horrible experience. tries to act all nice, but then takes my screens for a week, brings back different type without informing me, using a tension bar "for stronger" but it blocks my view of the ocean, then when I tell him I've tried for two days to live with them, he yells and lies.. takes up 4 days because they did wrong size on one, then doesn't have screws on all four and takes my wrong screens for another week, waste of my time and he doesn't apologize doesn't give any discount for MY trouble and time and will never recommend. They are mobile, easy to reach, do 'okay' work and are pretty fast. What more could you want. Pricing seems to be in line with other quotes for large sliding door screen replacement. But: I purchased a sliding door screen and it was the 'heavy duty', but it feels very flimsy - though I'm not sure how it should feel - it just feels flimsy - not sturdy like the old screen. It works, but: There are some alignment problems and some gaps on one end and the strip on the other end keeps getting caught in the glass door making it hard to close w/o messing around with it. I'm a bit conflicted -- I want to like it and the maker, better, but I don't think it's the best I might have been able to get for $500. I tried to post something more positive, but after living with it for a few weeks, it still doesn't sit right (literally and figuratively) - so it is what it is. I called Stacey to put back 2 screens that had fallen off during a storm . He offered to help even it was the Fourth of July. He came and took the torn screens back to his shop.Two days later he came back with his partner to replace the screens. It was not an easy task because he had to balance on a ladder on uneven ground to reinstall my kitchen windows which are on the second story. The screens were clean.tight and brand new. He replaced the old plastic screen holders with metal ones.Great job no more flys and birds coming in my Kitchen. Would highly recommend Stacey for all your screening needs! read more

They called me to come by yesterday- he was leaving Hawaii Kai heading back west and we are in kaimuki. He stopped by- asked me for a screwdriver and played around with my screen for 5 minutes and before I could say anything he says that will be $100. He has never even given me a quote yet- I assumed that was coming after he looked at the screen doors as they weren't rolling properly. I was stunned- then he says it's because of his drive time but he was already headed back from Hawaii Kai to the west and let's not forget he hadn't even quoted the issue yet. I'm not sure what is happening with this organization. Stacy came out and was a really nice guy. I needed to replace a sliding screen door and a window screen. Stacy came out, measured, removed the window screen, and then quoted me $425 for a simple window screen and $475 for a simple sliding screen door. When he left with my screen, I called him and told him that I can only afford the window screen and we'll hold off on the screen door. They lost the measurements and wanted the measurements again. It has been 1 year. I called to let them know I would like the screen back... they don't where it is. WEIRD... strange... not comfortable. read more

Our dog ripped a hole in the screen door on our lanai and based on Yelp reviews I gave Stacey's a call. There's an old saying that you can have up to 2 of 3 - Fast, Good, and Cheap. Was the job fast? Depends on how you define fast. I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly, though he showed up over 3 hours late. The work was certainly completed quickly, as Sy "didn't feel like taking the door off the track". Was the work good? It's done, though since he didn't take the door off the screen is not fully stretched and there are bulges at the top. To be fair it's a large door at 9' tall and 50" wide, but that's why I paid for a professional rather than doing it myself for a fraction of the cost. Hopefully it holds up, but when I asked if he offered a warranty on his work the response was "Why does everybody ask about a warranty?!?" Was it cheap? The original quote was for $150, then it was $200, and he didn't mention that he couldn't take cards until it was time to pay. I don't keep a lot of cash lying around, so he charged me "sales tax" for writing a check. If you're in a rush they'll get the job done, but I won't do business with them again. read more

I have only one screen to repair, so instead of having him come over to the apartment, I went to his shop. He repaired the screen quickly and I was on my way. His shop is on Puuhale Road, a right turn off of Nimitz and look for the tan colored building on the left. He'll tell you to call when you're opposite the school on the corner. Sy initially did a good job on my screen door repair and was a really nice guy. Then I called him for another repair on another sliding door- and he way over quoted me $500 for a screen door simple repair. Although I really liked Sy initially, I will never use him again because as a "senior" I think he took me for a fool thinking I was stupid and desperate. If you didn't want to do the repair, you should have just told me NO, I cannot do this. I need to post this to warn other kamaaiana "senior" or trusting people that there are many other quick screen repair companies. I found another way more honest person than Sy, that did the repair very quick, and was fair, with honest pricing. This is the second time I've used Stacey's Mobile Screen Repair. I see people's low rated reviews, and I was a little worried since I'm under a time frame because this is my rental property. Be patient and just keep texting him. You have to realize this is a "one man band" and he's busy. I needed a new screen door and an old louver mechanism replaced. I'm happy with his work! The screen door is nice and solid! The old louver mechanism was old and corroded, but he was able to replace it, clean up and oil the louvers. We wanted to use this business bc our neighbors had spoken so highly of them. So Sy came to our apt and took measurements. Seemed very friendly and actually took one of our window screens to use as a reference. Bc we were asking for specialty security screens we thought maybe he can't do it or taking a while to figure it out. Fast forward a few weeks and no call. So we call them again and have found another place to do security screen and so we just want regular screens. They come back to take the lanai door screen measurements. Fast forward another few weeks and no calls. The hub calls and Stacey says they are waiting for a delivery from the mainland. Ok no problem. Fast forward another few weeks and no call. The hub calls Stacey and now there is some problem, not sure is it a personal emergency, problem with a supplier? Final determination is unclear what they will do. So finally we have given up on them will be looking elsewhere. I completely understand that personal emergencies are unavoidable. Or supplier issues. If it's a personal issue, I'm truly sorry if they have to go through any personal hardships. I don't blame them for not being able to do the job whatever the reason. I only expect a phone call - hey we can't fulfill your order sorry - as a common courtesy to us. We gave them the benefit of the doubt bc our neighbors spoke so highly of Sy and that's on us. Also now we are missing even the old window screen bc they have it still. They seem like nice people. But this is a rating of their business practice. read more

The guy I met was Stacy I assume. I sent out a text to his number I got from YELP at around 7 am an got a reply in about 10 minutes. I explained the job and since it was kind of small he asked if I could drop off the broken screen to him which I like a lot better then having a person come to the house. I had sent pictures to him and he quoted me a price over the phone. I dropped off the broken screen at his shop near OCCC and was told it would take about an hour. I used Stacy and Sy on recommendation from his brother and my other tennis friends. You know in Hawaii we try to help friends out. So last year it took them nearly 3 months to make 3 simple window frames and screens. When I called to see when it'll be ready after waiting 2 months they said they'll get to it as soon as they get back from las Vegas.
