I can't say enough good about this company! From the measuring to the installation. Super Super SUPER!!!!

Many years ago Screens and Things install a security screen door. Over the years, the locking mechanism have broke several times. At first I was able to get a new costly locking mechanism through ST but several years ago they discontinued carrying this item and my option was to put in a new screen door. In the meanwhile, I had ST I stall a costly security sliding screen door. The installer was not able to secure the rubber binding flush to the door way and many lizards got into the room through the large gaps in the door tracks. I have since contacted ST and got the same answer as the installer gave me. Their products do not keep out "critters" and I am again left with no alternative but to have another door installer by someone other than ST. I would not recommend Screen and Things as their customer service does not measure up for their higher price products they sell. read more

Attempted to get quote from them to add a sliding screen door. They quoted to the quickest, easiest thing and the first proposal would have left a gap against my existing glass door. Then they asked me to pay 100% up front so I couldn't ensure they did it correctly. If you want something done right without cutting corners, I would look somewhere else. read more

We've used Screens & Things a couple of times for two different jobs; replacing our flimsy sliding screen door and installing a security screen door on our front door entrance. Their website is easy to navigate through and that's where I submitted my initial inquiry/quote for services. Response time was pretty quick; within a couple of business days and they scheduled a technician to come out to measure as our doors were custom sizes. Fabrication, scheduling and installation in total took somewhere between 4 - 6 weeks for both jobs and I believe a 50% deposit was required for large orders over $1,000. Scheduling for install was within a 4 hour window and I was called a couple weeks in advance for our sliding screen door. There was a schedule opening for our front door install due to a last minute schedule cancellation so they came out the very next day! The installation techs are quick and efficient. Bottom line is they do the work right which is why we decided to go with Screens & Things. Any balance due is cured once installation is complete. The techs took the time to explain any additional work that needs to be done in the event that a build out is necessary and they cleaned the area of any dust at the end of the job. I did most of my communication via email and customer service was great for the most part when I did receive timely responses. No issues when you call however as someone always answered in the main office. All in all, we're satisfied with the work that was done for us and the products are really good quality that is durable to last compared to what we had or other products we looked at possibly getting. This company installed new windows back in 2021 but got the order wrong so one window was not repaired. Been trying since then to get it replaced, have called these guys 3 times and each time they said they would call me back. Still waiting on a call back. The repaired windows are fine so when they actually call back to schedule a job, it seems like there service is good, it's just getting a call back that seems difficult. read more

My windows suck, but the screens are custom made and fitted. Fitted well. You know, I know Screens and Things has all the supplies you need to make your own screens, but sometimes when you don't have the means to do it and you want it done right the first time, the price is worth it. And they came to me. Everybody from my first visit, estimate(I'm sorry forgot your name), second visit (nice friendly female, (kind of tomboyish, excellent customer service and knew her stuff and could answer all my questions), Christopher, as well as Wayne and Jeremiah were professional, personable (Aloha), efficient. Excellent employees make the experience a little easier for first timers like me. And for regulars! And, maybe it's a great company to work for. I just had a "Malama" security screen door installed on my unit and couldn't be happier!! It's such a relief to finally have a durable security door, unlike the steel door I had previously from a big-box hardware store that rusted out within a year. I definitely paid more for my Malama, but at least I know I won't have to worry about any rust or un-neccesary maintenance, yet can have security and airflow!! Customer service was extremely knowledgeable and their technicians were as well. My door did take a few weeks to come in because it was a "special size", but it was well worth the wait. So I broke this little mirror at my work place, I dropped it and it shattered into a lot of pieces. The owner told me to shop around and see if anyone could make us a new mirror. I called this place and another in Kalihi. The other company quoted me $60. Screens and things quoted me $40 (over the phone with my measurements). On Thurs I came in to have them look at the wooden frame the mirror was in but when I came in the mirror guy wasn't there. Tanya helped me and said I could leave the frame and they'll get me an exact quote. She called me later and got me a quote of $20 and the item was in stock and that they could have it ready in a few hours. I couldn't rush back before they closed so she said she'll put a note for their Friday morning employees about my project and e-mailed me an invoice so that I could bring it in and they can pull up my info. So on Friday I came and picked up the mirror which they put into the frame for me. :) Tanya is super nice and such a hard worker. She went above and beyond and I was impressed by this company due to her. I've called them before for a different project and ended up going to Akamai Glass because the reception I spoke to back then was super rude and never did call back with quotes! Currently getting my mirror on my closet door repaired by them. Two times, today being the second time, I was supposed to have it delivered and both times they brought my closet door with cracks in the mirror. All they had on the closet door were cardboard covering the corners. NOTHING was covering the mirror itself to protect it during transportation. You'd think because it's a mirror they would cover it up with a bunch of padding, so it arrives in good condition, but I guess not. Not to mention, I live in an apartment on the 40th floor and they will not deliver it upstairs to my place. My closet door is definitely not small or light to carry. I would not recommend this company, especially if you're dealing with mirrors. read more

Installed security screens and blackout shades in our bedroom. Looks really nice and the shade color and look is pretty professional. I think they said usually more radiologists install this in their office rather than people at home. I like how dark it gets b/c I need to sleep odd hours and also at night we face the street. the shade color and look itself is quite nice but the chain that rolls it up and down looks and feels a bit budget and flimsy. There was the option to get it motorized but it was already quite expensive to begin with. Seems like there should be a slicker looking non-motorized mechanism to roll it up and down. Also when we bring the screen all the way down it wrinkles a bit on one side, prolly b/c our floor tile might be a little uneven. That is pretty minor. The security screens also look nice. The two guys that came to install were friendly and nice. The installation took quite a bit of time - our quoted time frame was between 10-1 and it was more like 11-4 but I appreciated their effort. We had no problems with people getting back to us when we made our initial inquiries. Very responsive by email which we appreciated. I think the price is expensive but you get what you pay for; looks much nicer than our previous shades from budget blinds. read more

I had a appointment scheduled for August 5th 2021 Thursday and spoke to a gentleman and told him about my condominium requirements for a aluminum window frame with sliding windows which I wished to replace my old jalousies window, he seems nice ,Later on about 2 days later on Friday July 30th Friday I get a call about and earlier appointment due to someone canceling their time so I was told that they would come the next day Saturday the 31st at 9:15 am to 10:30 am and I told that person they must come before 12:15 as I have to go to work so I waited and waited ,I get no phone call or text that they would be late so by 12: 20 I had to leave and while l am leaving out the door this guy shows up , such rude people , I will not do business with them No apology or anything,What kind of business does that . So far not very impressed with Screens & Things service. I met with Robert Kincaid at their Beretania street location inquiring about a shower door. I was told to call to schedule for someone to come out and measure for a shower door and give me an estimate. I tried called three times over two and a half days with no response. I finally get a call back and we schedule a day but Robert can only give me PM as a time. I say okay and adjust my work schedule. Two days before the appointment I get a call saying they will be at my house between 11am and 1pm. I wonder when 11 am became the new pm. I tried to explain that I might be late, they would not listen and just kept repeating your time is 11am to 1pm. We will see what happens. I will be updating this review after I meet with the estimator. Hopefully he doesn't arrive too early. 8-12-15 Update today I received a call from Robert Kincaid regarding my concerns that I posted yesterday. I have to give him 2 stars for being very responsive to Yelps reviews. Robert changed my estimation time from 11-1pm to 2-4pm at least I don't have to worry about not being home. Robert also asked about my problem contacting someone to get a appointment. He was very concerned and apologitic. He wanted to know what phone number I was calling and who. When I told him it was his phone number and he was the one I left messages for he became a little defensive stating that he schedules people in the showroom when they come in. Which is something he did not do. Robert lastly asked me change my review, I can't do this I am only telling the truth I think Robert is the one making up stories I really feel like Robert is trying to cover things up so his boss doesn't find out what's going on. If you go to Screens & Things please don't deal with Robert. I will be updating when I meet the estimator tomorrow. 8-13-15 The estimators Sam and his partner came at 3:15pm. They were very professional and quick. They also gave me a very good suggestion on finishes which I took. Thanks. 5 stars to these guys. 8-14-15 I received a call from Jim Camacho. He had my estimate already. He emailed over two proposals containing two different options. Proposals were very well done and clear. He also gave me the heads up that he would be out of the office until Tuesday because of the BIA show this weekend. Thank you. 5 stars to Jim for being professional timely. Inconsistent service....a couple years ago I had used Screens and Things to replace a bathroom window and they were (then) attentive, responsive, and quick. Two months ago, I needed a whole new sliding screen door, and replacement on two louvre window operators. I called them back..... Very good service getting an estimator to come in. His was name Robert. When he came over, he was completely unfriendly and resistant helping us at first but slowly warmed up. He did not want to look at the other jobs we needed done but seemed to be in a rush. Because the frame in the screen door had broken, we had duct taped it. He took it off to measure the frame and retaped it partially (left a lot of gaps and left the door falling off). We didn't know till after he left our home. Five minutes after he left, we called to complain and the company said they would have him call us back. He called back but said he was too far away and it would be awhile before he returned. We said to forget it and that we would retape the door ourselves. With the estimate they said that they would get back to us within 30 days after receiving a 50% down payment. This was June 23rd when they cleared my deposit. I called them on July 25th to see what was happening as no one followed up at all. No apologies but they then made the appointment for an install saying they would contact me two days before installation....never happened. They called the day before installation saying 8:30am. We made arrangements to meet them at 8:30. The installer called at 8:15 - 8:20 saying they would be there at 9:30. I said "what happened to the 8:30 schedule?" He said politely, "I'm not the one making schedules." When the installer did come, he knew his job and was quick and efficient, helping us out with questions and even putting in an extra screw to address a small concern we had. He was great, both polite and respectful. He did discover that the estimator had incorrectly quoted us on a product and repair that had no parts available. .......While Screens and Things has a great field workers, watch out and make sure their estimators and office staff follow up. It just felt the office's attitude and even the estimator's attitude is one of indifference once they get their downpayment. read more

Love this company! Our sliding glass door was getting warped and the rollers weren't functioning. Got an estimate from other companies who said they don't repair doors that they didn't install and that we'd have to install a whole new door and side panels, which would've cost an arm and a leg. Our neighbor recommended we contact Screens & Things. We called and they sent Wayne right away to do an estimate. Due to his experience, he knew he could fix our door. He even worked to squeeze us in as soon as possible to ensure we had a safe functioning glass door. In no time, they had our door fixed, and it cost way less than a new installation. They are very experienced, reliable, and thorough, and have amazing customer service. I especially appreciate that they cared about us and treated us as if we were family. We had a screen door that was severly bent and Screens & Things came to the rescue! The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and very efficient. We needed the screen door within days due to an event that was happening that week and Screens & Things put a rush job on it and had to us in plenty of time. When two of the staff came to install the screen, they were very friendly and quick! So much so that we are having them do more work for us with replacing some window screens. Our custom closet door shattered (it was frosted glass) and we needed a replacement. Screens and Things came quickly to measure and assess what we needed. In the end, and after a bit of time and much research, they found a comparable product we could special order. We ended up not ordering the custom product and replaced it with a mirrored door instead. The turnaround from that point was one day. Overall, I'm happy. I'm a bit floored by how much a door costs, but I think it's typical because of its size. In any case, I felt as though the company paid attention to our order and got it moving on a reasonable schedule. Would use them again if needed. read more
