Me and my girlfriend are greedy when it comes to good food, and Papion's absolutely delivered. We got the seafood gumbo, boudin balls, jambalaya, red beans and rice, and beignets--and I honestly cannot pick a favorite because EVERYTHING was seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. The food tasted fresh, authentic, and like somebody actually cared about what was coming out of that kitchen. The seafood gumbo??? BABY. The boudin balls??? The red beans and rice??? AND THEN THE BEIGNETS??? We were fighting for our lives trying not to order more. So sorry we didn't take pictures of the food we ate it to fast. And the owner was so welcoming and personable too. You can tell this isn't just a restaurant where they're trying to feed you and send you on your way--the food and the hospitality both felt genuine. Papion's is officially a MUST whenever we're in Shreveport. I'm actually offended that y'all are closed tomorrow because I wanted to come back. 10/10, absolutely phenomenal. We will DEFINITELY be back! Officially on my love list

The catfish basket had two filets and was $17, which also felt overpriced for the portion. The service was also extremely slow. Looking around the restaurant, we noticed that nearly every table was waiting on drink refills, so it wasn't just our table experiencing the issue. Maybe the weekday specials are what earn the great reviews, but they aren't available on Saturdays. Based on our experience, we'd choose somewhere else next time.

I ate here for lunch thinking Smokey's Joes was opened on Monday from 5-9pm. Had an overpriced and dried croissant chicken sandwich that was not good. It needed mayo for sure and tomato and the lettuce was very tiny piece placed on the bottom. I guess I am too spoiled at Buc-ee's. Once I found out Smokey Joe's was closed on Monday, I came here to use my $35 dollar food credit. Here is what I ordered for the $35 1. Caesar Salad 2. Pecan Bar 3. Bag of Chips 4. Frito Pie 5. Texas Chili 6. Gumbo But the bad/good news is the food is all premade so you get your food ASAP. The bad news is it does not tastes good as you like it. I finally got to try most of everything. The gumbo was good with the frito pie. Texas chili was good too. Soup can not go wrong. The salad was good too. I wish they had more restaurants opened during the weekdays like at Bally's.

The Java burger that is microwaved and so not worth the $8.00, I could have went to Burger King or McDonald's and got a better burger.
