So I was the do-it-yourself during lockdown during my time away from work. However, I learned that certain screen doors require more care to detail and construction. Therefore, the universal ones from City Mill or Lowes/Home Depot would not fit. Please take it from me and save yourself money, time and disappointment by calling Screen Works for a free estimate. The clerk who assisted me was Ronson who scheduled a time via call and updated via text with me. After receiving my estimate I was able to make a decision on getting the semi-durable construction or the higher grade model. Ronson informed me it would take about 3-4 weeks to get in stock since they build it but materials have to be flown in. Covid delayed the time of getting my screen door but I only knew after calling. Ronson apologized and it's of course forgive-able. Their plant where they order had to shut down which caused the delay. Screen Works also can do work if the screen replacement as well. You can bring it to their shop but the convenience of having someone come to you is all the better! After repainting our home, it became obvious that our screen on one of our patio door needed to be re-screened. Not really thinking much about where to have it done, I drove to the nearest City Mill. I was told it would take approximately 8-10 days for the repair. It's summertime, temperatures are in the 90's, and now I'll have to keep my patio closed, preventing what little trade winds there was from cooling our home for a week and a half. Feeling helpless, I reluctantly left my door for repair. Later that same day, I decided to have a sliding screen door replaced (it was one of those Home Depot with the adjustable height that felt so flimsy) and another screen door (ripped screen) repaired. The new door I got from him was much better quality than the original. My window has been damaged for a while now, and I called city mill in Ewa to ask if they could make me a window. They said I needed to bring the damaged window in for exact measurements and if the window didn't fit. It would be on me not them. Understandable. But then they told me it would take 14 days to make the window. Unacceptable. Called the guy who works at Screen Works. I told him I needed a window, with the measurements of 22x35 in. He asked me a few questions which I didn't know the answers to but he waited patiently while I went to find the answers to those questions. I asked how long it would take to make 1 window. He asked how quickly I needed it. I told him asap if possible. He told me it could be finished in 30 minutes! Dang! My dad assessed the rest of the windows around our house, and decided 4 windows total needed to be replaced. The guy who works here (never got his name) made 4 brand new windows for us in 45 minutes! Great service! I would highly recommend anyone who needed exterior aluminum screen windows that are box shaped to go this man. He had a wonderful attitude, very pleasant man. I wish i got his name. Wanted to add a pet screen to our sliding door Ron did an excellent job, I used him before on other screen projects, still great work, knows his stuff, recommend him for any screen projects! I was having a little problem with installing the door after picking it up, apparently wheels on door wasn't functioning correctly, and then it fell out, called Ron, it was almost the end of his working day, but he said no problem, bring it back, he'll see what he could do, he said he " won't let a door defeat him" lol! He even showed me the problem and why it fell out, to begin with, it wasn't even installed correctly, seems like it was just placed in there, this was a brand new sliding door that came with our home, it was the first time he seen a sliding door built this way, but said they pretty much function the same way.
