials...I felt confident in him. Also, it helps that my cousin's boyfriend, who is in the military and who needs his eyes to be able to serve our country, went to Dr. Hyver and had a good experience. (We actually call him Dr. Dreamy...haha). Dr. Hyver is very friendly and a bit soft spoken. His staff were friendly as well and I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped into his office. I did not have any trouble with my appointments - they got me in & out of the office quickly and it was easy to schedule/reschedule appointments. I had to emailed Dr. Hyver's staff several times with various questions I had and they responded the same day...sometimes even the same hour. Only thing that was a bit funny was how the doctors and staff kept asking about possible friends/co-workers/family that would be interested in the procedure. Again...like what I've said in other posts, the staff are just trying to sell their service and get more clientele. They gave me discount coupons to give to my friends who are interested in LASIK and they even had a yelp card, which had instructions on how to create a review for them. =) I'd definitely recommend LASIK to anyone who is considering it.
