I needed a dress hemmed for an awards show in two weeks and Enzo was able to get it done BEAUTIFULLY. He is a kind man who wished me luck (and his luck worked, cause I won!) and had the dress ready for me days early than expected! My dress had two layers and he did the job for $80. I have very little experience getting items tailored so I don't know if that was an appropriate price or not. I didn't have time to go price hunting. But honestly, $80 for a dress I've had hanging in my closet for years is preferred to the agony of last-minute dress shopping (for something new that I would have likely needed hemmed anyway). Enzo and his wife Rita provided great service and were so warm and friendly especially since it was my husband's first time getting one of his suits tailored. We just happened to see the shop when were in the area and thought we'd check them out. Granted the suit did come from Mens Warehouse but Enzo made the suit like it was made for my husband. My husband said he is going to bring back his other suits since Enzo did such a great job. It's a very quaint little shop but lots of ready to wear suits and you can also order custom made shirts. I really hate to do this on just one short visit, but it's highly unlikely I'll ever be back so it is what it is. I'm in the market for a basic black suit and found this place from a Yelp search. They sell suits and reviews seemed good, so why not check it out. Upon walking in, I knew this place probably wasn't going to be the one for me. It's a very small shop and there were only two racks of suits on the wall. Since I'm a bigger guy, suit hunting is already a little problematic without a limited selection on top of things. I figured it couldn't hurt to talk to the guy though. He was in the back and didn't come up right away, and when he did he seemed a little put off by my inquiring about a suit. I don't know if it was my size or what, but he seemed a little exasperated to have to help me. I already knew my size and told him I was looking for a basic black suit, but he was insistent on measuring anyways -- this is a legitimate point in his favor, actually -- but again it seemed like he was just half-heartedly going through the motions. Once he had confirmed the size, he told me he would have to order from a catalogue. I asked him what the price range was for that type of suit, and he quickly snapped back that it would be $900. No range; just $900. Now, depending on the quality, $900 wouldn't be an outrageous price for a suit. But I was only asking for a basic black wool suit, so this seemed especially egregious. Hell, if he had just grabbed some swatches to show me or even warmed me up to the idea a little, I could respect the game. But to me it just came across like he was trying to get rid of me. Anyway, I cut the visit short right then and there. No need to go through the motions when the message was pretty clear. Maybe I caught him on a bad day. Or maybe you just need to be average-sized to get the right experience. It's all good on my end, though. read more

So my sister is getting married and my bridesmaid dress was a disaster (not her fault, in case she's reading!). First, the shop from which I ordered ended up ordering a size too big (after I already ordered a size too big so now 2 sizes too big). The sleeves on the dress were totally mismatched for some mysterious reason and the back of the dress was WAY too low. In short, I needed a new dress made from the bag of a "dress" I brought in. Rita did an amazing job taking the dress in (more than 4 inches), taking the sleeves apart and reworking them to match each other and reshaping the back (because it was a mess after taking it in so much). It is worth noting that this dress is "trumpet" style so taking it in meant throughout the dress at various points with different measurements and darts like woah. Also, part way through the process I issued a change order so to speak and asked her to design a back to the dress that would retain the feel while covering my bra situation (going braless is not an option with my size...ahem...sweater stretchers). I brought in some lace fabric, which is difficult enough to work with, and she came up with a design that works for the shape and style of the dress, makes my sister happy, and, as an added bonus, covers all my backfat and other unsightlies while still leaving the back partially open. Rita executed the whole shebang perfectly. She really went above and beyond with this project and I thought the price was reasonable for the amount of work that went into it on the whole. I can't comment on their quality of work but they were exceedingly rude to me on the phone when I inquired about prices. They were going to be charging more than ten dollars more than other places and when I mentioned that, they said, 'then why did you even bother calling here?' Uh... Because I'm doing pricing research, you're close to my house, and you have five stars? But I was continued to be treated rudely. Wow, it's great to have a real Italian tailor in Hillcrest. I got a great deal on an Armani suit at Saks Off 5th, the suit was my size in the shoulders and body length of the jacket but the trousers needed to be taken in quite a bit and their was a noticeable gap in the chest area. Enzo reworked both of these areas as well as the sleeve length so that the suit now fits like it was custom made for me. I have also recently lost 30 lbs and have some expensive suits from my fat days that I would like to get some more use of. I will also be bringing these suits into Milano Tailors as soon as I have reached my goal weight. I mostly always use credit cards (gotta get those airline miles) for everything, but I gladly made a quick trip to the ATM for these services as they do not take credit cards at Milano Tailors. read more

If you have a suit that needs to be altered, this is where you should take it. Most dry-cleaner/tailors really only know how to alter women's clothing and maybe do a little hemming for men's jeans. I don't wear suits a lot, but this before I found this guy I could tell that the places I went to just didn't know what they were doing. read more

Enzo listened and was able to offer some great suggestions in areas I was still a little uncertain on. This tailor and his wife did a horrible rush job on my suit and shirt. I have recently lost some weight and needed to get several of my suits tailored. I took one suit there just to try them out. Milano Tailors had several positive reviews and was close to my residence so I decided to give them a try. Enzo assured me that he would have no problem taking care of my suit. I also decided to buy one of his shirts and have it tailored since his tailored shirts takes 6 weeks to complete. Again he assured me that he would have no problem customizing it to fit me. He had my suit and shirt on 5/4/2012 and stated it would take him 2 weeks to complete since i required a lot of adjustments. I went by the shop on 5/16/2012 in the hopes that he may have finished early but he had not even started any of the alterations but promised the suit and shirt would be ready by Friday. On Friday afternoon I arrived to pick up the suit and shirt and tried them on. I could not believe the horrible job he did, the jacket was ruffled in the front, the sleeves were uneven, and the shirt was even worst. The shirt did not look fitted at all, it had several ruffles in the front. It appears his wife just took the shirt in on its sides without making any other adjustments and she had the nerve to say that it would shrink after washing. I really needed these items too for a job interview but now I will need to find someplace else. Words can not describe how utterly disappointed I am in their work, especially considering how much they charge. read more

Not Impressed! Took a pair of pants into be hemmed on a Tuesday morning. Told them I needed them by Friday, not ready. By following Tuesday still had not heard from them so I called they said they still needed to be pressed and would be ready in 30 minutes. Gave them an hour. When I arrived they were not done and pants look like they had been waded up for a week. They were perfectly pressed when I took them in. Took my pants and left. My alteration job seemed like an inconvience to both of them. Will not be returning. read more

Been coming here for about 3 years to get tailoring done I my more expensive clothing that needs that special attention. Always extremely satisfied with Milano's knowledge and work. Makes honest suggestions and does honest work. I have had about 3 cotton suits, a linen suit, and a tuxedo all worked on and have been pleased in all cases. Very personal business man; gave me a gift when I told him some of these things were for my wedding. Expect to pay about 30$/alteration; multiple alterations could set you past $100 per suit. To start Enzo does cut a nice suit. With that said the experience I just had with him was ridiculous. First we dropped our suits off over a month ago and he told us he would call when they are ready. There was no rush, so he told me and my friend (who is getting married) about three weeks. After three weeks I never got a call, so I called him four different days multiple times before I finally got them to answer this week. I let him know we were going to pick up the suits this Saturday. When we get there he says these suits were ready a long time ago what took so long to pick them up. I let him know we have been trying to call him and he never called us. No big deal. He tells us to try on the suits. The suits fit perfect as would be expected for the price they charge. My friend asks Enzo what is this stain on my shirt? We look closer and blood is smeared in multiple places all over his $220 White Burberry shirt. Shockingly Enzo says we do not take care of this the cleaners do. We ask him how this happened and he said his wife must have cut herself and bled on the shirt. WTF!!!! Then he lets us know no worries at all. It will come out no big deal. I am honestly shocked at this point. I have got two suits cut by Enzo and they were done very well. I recommended Enzo to my good friend for his wedding and at this point am just embarrassed that he did not think this was a big deal. Mind you my friend is getting married in one week. He does not even offer to pay for the cleaning. Then he tries to over charge my friend $60.00. This extra $60.00 was never mentioned. It was $150.00 for me (just suit) and $190.00 for my friend (suit and shirt). These prices were listed on our receipt tag. Enzo says we must have forgot, but he will give my friend the discount. Again WTF is going on here. To continue on with this ridiculous experience he then charges me $190.00 and my friend $150.00 even though we told him multiple times which charges were ours. I had to go in the back (yes, I am not BSing this part) and void our transactions and rerun them , because he did not know how to fix the problem. I will NEVER come here again. I have a lot of friends in business and could have referred him a ton of business, but bottom line is Enzo is now to old to properly run the business himself. The service is absolutely terrible and the nonchalant attitude about a huge mistake on his part is embarrassing for his business and myself. Enter at your own risk. read more
