Scripps booked a telehealth appointment with my 18 year old son and didn't tell him or me, the parent responsible for payment, that preventative care telehealth visits are not covered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I got nailed with a $350 bill instead of a standard $35 co-pay....TEN TIMES AS MUCH for telehealth. And Scripps doesn't tell you this before scheduling telehealth visits. I had no idea telehealth was this expensive and Scripps didn't inform us of the out-of-pocket cost. The fact that BX/BS covers nothing is ridiculous, but that's a separate complaint. When I called Scripps to complain that they didn't disclose the out-of-pocket cost to the patient or parent, they claimed it was my responsibility to research it. Outrageous. There are only two options regarding the Scripps administrative assistants and neither are good: 1) They are ignorant that BX/BS, on of the largest insurance companies, doesn't cover preventative telehealth and therefore don't inform their patients out of ignorance. That's unacceptable. It's their job to know this and tell their patients. Or, 2) They do know that BX/BS doesn't cover preventative telehealth and they purposefully don't tell patients. Neither option is good. Do better, Scripps! This is terrible customer services.

The office will try to get you to switch to some of their less experienced or less positive reviewed Dr's. I asked when he decided no to take on new patients all they would say is, "Awhile " no date given. I choose him via my insurance, I did not need to see a doctor at the time I chose him. I recently tried to make an appointment and was told he was not accepting new patients, I explained I was not new that I just haven't had to see a doctor till now, their response, they could put me in with another Dr. that's it. The feeling of "Bait & Switch" to fill the practice came to mind. You have the right not to take on new patients but you have the responsibility to take yourself of the available Dr's list.

Her diagnostics and treatments are always correct. My parents have her as their family doctor for many years and nothing but excellent experience all these years. I had a truly terrible experience with this doctor. He was condescending and dismissive about many…read moreof my concerns, including with respect to conditions for which I have received a prior diagnosis. He routinely failed to have my Rx's filled unless I followed up with him multiple times - I've never had this issue with a doctor. On one occasion, his failure to timely call-in my Rx resulted in my having to wait 45 days to have it refilled due to a nationwide shortage (the pharmacy confirmed that had he called it in on-time, I would have had no issue). The last straw occurred most recently, in which it took 7 days after an appointment for him to call in the Rx for a medicine (for which lack of access could be life-threatening), despite following up with his office 3 times and them failing to call me back after saying they would. It wasn't until I stopped by in person that he finally filled the Rx. This office was an absolute nightmare.
