I cannot recommend Haru Head Spa enough! They put so much care into every service. It's such a relaxing experience and I felt like I was going to fall asleep multiple times throughout. Such a great spot for a date with your girlfriends too!

Ray was incredible--kind, knowledgeable, and so welcoming. She walked me through the entire process, even showing me images of my scalp and explaining exactly what was going on, which I really appreciated. The scalp massage combined with the hands, shoulders, and hot stone treatment was beyond relaxing--I nearly fell asleep. By the end, my scalp felt so clean and my hair looked and felt amazing. She also gave helpful recommendations for at-home care and suggested quarterly visits. I'm already looking forward to going back. Highly recommend!

I will begin with the cost...it is OVERPRICED! They are the monopoly in town and they know it. You can get the same treatment in LA for half the cost. The hair washing chair is not designed for folks with back problems. There are ways around it but you won't get the full massage experience. Only reasons I didn't give 5 stars. HOWEVER, the experience is AMAZING! The staff is genuinely friendly and dedicated to your experience being spectacular! The water is warm, the ambiance is quiet and soothing. They dry your hair only; no styling but they have 2 vanity stations where you can bring your own supplies and dryer to style your hair. I've gone twice now and had wonderful experiences. Save your money and book an appointment, you won't be sorry.

That's me on the right and my friend on the left.

My daughter got me a gift certificate here for my birthday. Booked a 90 minute appt and used an Instagram referral and received $50 off. Without it, a 90 minute massage would have been $250. Came here with a couple of my friends. Our appt was at 10 am. There were plenty of parking spots. But after our appt was done, the parking was full and cars waiting for people to leave. They start you out by giving you a towel to wrap around your upper body and a robe. They give you a basket to put your stuff in that you bring with you every where you go. Then they take you to a chair where they take a picture of your scalp. Then you go to a massage bed that is on the whole time you are getting your scalp massage. The massage was very good. I had Czarina and she was excellent. Her massages were the right pressure. She also gave me a mini facial and neck and arm massage. After that was over, they take you back to the same chair you were in initially and they do more scalp massage. They also offer you tea or champagne after. Overall it was an excellent experience. One star less because of the price.

Cutest little snacks and teas and these little knitted inspirational cuties!

Really enjoyed this! Just accept it's costly or don't do it. It's second floor back entrance. No problem parking in their lot but we went in the AM. At 1 PM there was no parking in the lot so be aware of that. The women that work there are great. Very warm and personable and skillful. In addition to all the amazing scalp treatments in a massage chair, you also get neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage and a mini facial. Skin looked amazing after and being a Korean spa, one of the components in the facial was snail slime, for lack of a better word. Worked great! Calm soothing atmosphere. They show you before and after photos of your scalp. Dry your hair but no styling. Lovely exotic Korean floral tea or champagne is offered. Take the tea! It's amazing. I couldn't believe how fast 90 minutes went. The only thing I wish was if when you book as a first time person, they gave you a clue what to expect and honestly when you should wash your hair before you go. My therapist was just wonderful and there was absolutely no sell hype. I will definitely return as this is a unique experience and it was fairly easy to book.

I visited Haru Head Spa because my skin had been feeling dry and dull, and I received a skincare treatment from Cristy. From the very beginning, she greeted me warmly and carefully examined my skin condition, which made me feel confident and comfortable. Since it was my first time receiving this type of treatment, I had many questions, and Cristy explained everything in a very professional and easy-to-understand way. She was always kind, patient, and welcoming, which made the entire experience very relaxing. After the treatment, she also gave me detailed instructions on how to take care of my skin. After the session, I received many compliments saying my skin looked healthier and more radiant. It genuinely felt like my skin was glowing and well-balanced. I was extremely satisfied with the results and will definitely come back to receive treatment from Cristy again. She is truly professional and kind--I couldn't be happier with the experience!

This was my first experience at a head spa and thought it was a perfect opportunity to treat myself. They are located in a shopping plaza on Mercury and at least there is a parking lot, however that area can get really crowded. They are on the second level and you kind of have to walk around the corner to get to the front door. Inside it is a nice spa environment with cute neon signs, foliage and waiting area. It actually was a little smaller than I imagined and could get quite loud if you have lots of people talking and/or blow drying hair, perhaps a wall between the front and back areas would be nice. Especially since the back area contains the massage/treatment beds. I came in for the K-Dream treatment and the service experience from beginning to end was great - they explained everything rather thoroughly. The whole process was super interesting to me, especially when they did the microscopic scalp screening where they show you "problem areas". I definitely felt pampered by the scalp treatment, massages and facial. There were so many that I couldn't count and probably because I was so relaxed. Another plus was the treatment bed gave you a full body massage. Lastly, they do an "after" scalp screening and you can see the difference! Another nice touch was the Korean flower tea. While they do blow dry your hair after, they really only do the scalp area and not the rest. I wish they were able to blow dry all the hair since it can be uncomfortable and cold walking around with mostly wet hair. To conclude, I also waited a week to write this review so I could include my observations during that time. My scalp actually feels cleaner, less itchy and no dandruff. I guess I will have to see about the hair growth but overall it was a pleasant experience and would probably return.

Such a fun and relaxing experience! I've never done anything quite like this before so I wasn't totally sure what to expect. It was much more of a full massage than I was expecting which was an awesome surprise. The massage chairs are excellent and nothing feels better than a head/hair massage and scrub. The before and after photos of my scalp were also eye opening! Would love to try this again for another special occasion!

What should you wear to your appointment? Or does that even matter?

Would you recommend arriving to an appointment with freshly washed clean hair to see how much improvements the service does or should I save my time & go in when I'm needing my weekly wash?

My opinion, Id go in with at least 2 day old unwashed hair. I think you'll benefit from it more, and get the full experience!

They put us in a room together which we didn't ask for, like a couples massage, they just assumed. I asked for the masseuse to be more gentle when she started and I'm not sure if she understood me well because she wasn't that gentle. The worst part was the hot stones. They were too hot for the masseuse the handle but they tried to put them on us anyway. We had to have them remove it on our bill because they were too hot to put them on anybody or anything! They even left burn marks on my back. The spa is also covered in dust, the fish tank is disgustingly filthy, and had a musty smell in the rooms. They also refused to give a refund for the horrible service that was provided. The owner and employees will not take responsibility for their actions and inactions (see the owners response below). I have also updated my pictures with timestamps of the burn in question. I still have the mark 2 weeks later and it didn't show up right away, before we left the spa. I am also not from California nor do I live there to have the time to go back. I would never recommend this place.

While I appreciate the management's attempt to rectify some issues, the current quality simply does not match the premium price point. My friend and I booked our treatments at specific times online to maximize our time together, only to be told days later that the times were unavailable. In trying to resolve this, I discovered the spa had also changed my friend's appointments without notifying her. It took a 45-minute phone call and multiple follow-ups before a director finally stepped in to provide a day pass and an acoustic vibration meditation session to make amends. While I was grateful for the gesture, the meditation beds were unfortunately quite uncomfortable and didn't live up to the "state-of-the-art" description. For a spa that charges $200+ just for facility access, the upkeep was surprisingly poor. There were used towels strewn about the common areas, overflowing trash in the bathrooms, and when trying to locate an unused locker, myself and the staff member assisting me had to open several before finding a robe. The steam room was barely functioning with minimal to no steam produced. A large group of women in the solarium was incredibly loud (screaming and laughing) for a long period. While I'm glad they were enjoying themselves, multiple staff members walked by and never once stepped in to maintain the quiet, relaxing environment guests expect. While not part of the spa itself, the poolside service was notably slow; my friend waited an hour for her food and had to rush through it before her treatment. We were served without utensils and had to wait several more minutes for a server to return. I have long considered this one of the top two spas in San Diego, but after this experience, the value is no longer there. Management's effort to make it right was appreciated, but a luxury spa shouldn't require that much effort from the guest just to have a basic, clean, and coordinated experience. I'll be enjoying the other local luxury spa options moving forward.

But when a special occasion arose with a group of girlfriends, I resigned myself and just handed over my credit card. Kyoko, the main spa attendant, greeted us warmly and showed us around. She was a friendly and helpful presence throughout our visit. I got the 60 minute relaxation massage, and it was worth every penny. My masseuse, Jasmine, was excellent, from the moment she greeted me to when the message was over and she bid me farewell with a tiny cup of their fresh-squeezed orange elixir and a warm towel. Speaking of towels, so many towels everywhere--all cloth. Nary a paper towel to be seen, even in the bathrooms. Their robes were fluffy and luxurious, and the slide sandals were nice quality, no cheap flip flops here. On our visit there weren't that many other guests (we did get there later in the day), so it felt very tranquil and private. We availed ourselves to the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool before and after our treatments, and hung out in the well-appointed ladies lounge with some of the available snacks: almonds, dried apricots, and housemate oat bars that were really yummy. It was a rare treat for me and I enjoyed every minute! Don't forget to get your valet parking validated before you go.

I will start with my pros, then cons. Pros: 1. Their Froze was delicious and refreshing. A nice treat for a warm day! 2. The landscaping and grounds themselves were really pretty. 3. The massage I had was nice. Was it the best massage I've had? No, but I was relaxed and I can't complain about it overall. Cons: 1. SERVICE AND FRIENDLINESS. From the start, the vibes were just off. The demeanor of pretty much all the staff was prickly, to say the least. We were celebrating my birthday, so my mom brought a small box of five cupcakes for us to celebrate my day. She had called ahead and was told this would be fine. However, she was told they do not allow any outside food and drink despite her calling previously. So, they took them and we had to collect them when we left. Fine, no big deal if that's their policy. They should make sure everyone is aligned on that fact though. Then, we asked if it would be possible to shift an umbrella so all of us could have some shade (it was sunny and hot and we are fair skinned). We were told we are absolutely not allowed to move any umbrellas or chairs whatsoever. Again, we are paying close to 1,000 for our day and we can't even shift an umbrella to make everyone comfortable? Wild! Overall there were several small instances of this nature where the staff wasn't very accommodating or friendly. 2. Facilities. WAY too small for the amount of people they book for services. The locker room is incredibly tiny and not large enough for everyone to comfortably change. There are only two women's bathrooms and they are located in the spa locker room. Not close to the pool and there were lines for the bathrooms at multiple times. Overall some of the facilities were a bit run down and cramped. In my opinion, if you're considering a spa day, go to Rancho Valencia. You'll get your money's worth there. Friendlier staff, nicer facilities, better food, and an overall better experience. Will not be booking again at RB Inn.

They had mini spa services, sound bath, wine, desserts, and mini burritos. I ate some brownies and cake pops! There was a raffle as well. Everyone had so much great stuff I wanted to buy, but I was limited to only getting a few things At least there was samples! The place was so cute and relaxing. Everyone was so welcoming! We were able to snag the last massages of the night. We didn't know we were supposed to book ahead, but we at least got in one service. I also did ear seeding for my lower back, hips, sciatica, and piriformis muscle. I also got chocolate samples, some had mushrooms in them. I also got a sample of red light therapy, which was relaxing, but the wine didn't mix well with it because I got a little nauseous afterwards. Overall this was a great event and I look forward to coming again to their next event!
