After a long week of adulting, we decided to treat ourselves to the mask bar at scratch goods. It was exactly how a self-care Saturday should start. The space is beautifully decorated and inviting. I enjoyed that the host did not rush any of the steps and we were able to enjoy the company of each other while also pampering ourselves. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself and your loved ones to a special mask bar day date.

It was a pleasant experience. I found this place whole planning a progressive happy hour crawl. Scratch Goods has a happy hour special as well . It's worth checking out !

I had a good time and my skin was looking and feeling Gorg after class. However, one hour for class felt a bit rushed and $65 was a bit much ($80 if you want to use an extra jade roller). We left with mask brushes as souvenirs. The oil cleanse and hot towels were my favorite part of the experience. BYOB and non-alcoholic bevs available for purchase. I think the website needs more FAQ about how to prepare for class and what to expect. The influencer reels/TikTok's were not informative enough. Should I wear makeup to class? What happens if I wear lashes? Will I need to bring a headband? Etc. Us anxious girlies need to know these things ahead of time.

We had a blast making scrubs as a group--it was such a relaxing and creative activity. I appreciated how we could really take our time with it, and the oil base the store uses is amazing. Scratch Goods is definitely a win for fun, self-care, and quality ingredients!

My friends and I came here to pamper ourselves and learn more about natural organic skincare. One thing to note is this establishment allows you to bring in your own bottle of wine to partake in during the activity! Super cool stuff. We arrived and were seated together at a table for four. You're provide the mixing bowl and tools needed as soon as you arrive to your station. It's very interactive per the speaker guiding the class - so feel free to go with a group or solo and make friends! My favorite part of the class were the hot towels provided to allow the product to soak into the skin while also serving as a cleansing cloth. One critique I would offer is light music to play in the background during quiet moments of the session to really set the ambiance. The only reason I offer four stars rather than the full five is because of the price. I feel $65 is steep for you to pamper yourself and only go home with a brush.

I was gifted a facial session here for my birthday and it was such a cute gift!! The whole space is absolutely adorable. When you walk in you see the goods they sell which is a handful of different self-care items and the swings. There are paintings where the space features different artists and you can purchase the paintings as well so don't miss this! The whole experience was very zen and super fun to do with your friends or family. You are given directions on how to build your mask and you get to pick the type of mask that goes on your face based on your skin type/what you skin needs. Tip: Scratch Goods holds different events that you can find on their website!

Had a wekend pampering sesh with scratch goods mask bar Had the best time learning & diy-ing masks with my friend on a Saturday mask bar does small batch skincare with the first every diy mask bar such a fantastic weekend activity going through their cleansing oil, steaming, clay masks, face mists, face oils and butters, and gua sha I don't think I've ever learned about beauty routines properly so this was also a fast track to educate myself about each step of the way. This helped me add certain steps to my routine 1First started with every daze konjac - that my friend said is sold in Costco. The peach flavor was AMAZING And my friend swears by it. She'd say, "I swear my skin looks better the next day" 2Then the cleansing oil is really nice and creamy. They say this should be the longest process in your routine. 1 pump for normal wear i.e. sunscreened face, 2 pumps for if you have makeup 3The clay mask came next after a hot towel light steaming process. it helps with blood flow and gentle exfoliation.  You can mix from 3 liquid mixers cherry juice ( vitamins + antioxidents) , Coffee ( caffeine+brightening acids) or walnut milk ( pressed inhouse + Great oils ) You can also choose from 3 clays: Sea kelp ( minerals + sulfur that's calming), Matcha ( brightening + blood flow), charcoal (cleansing) 4I swear my skin felt really amazing the next day, especially because we spent 5min+ steaming our face with the masks and worked through their 6 different oils/butters depending on your skin: lash & brow oil, lavender mint "all over butter", Dark matter coffee eye butter, face oil, Heavy face oil (avocado oil), face butter 5I ended up buying a gua sha as well, as we learned about the 120+ lymph nodes we had our body and how it helps reduce puffiness and increase blood flow , moving the tool outwards and downwards (starting with the neck, then the chin on the rigid side) So nice! Book it with friends

LOVE LOVED this place, located in the west loop. If you want to try something different, and love skincare this place is for you. You are literally making masks from scratch - natural products it's a mask bar. Was about an hour, felt like a real spa with, great staff, owner, and a really great gift shop. Good for ladies day, date day, bestie dates! They also offer yoga on Wednesday's!

Address is incorrect on yelp because they keep moving

I was initially introduced to the brand via an article that described their products as "food grade". Fast forward to maybe a couple of years later & I'm a loyal customer. I can't speak to all their products but I'd be comfortable in stating that their "tea tree cleansing oil" is the best face wash I've ever tied. EVER. The physical shop tends to move around however I've been told their permanent home will be ready soon. I've purchased a gift voucher for the mask class & the recipient told me that had a decent time there. I once had a "faulty" mask from here & after an email I was given a hefty store credit. Also after a brief conversation with the owner she assured me that I can reach out with any questions or concerns & also that she'd be willing to offer suggestions which are helpful because many products come with instructions on how to properly use them.

Lovely and relaxing experience. We booked the private mask bar for our quarterly women's night, and the experience was wonderful. This isn't an inexpensive experience, 90 pp with booking fee and tip, but it was worth it. It's byob, so we had time at the beginning to socialize a bit and enjoy our drinks. Since we were coming from the office, it was super helpful that they had a small storage closet for us to store our bags and sweaters. The facial involves multiple steps (An oil cleanse, mask application, lash and brow treatment, moisturizing, and jade rolling) the host walks us through every step at a good pace slowing down to accommodate our chatting and slower group members. The host also took time to explain the benefits of each step. The vibe was cute and relaxing with lights strung up and everything setup and ready to go. I would definitely recommend this as a unique outing experience with your people!

A wonderful small business to support! I heard about Scratch Goods through a charity auction and had the opportunity to get quite a few products. Overall, they all were great - some just weren't for me but it doesn't mean they were poor quality! We got two dryer balls which make an absolute world of a difference and are very reasonable price wise. The jade roller and nail brush are great quality and something I now use weekly. We got two scrubs, the lavender mint and the lemon charcoal. These seemed small when I got them but a little goes a very long way and the lemon charcoal smells so fresh and is my personal favorite. The deodorant stick smells very nice but for me personally it doesn't glide on the way I'd like it and the sweat protection isn't ideal. The body oil is a very nice smell but I have sensitive skin and it doesn't seem to react well with it but I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a subtle way to smell really nice.

Wow! The 60-minute Mask Bar experience is incredible. The Fulton Market studio, which will relocate on May 20, is intimate, bright, and beautifully decorated with greenery. It's a spectacular space with all products made in-house. Everything is food-grade and pure, so there are no chemicals or dangerous ingredients in the products. Our mask bar was guided by Ashley, who was so fun and personable. When we arrived, she checked our coats and we stepped into some slippers. She directed us through each step of the process, from using tea tree oil to remove makeup, mixing mask powder with fresh pressed juices, mask application and steam towel removal, and applying face oil at the end. It's truly divine. As a bonus, you get to keep your application brush after the treatment! All products are for sale, so you can take home anything that you enjoyed. I purchased the jade roller and tea tree oil to bring home with me. Get your $38 tickets on the scratchgoods.com website; you can follow them on Instagram (@scratchgoods) to get updates on availability and enjoy their impressively curated stories. I highly recommend this for a birthday party, bachelorette party, or self care day! It was a wonderful experience and my skin feels nourished and healthy.

I NO LONGER FEEL "SAFE" AT THIS WALGREENS!…read more This is not about the service I received in the Greek town location. It's about what happened after I left the store. This occurred approximately 14-hours ago (12:30-ish am/2/3/24). It was around mid-night that I decided to walk down the street a few blocks to Walgreens. I only purchased cereal and milk... and a small bag of popcorn. For the record, hopefully everything inside the store was caught on the security cameras. While shopping in the aisles, I had spoken to a police officer who was shopping, thanking him for his service. They do a job that you couldn't pay me enough to do. Anyway, after walking slowly through the store (I walk slow due to health problems), I paid for each item then stepped aside to make room for the next customer while I looked at my receipt and put the items in my own (blue & white) shopping bag. It's made of a sort of sturdier than paper cloth. I got myself together and finally exited the store at a slow walking pace. By the time I reached the traffic light at the end of the block (going north at Monroe), I stopped to open my bag of popcorn. I was struggling to open the bag, due to health problems). Suddenly, a slightly taller than me, heavy-set male approached me from behind, demanding in a threatening tone to show him what's in my bag. I initially thought I was being robbed. I slowly turned around asking, "Why? (trying to stall and access)". The street was dark, isolated, and no traffic. Where's a cop car when you need one? Hey. There's a cop inside the Walgreens. That said, the guy kept demanding I show him what's in my bag. Was I being mugged? I asked, "Who are you?" He seemed to get frustrated not answering my question and demanded I show him the contents of my bag. Now, I really think I'm getting mugged. I still asked him, "Why?" He got even more frustrated and said, "Just open your bag!" Once again, I asked "Why?" Was this a hungry homeless person?,,, Retarded?... I mean, mentally challenged. Should I scream? I suddenly thought to myself... Is this a Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman moment (Feb 26, 2012) when a non-Black guy (hiding a gun on his person) stalks a lone African-American male in a dark, isolated area with no witnesses to start a physical altercation (fight) after which said non-Black guy pulls out the gun he was hiding, to murder the African-American male... Then claim he feared for his life, shooting in self-defense of the altercation he started with a guy who was minding his own business? He then said something like. "There's a box in your bag". A box? I turned to look inside my bag to see what box he was referring to. Before I knew it, he reached inside my bag and grabbed my box of cereal (Cheerios) and walked off real fast in the direction of the Walgreens. Did I mention, I don't walk fast? I walked back to the store to tell the police officer inside (provided he was still there) and the Walgreens that I had just been robbed by a hungry homeless person. He took my box of Cheerios and ran off. I still had the milk. I was willing to risk it sounding funny, By the time I reached the front entrance, the young woman who waited on me at the cash register met the guy just outside the store. She was talking to him. Oh... Is this moron a Walgreens employee who didn't have the sensed to identify himself as such? He was not wearing a Security uniform, and he was not the police. When I got there, the cashier was so apologetic. She told me that after my very slow departure from the store, an alarm went off. Really? It must've been silent because I didn't hear any alarm... and I was walking slow as a snail. I asked, "This is what sent this moron (still standing there for some reason) stalking down the street behind me?"... Oh... I get it now... He was treating me like I was a CRIMINAL. He expected me to blindly do as he said while refusing to answer my basic questions ("Who are you?" and "Why do you want to see what's in my bag?") Had I realized that, this would've ended with me cussing him da'hell out on the street... and probably escalating. Why didn't anyone tell the cop inside the store? Why send an inexperienced, over-excited, don't know anything employee who is not even law enforcement to assault me? OK. Now I can't help this. Was it because I'm black? Although the cashier apologized, this incident is still with me. For all I know, I was targeted, it was done one purpose, and I'm not convinced it won't happen again. Anyway, I just thought I should document this incident somewhere, in case incidents like this happen all the time to black people at this Walgreens location... or any others.

They said I need to go to urgent care for that. I go to urgent care, they find nothing wrong, I go to my primary doctor they find nothing wrong. Months later it is still there, I have a routine cleaning. They tell me I need a root canal and the bump is from a root canal. They went ahead and quoted me thousands of dollars and made an appt for me with the endodontist for this to happen. I thought this was strange, so I wanted to go see an endodontist somewhere else to get a second option. So I head over to aspen dental, the endodontist took X-rays and a quick check, and said nothing is wrong but it looks like you have an overdue filling that caused your gums to swell. Chicago dental was going to preform a completely unnecessary procedure on me. I told them there is a filling I need done, they saw the images and filled it. I'm not sure if it's a money scan or truly a lack of knowledge. They cost me thousands of dollars telling me in the first place the bump I had was nothing they could deal with when in reality it was just an overdue filling. The front desk staff is very unknowledgeable and never should have let this situation happen.

Afterward, my skin looked like I had a mild sunburn and felt warm, but I was still comfortable enough to meet family for dinner. Jennifer explained exactly what to expect and how to care for my skin, and she was spot-on (as always). By the next morning, the redness was gone, and my skin felt tighter, smoother, and glowing. I was naive at the time but I really wanted a little bit added to my bottom so I went in for a consult. I was also really skinny (like model skinny) so even then she told me oh yeah I've had patients your size or smaller do procedures by me, I wish she rejected me or at least did a less risky procedure since her skills didn't match the words I heard. My body was so perfect in every way before this procedure (just wanted a little boost on my bottom). I remember I said "I heard some peoples shoulders get bigger she was like "Oh no that's not true at all." She did Lipo to my stomach which barely had much fat, inner thighs, and back. Anyways 6 yrs later and I'm struggling with my body image. I've lost my confidence, my skinny bbl doesn't look great, can't find a solution because I have skin laxity on my back and stomach, scarring/tethering (again this is from the aggressive lipo she did and how she used the surgical tools), Lipo fibrosis on stomach and back and yes the upper back looks bigger. I followed all the instructions of wearing the compression garment and everything. The problem wasn't the aftercare instructions I perfectly followed, the problem was the poor surgical technique. She did aggressive lipo on me, took out too much fat because I was thin and ruined the look of my skin. I now have 2 rolls on my back that I never had before my procedure and I feel always bloated for some odd reason no matter what I eat healthy or not even though my diet didn't change. I only gained about 10 pounds (still at a weight women would love) but even with that if the surgical skills were good the body would grow out nice and even, it wouldn't look botched. I wish she rejected me and told me to come back in a year or 2 if I want something permanent after I try something temporary. I wish she told me thoroughly and openly what kind of problems can come up (this was only briefly discussed and none of the problems I have now were discussed as potential issues after surgery). I wish she gave me a temporary option or smaller procedure not as damaging as a first solution to see what it would look like. I didn't receive any other options. I think plastic surgeons (especially ones who've had botched outcomes from their work) need to give a couple options and really think about if the contouring will look nice with each option so the patient can have a good long term outcome and more people will trust them for procedures. Dr. Cobbins took away the most thing that made me confident back then and damaged my body. I am struggling in every way imaginable because of this procedure done by Dr. Lorri Cobbins. The most perfect parts of my body were ruined because of horrible surgical technique and now I am left grieving it. I struggle every day to look for a way to fix it and I'm too afraid to go to someone else that may further damage me. I don't take photos anymore like I used to, I don't try on clothes when I shop like I want to. I can't look at myself in the mirror the same way. Please if you want a better/different look try temporary cosmetic things first so they go away if you don't like them and you don't have to live with the permanent result of a botched procedure.
