Not recommended for any front end suspension/steering work. Took an F-350 in for death wobble. They diagnosed as needing a new track bar. Took it back a week later because the issue continued to get worse - I asked about tie rods and ball joints and was told it was most likely my tires. I subsequently took the truck to All American Automotive on south street. They quickly diagnosed that Scott's changed the track bar but not the associated bushings as well as bad tie rods. Issue resolved. I called Scott's to let them know they failed to change the bushings as well and I had to pay labor a second time for someone else to complete the job...they couldn't have cared less. read more

Extremely helpful and forthright. I came in for an inspection about a noise coming from my front suspension. They identified the source but let me know that there was nothing to be concerned about -- no charge. I definitely will come back when I need something else fixed. read more

I have left my car with Scott's for an estimate, but I decided not to go with them. (Too pricey). I've been charged $171 for the estimate. It was the following condition(s) when I got my car back: 1. From near half, red-line empty gas tank. 2. Driver side handle cover removed, not installed back. 3. Middle console lining torn. 4. All settings on stereo/cooling system mixed up. 5. Recessed scratching on passenger door. To me it is obvious that one or more employees utilized my vehicle for personal use in the time it was docked there, for more than 4 weeks. Tried to contact the manager about the above, but after playing phone tag, gave up. This is my experience with Scott's, make your own conclusions. read more

Stupidly drove my Subaru into a culvert-only problem was front bumper hanging loose. Gabriel at Scott's Auto Body is a master of auto body repair-checked the vehicle for actual damage and popped the bumper back on (yes, it's plastic.) Cost for the prompt, friendly service= ZERO. I can't even begin to express the disappointment with this establishment. I stopped by to get a quote for some warranty repairs from my dealership. The staff seemed knowledgeable and courteous. Although it took a few weeks to get an appointment, I agreed with the estimate. I dropped the car off on a Thursday morning and the work was estimated to take two hours. I provided the dealer warranty contact and let them know they had already approved the estimate. I called later that evening and the shop stated that they had to order a part and it would be in the next morning. I was told it would be done by 10-11am. I called at noon and was told that the car was almost finished, and that they were waiting for payment from the dealer. At 4:00 I called and was told that the car was done and they were waiting on payment. (I called the dealer, they stated they had been waiting on an invoice for two days). So at 4:30 I traveled to the shop and was told that they would not release the vehicle without payment. I called the dealer in front of the clerk, and the dealer stated that they still hadn't received the invoice, finally at 5:10 (After they closed). I was asked to sign for the vehicle. (I hadn't even seen the repairs yet!!). So I was escorted to the car, and was not surprised to find that the workmanship matched the quality of the office staff. The hood stripe looked like it was put on in the 80mph Mojave wind(dust included!). The headlight was obviously not able to be buffed, and they could have requested a replacement. (Nope! Not here). They didn't even mention it on the invoice or estimate sheet. It would be worth the walk to Bakersfield to avoid this place. Steer clear! (Literally). read more

I called and scheduled an evaluation of my front end for 4pm on Friday August 9, 2024. I arrived at 3:45 to have my vehicle put on a lift to check my suspension as it is wearing my tires out. My car sat until 4:45 at which time it was finally moved to somewhere and 7 minutes later they brought my car back.....seven minutes is the amount of time they took.....the male office employee who is the son of the owner came and said I don't want to take your money. Your tires are out of round I can see it and that is why they are wearing out. I have had this problem before this set of tires. I had this problem before the brakes and rotors....i still have this problem and now my car is dangerous to drive. This is NOT proper service to a local or to anyone else for that matter. Clearly servicing clients on a Friday in the afternoon isn't what they intend to do....i am witness to that. My family has used Scott's auto body...I told my daughter who LOVES Scott's auto body and she said Mom, I love Scott's they will take care of you. They did nothing to help my issue. I left in tears as my car is now dangerous to drive. The Tire Store sent me to Scott's Auto body to look into my suspension saying they are the ones who can find the problem....now what am I suppose to do??? I went to the professionals as I do not have anyone else to look at it. I was blown off by the tire shop and I was blown off by Scott's. Maybe it was just me being a woman by myself.....hence why I came to the professionals. I am beside myself in tears. read more

My Honda CRV's back latch would not open in cold weather. This is a known problem with Hondas. I contacted the Honda dealers in Bakersfield and Lancaster and neither business could guarantee they could fix my problem. I went to Scott's Auto Body and explained the problem I was having. The gentleman that helped me, took the time to look up the complaints online and was able to identify what part was needed and ordered it promptly. Once the part arrived at the shop Erin called me to set up an appointment to come in for the repair. I'm happy to say it is working great and it's so nice to be able to open my trunk. The staff is nice enough, but I am worried they may be incompetent. They're the only game in town so, if you don't have any issues, they'll probably do a good job. I saw some feathering on my old tires so I brought it in to Scotts for an alignment when I got new tires. After couple months I noticed the same and unusual wear so I took it back to get it checked out. The person that helped me looked at the feathering, felt it and said "Yep, that's normal wear." I said "but look how the forward side of each tread is worn more than the aft side and look at how there is a sharp edge on the aft side of each lug." "Nope, that's normal wear," he affirmed. Well, 20,000 miles later when I had to change my tires out again I did not take my van back to Scott's. I am not most bugged that they couldn't fix the problem, but more that they refused to acknowledge there was a problem. read more

I had my car fixed here a few weeks ago and had over $160 worth of personal items stolen out of my car from one of the mechanics. I reported it and was told I would be getting a phone call from the owner regarding my stuff being stolen and I never heard from them. My car had a broken back glass, I had contacted SafeLite who after showing up to replace the glass forgot to bring any molding, then told me they "had" to do the work in their shop. FAIL. Tehachapi auto glass was next, they told me they had to order the glass and would call me in a few days. They never called me back even after I left numerous messages and tried contacting them through Yelp. FAIL. Scotts auto body was GREAT!!! They performed the work in a timely manner, even using the factory made glass, which is better. I highly recommend this shop, they came through when the others failed. read more

I literally had the car repair from hell. Scott's auto body took over 1 month to fix our car and they took so long that the rental my insurance had covered was totally used up and I had to give the rental back and my car was still being worked on. The worker kept telling me your car will be ready this day, it'll be ready the other day, and literally every day he kept telling me my car would be ready that day and something always came up. He then authorized some minor work on my car,never cleared it with my insurance not me, and this small repair delayed the car even longer. I would never ever go back to Scotts for any reason. I will bring my car to the dealership and never recommend these people for any work or any type ever again. read more

I'd rate this place a zero if possible. I'm so dumbfounded that a place can be so incapable and still operating. This place neglected my car wasted so much time and effort. This place knew what initially happened with my car and ignored it. I'm reporting them this place should not be open. I've never meet such rude staff, they did not do a single thing I ask they can't even give a simple phone call back. They lied to my insurance and have dug me in such a deep hole. I went back a second time to try and give them another chance! They basically told me to go somewhere else! When I first tried to pick up my car they told me to buy a part and they'll install it for me. THATS NOT MY JOB. If you want your car to be operating don't even consider this place. I had a perfectly running car before my minor accident. No one should have to deal with car issues after it should have been taken care of the first time. This auto body shop is amazing. Service from day one when I made my appointment was exceptional. I have a Bmw that got ran into and a side panel had to be replaced and everything was great. The communication was good they worked with my schedule. They dealt with all the insurance information which was a major plus. I recently had several different repairs done to my 2013 Ram. The insurance company underestimated how extensive the repairs were but the guys at Scott's worked with the insurance company to get the repairs paid for. When I dropped off the truck I was told to expect it to take about three weeks and it only took 2 1/2. I have an eye for detail and looked over the truck extensively and couldn't find any blemish, speck or other issue with any of the repairs. Everything looked like it did when I bought the truck. The staff at Scott's was friendly, courteous and professional. When I picked up my truck, there was a scuff mark on one of the fender flares not related to any of the repairs and I asked for advice on how to buff out the scratches. Rather than simply tell me how to fix the scuff marks, they took the truck into one of the bays and buffed out the scratches with their machine. It was a nice extra touch that I very much appreciated. Hopefully I won't need any body repairs again but if I do, I won't hesitate to go back to Scotts' Auto Body. read more

Tell your friends to steer clear of this place. They charged my insurance close to $8000 to fix the paint damage (paint only) from a sandstorm. 5 years later it was peeling off in chunks the size of a baseball on the hood and above the windshield because they did not prepare the surface before paint. When I took it back to them, they said the paint only has a 2 yr warranty. I said it was a prep problem, not a paint problem. They gave me an estimate to repair of $700 and I agreed even though I should not have to pay for their incompetence. When they said it was complete, I went to pick it up and they did not fix the peeling paint above the windshield. When I questioned it, the arrogant salesperson said it was not in the estimate. I said bs because they took pictures of the peeling paint above the windshield when I took it back in. Lousy work, no business ethics, and an arrogant attitude.
