I didn't realize this place existed despite having walked by it many times. I had actually been looking for someplace to buy authentic food for a proper English breakfast and hadn't found anything with a straightforward Yelp search, so when I saw a sign saying they had food, I went right in. I bought some Guinness chips, canned beans, frozen bangers and back bacon, scottish clotted cream fudge, and tea, for around $50. My husband said the chips (which were like, $2.25) were disgusting, but we liked the fudge (more like a chewy caramel), and the bangers and bacon. The bangers were actually like a more pricey version of ones they have at Vons, but the back bacon I couldn't find anywhere else. It was about $2 per slice. The service was very helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic. I am still enjoying the tea! I hope to try some of their other frozen foods when they get more pies, etc. and I am in the area. It is a bit pricey, obviously, but it's a charming shop with some really cool stuff! Glad to have finally walked in. read more

We had to search a little bit for this place. I guess it used to be closer to the water and in a shopping center. Now it is in a line of shops on the main street. It is much larger inside now. Lots to choose from in here. Very nice things,Irish and Scottish. They even had a small selection of English candy ( lollies) and food to choose from. Just one thing I have to say about that is ,it is all a little high priced. But, I am sure the rent here in this area is very high as well . So it all evens out. If you had some wee ones, you can find some really great clothing pieces. As well as for all other ages, but of course children's clothing is always the cutest! We had a medieval wedding and had to do a lot of work to make it 'fun' and not 'tacky'. Thank goodness for Scottish Treasures because their kilt rentals allowed my husband and his groomsmen to look absolutely handsome during the ceremony, and gave everything a formal and elegant feel (not costumey!). Their kilt quality is EXCELLENT. After the ceremony all the dudes changed into a Ghillie shirt which Tricia special ordered for us. This allowed them to cut loose during the archery tournament and really let the medieval party start. They looked so fantastic! Because of our enormous wedding party and a few last minute additions we ended up having to rent one kilt from an online retailer and really got to see the superior quality of Scottish Treasures close up. I found this shop at the Scottish Irish Highlands festival in Estes Park, CO yesterday to my disappointment. I decided to dress in the Scottish dress for my wedding next year. My fiancee was with me and we were really excited! I had found out my families heritage from Scotland, found Clan Gunn, and wanted to represent my heritage in our wedding. What an absolute disappointment coming across the woman running this shop, who is also the business owner, here at the festival! I saw a Prince Charles jacket and asked to try it on. There were only 2 jackets left there and they didn't fit. I asked her if she could take my measurements so I could simply order the jacket both my fiancee and I loved in a month or so. She says to me, "we don't do measurements unless you buy the same day." Well, how do I buy that day when you have neither a jacket in my size or a Clan Gunn kilt?! I asked this again and she literally changed the subject. My fiancee gave her a try and she finally took 2 measurements which will make it impossible to place an order. She put forth no effort to explain the process of how to order anything from her business! How hard to I have to try to give you over $1000.00 for your product?! I went to another vendor called the Scot Shoppe and they took FULL measurements for me. Although they didn't have my size at their store, they explained how I could order from them when I was ready. Stopped in recently with the intention of buying several gifts. After maybe 10 minutes in the store, the lady asked us to sit our cups (from Starbucks down the street, with lids) on the counter. (No other store did this, and if there was a sign, we didn't take them in.) We were the only customers in the store the entire time, but after that, we left it empty once again. Wow. Never been made to feel stupid by a salesperson before. I asked a simple question, which this man laughed at, and proceeded to tell me why I would never find what I was looking for unless it was made in Thailand. I had bought a Claddagh ring in Dublin for around 10 Euro, which would be less than $20, so I called around to shops in San Diego to find one around the same price (I was not expecting it to be made out of sterling silver). No such luck, but at least the other shops were nice about it. You should never feel bad about yourself after hanging up the phone with someone who is supposed to provide customer service. Sad to say I'll probably never visit this shop. read more

The store is amazingly fun to walk through. They have really nice jewelry, tartan items, food, drinks, and candy from the UK; and all kinds of other great knick knacks. For a while all my jewelry came from there. The last time I went in, there was a young, red headed guy working who was wearing full Scottish dress with a basket hilt sword (as he called it). He was really excited about everything, and was very knowledgeable. He was as thrilled to find out about our family name as we were. They have a database of research into family histories, which they can print out for you in a nice displayable parchment like thing. Never seen anyone working in retail who was so enthusiastic. Definitely worth going in there, even just to see that guy. Oh, and they rent kilts too! Now I just need to find an excuse to have my boyfriend wear one. read more

I try to make it out to the Highland Games out in the San Diego area every year I can and ever year I always need someone to help me out with my kilt (cause things go missing in my house alot) The staff is super passionate about what they offer and can help you out like they have for me time and time again. I always look my best cause of them and I love going back just to check out the cool Celtic stuff they have on display. This store is awesome, filled with so many items that even at the local Highland Games I'd have to hunt around for. I was impressed with the selection of tartans and information on many of the clans. My only complaint in which I feel the store deserves 3/5, is while I shopped not once did anyone acknowledge my existence in their store. No greeting or offered assistance while I looked at the items in their glass cases. In fact, the women working continued their conversation and seemed almost annoyed that I was there. Though I was interested in purchasing a few things, I didn't want to "interrupt" their conversation and ask for assistance with the items in the display. I have purchased 3 kilts and countless other kilt accessories. The customer service is outstanding and their understanding of Traditional Highland Civilian Dress is unparalleled. While you might save a couple of bucks purchasing things from internet retailers, having the knowledge and service offered at the shop more than makes up for it. We've been shopping with Scottish Treasures for years, at their old shop, at the games in Vista and Costa Mesa and now at their new location. They made my (now) fiancé's Marine tartan kilt a number of years ago and it came out wonderfully. So when we started getting ready for our wedding we of course turned to them for kilt rentals!
