Went in on a whim to have a consultation on my naturally curly, over treated hair. Han knew exactly what to do. He mixed a "chemical cocktail" of hair moisturizing lotion. Applied it to my dry hair and had me come in the next day for a cut. His haircutting technique is very different than what I've had in the past. The end result was awesome, I almost fainted when 3 inches of hair fell in my lap, but the end result was shorter, healthier, bouncier hair and I'm very pleased. I will be back! read more

Very friendly local salon. Located on the 2nd floor of a small strip mall. Run by a husband and wife team that's been in the location for 13 years. I was able to call the day of and come in for a haircut. It was definitely a different experience. It's definitely a more home-y experience. Nothing fancy with the booths or the washing stations but what they don't have in ambiance they make up for in the actual experience. Han took his time cutting my hair and had suggestions on how it should be cut which I appreciated. It seems like a lot of locals/repeat customers come here and they know everyone by name. It was a little pricey than I was expecting. For a woman's cut it's pretty close to the price of really higher end places. But happy to support a local place! read more

Amazing customer service. Called on Sunday 3pm for a last minute walk in for a possible color job, no one answered so I hung up. Within 30 minutes I got a call back and spoke to Hann who said they had time. So I get there at 4pm and tell him what I have in mind - surprise! Going from natural black to blue and purple. The salon closes at 6pm but he says it's a minimum 4 hour job, do I have time? I say, yes, if you do! So we start it off and Hann helps me decide which colors look better on my Asian skin and how to style it so it's more low maintenance for my lazy bum. I had Hann AND Nimol both working on my hair (feeling like a celebrity!), Hann let me borrow his phone charger when my phone was on low battery, I was given some snacks while waiting, and to top it off they worked from 4pm-9pm. THREE hours past their closing time just for me, a last minute walk in. All for $100. The color turned out great and I can't wait to see what our next project will look like!! read more

I needed to get a haircut in the Scripps Ranch area and read good reviews about this Salon, specifically about the (owner) stylist Han. On a whim I called up and was seen by Han, he was fantastic. I have thick, very long hair and he gave my hair a beautiful healthy cut. Most stylists will pull out the thinning shears, but Han gave me a really healthy cut, no thinning shears and it is exactly what I wanted. Han and NImol's salon is back and open for hair and nails. It is a great place to come. I have come back 2-3X since they opened from the COVID-19 close down and it is completely Safe! They follow all the medical and state laws to ensure client safety. Facial masks, wipes down, social distancing. They manage the client schedules to ensure safe social distancing! I went here out of desperation because the other salons I called could not accommodate me for a last minute haircut. This salon was the only one that could take me. The good: I had a migraine prior to coming to my appointment. When the hairdresser, I believe people here on Yelp refer to him as Hann, shampooed my hair, he gave my head a good massage. It was super relaxing. After my shampoo, my headache disappeared! I would come back just to get a shampoo from this guy. The bad: The experience went downhill from there. Hann is very unconventional...and by that, I mean he does things very differently from other hairdressers. For lack of a better way to describe it, he was 'such a man' about it. Female hairdressers usually care about water dripping on your face (since they know you have makeup) or the heat of the blow dryer, etc. With Hann, water was dripping from my hair all over my face and body. When he dried my hair, he flipped it all over my face. When he was shampooing me, his hands were all over my face. He was also a little slower with his work that what I am accustomed to. One reason may be because he overworks himself. While working on me, he was also working on another lady's hair color and was answering phone calls. The ugly: My haircut demands are pretty simple. I just want a layered cut that frames my face (because, although my haircut can't hide the fact that I'm overweight, it does make me look better in photos). I also like side bangs. Unfortunately, he gave me weird bangs and, although my hair feels nice, it did not frame my face. I had an event that night and I can see from the photos that the haircut actually accentuated my chubby face. I have to wait for my hair to grow before I can ask another salon to fix it:( I don't think $45 is a bad price these days for a haircut...but I felt bad I spent that much and didn't like how I looked. Why the 4 stars then? 1. I should have brought a picture since I'm going to a new person/salon...this would have prevented any miscommunication. 2. People on Yelp seem to love his work with hair color. Perhaps that's more his specialty. I don't want to tank their Yelp scores if the only service I've tried is a haircut, I am also a sucker for hardworking small business owners. This is a family run business and they seem like really nice people. They are not out to trick anyone. Hann, don't overbook yourself! I know you'll take in more business by overbooking but you may end up doing average work rather than excellent work. I would love to come back for their other services...but not a haircut. I was recently contacted by the owners of this place based on my previous review telling me to come in for a refund. I was not going to return here but then my husband wanted a hair cut and he likes it from Huah. So I came back and instead of asking for a refund I asked for a redo of my nails. I know it was AGES ago since I complained but they remembered me and did the mani pedi complimentary. I found their customer service to be wonderful. The job is just OK, the manicure has lasted a full 4 days already. I would say the job is not as "precise" as other nail services establishments but at least they vastly improved on their customer service so I'm happy about that. I want to thank them for that. I called for a last minute hair appointment for layers for my long, curly brown hair to my waist and I would have understood if they couldn't fit me in, but they accommodated me within 15 minutes of my phone call. Han went above and beyond explaining what kind of cut he suggested for my hair and why he suggested it. My hair feels so much lighter and he is clearly meticulous and cares about his work because I've never had anyone separate my hair into so many sections, which showed to me that he was taking his time to make sure his work is impeccable, and it is.
