Disappointed Doesn't Cover It! We have some good friends who purchased a screen door from Prescott Screenmobile in PV and had it installed 6 months ago. They paid $1,500 for the door. On our friends' recommendation, we called them several months ago to get a quote and they finally came out last week - they are obviously slammed. He gave us an estimate for $2,300 -- a 53% increase . In fact, the door we selected was less ornate then our friends. I look at him rather startled and said our friends paid $1,500 six months ago. He said the cost of materials went up and they had to raise their prices 4 times in the last few months because of steel costs. The cost of steel peaked last April and is down 25% since then. I think he pulled up to our house and thought, I can charge these people whatever I want. We also wanted to resize our existing slider screens that came too high out of the factory. He wanted $150 each for 2 sliders. I did each door in about 30 mins and saved $300 in the process. I guess they are so busy they simply don't care and are willing to gouge customers. read more

Ben came TO ME and installed a new sliding screen doorstep . Very high quality stuff, my daughter opens and clothes the door all day long and it still rolls nicely and works great! We wanted to screen off the overhang at the back of our residence for an open air place to put our cat box in good weather and a place for our cats to enjoy the beauty of our backyard. We saw another similar business represented, but their product was not nearly as well made or attractive, so we passed them and went with Prescott ScreenMobile. After we moved into the new house, Ben came by to see what might work best for us. We wanted to replace the poorly fitting security door that came with the house (1+ inch gaps above and below the door), probably from a big box store. They fit perfectly they are more secure than our solid front and side doors because of the locking mechanism, the mount, and the materials.
