The collards were but big unlike the chopped stuff I've had in the past and were good. The baked-beans were also good and I ate most of those too. The ribs (two) looked beautiful with the bark seasoning and they tasted good too. The meal came with some bread that did not taste good and I didn't want to eat all of it. The sweet tea was fabulous and you get free refills and already comes in a styrofoam to-go cup for the win. The service was excellent. The two younger waitresses were very nice, attentive, and helpful. No problems there. We learned from them that there is live music many nights during the week in the evening from around 5-6pm to close (I think around 9pm) Although I had a great experience at Captain Stan's, I unfortunately cannot say that the food is life-changing, which is what I am looking for with BBQ.
