We walked into the lobby around 6:00 p.m. and stood there for quite a while because the front desk was completely unattended. Eventually, a staff member walked out, seemingly unable to read the room. She stared at us with a glazed-over expression and an odd smile. She asked what was wrong, and I explained that my daughter had injured her hand and needed an X-ray. She responded, verbatim: "He's busy right now but will be out soon." Who is "he"? A doctor? A provider? We had no idea. She then disappeared into the back without having us check in, collect our information, or fill out any paperwork, leaving us standing alone in the empty lobby. After waiting even longer, I called the front desk from my phone, hoping it would prompt someone to come out. The phone rang twice with no answer. I called again, and the same employee answered with, "Hi, how may I help you?" I said, "I'm standing in the lobby. Is anyone going to help us?" There wasn't a single other patient in the waiting room. She finally came back out and asked what insurance we had--which they accepted--but continued moving at an incredibly slow pace. At that point, I asked, "Can you tell me where there's a real urgent care?" We left and went to Scripps instead, where my daughter received prompt, professional care. This was one of the most bizarre and frustrating healthcare experiences I've ever had. If your child has an urgent injury, I would not recommend coming here. Definitely a scam!

I have been limping and fighting through my runs so I decided I have to get this fixed. I called Medhero and they got me in same day was only there about an hour got the steroid needle in my foot in and out. Everyone was so nice and professional and super user friendly. OVER BILLING: Kara their billing coordinator will not take responsibility for billing issues and…read morehas alienated me over $50 because she won't fix their issue with Aetna. Aetna pays NCFMG over $500/visit and each visit I paid my PCP copay of $20. Yet the billing went through as if I saw a specialist ($45 copay) and I only saw a PA, plus North Coast doesn't have specialist they only do Primary Care. This was all because the doctors were listed incorrectly on the bill sent to Aetna. So I called Kara a few times, and I called Aetna a few times and then I put them on a conference call together, and then I followed up with Aetna several times to make sure they were fixing the issue. So after about 4 hours of my time and Kara blaming Aenta and Aetna blaming her I had to give up. And I had a final call with Kara and said there is no way I am paying the $50 because this was billed wrong, just on principal I can't and won't pay it. I can't believe I am ending a 10 year relationship with NCFMG who gets paid $500+ every time I visit over $50 I was wrongly charged for, that is brilliant customer service and a fantastic business model. Note for NCFMG if you even read these reviews: PA Noel and PA Morrison are setup incorrectly with Aetna. They had 2 profiles, one with UCSD and one without. Aetna billing uses the one without which makes them unrecognized so they bill as a specialist. So why don't you call Aetna and fix it before you have more patients leave you over erroneous billing.

In the past it would take me months to see my PCP. This was a big improvement. Everything, from lab work requests to accessing clinical notes and instructions is automated in their system, so there's no hassle. On the day of my appointment, I was pleased to find plenty of parking, even on a busy weekday afternoon, which is always a plus. The clinic looks amazing and they've clearly made major renovations. The space is bright, modern, open, and spotless, with an inviting atmosphere. The staff were professional, warm, and attentive. From the receptionists to the medical assistants, everyone made me feel welcomed. During my appointment, Dr. Kakimoto addressed all of my questions and concerns with patience and detail. Even though the visit lasted only about 30 minutes, I left feeling reassured, informed, and optimistic about my health. I also love the reminder texts and emails! I didn't want to wait and schedule something with my primary in Carmel Valley so knowing I could not last another night without something to help me sleep, I came in here an hour before closing. I saw Dr. Wakefield within 20 minutes of arriving and he confirmed I had bronchitis and gave me the necessary meds to allow me to sleep easier at night and get through the day. Also put me on antibiotics to kick the bug out of my system. I felt so much better within a few days. I wish I had gone in sooner. I think for me, I was suffering more from lack of sleep than anything so that extra strong cough suppressant at night allowed me to get much needed to rest for me to get through the day with a little one. Service was expeditious and thorough. They didn't take my Scripps insurance but it was worth the money I had to pay out of pocket.

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience here. First of all, the entire process took…read moreabout two hours just to complete what should have been a straightforward blood draw. I want to emphasize that I have never had difficulty having my blood drawn before. I have never been told that my veins were difficult to find, and blood draws have always been quick and straightforward for me. Despite that, I was stuck a total of five times in five different locations. The first attempt produced no blood, the second produced only a very small amount, and there were additional unsuccessful attempts where they could not get an adequate blood sample. During one of the attempts, a significant amount of blood came out around the needle and I heard an unusual air/hissing sound, at which point I became uncomfortable and asked the staff member to remove the needle immediately. Eventually, the provider who had prepared my lab order came into the room and told me not to worry because he had previously been a paramedic and knew how to draw blood. He attempted the blood draw as well, but again only a small amount was collected and it was not enough to fill the tube. At one point, he suggested possibly combining blood from a previously collected tube because there was more blood in it, and the staff member immediately responded that they were not allowed to do that. After multiple attempts, they eventually managed to collect my samples. My friend was also there to have blood drawn. After finishing with me, they attempted to draw her blood and were unsuccessful with her as well. At that point, after everything we had already experienced and nearly two hours there, we decided to leave without completing her blood draw. I completely understand that an unsuccessful blood draw can occasionally happen. However, considering that I have never had any difficulty with blood draws in the past, being stuck five times in multiple locations, the amount of time the process took, what happened during the attempts, and then watching them struggle to draw my friend's blood as well made the overall experience extremely uncomfortable and concerning. Unfortunately, I would not return here for blood work.
