Amazing body scrub by aunties (completely nude)!! Highly recommend!!! This is my second time here recently, first was when they first open (not as awkward second time around ). Now, they do offer private massages for those who are uncomfortable being in the nude. I opted for the body scrub & massage afterwards. You can enjoy the dry or wet sauna, hot tub or cold plunge before they call you in & afterwards. Just remember to shower first before taking a dip in the hot tub. But if you're comfortable enough in your own skin & don't mind being naked around other women, go for it! Note: If "Aunt Flo" happens to arrive, you don't need to cancel your appointment. First time ever getting a body scrub. The staff were friendly and customer service was okay. They told me that the jacuzzi was out of service but can give me a $10 discount. I appreciate that but a notice, email , or text or call would have been better. Or an option to reschedule so I can use all of the amenities. Shaving cream, razors, toothbrush and toothpaste, q-tips, lotion, combs available. There's a dry sauna, wet sauna, cold water overhead shower, hot tub and cold plunge. I celebrated my friend's birthday here and for my first time at a spa I throughly enjoyed my experience. When we arrived we were checked in given a basket with our uniform, a small towel and big towel along with a number wristband and key. We got a tour and a quick explanation of everything. The common area has a seating lounge with some drinks (water & tea) and quick snacks (fruit, crackers & candies). It's also where you wait for your number to be called for your massage. There's an a cubby area for your shoes and then the women's locker which leads to the showers, hot & cold tub and dry & steam sauna and scrub room. Near the common area are the co-ed salt, clay and ice room. The rooms are relatively small so it would definitely get crowded on busy days. According to the receptionist Fridays and Saturday's are the busiest days. My massage therapist was Chloe. I got a deep tissue oil massage and I asked for medium pressure. This place is great if you purchase the services because the entry is included! If you're from LA or OC, this does not compare to the Korean Spas from OC/LA , as this one is very small in comparison and does not offer as much in the jjimjilbang (only 1 salt room, 1 clay room, 1 cold room). $50 for entry fee for 3 hours Upon arrival, we made appointments for the body scrub and oil massage to treat my mom and ourselves for my mom's birthday. They give you your 2 towels (1 small for sweating and 1 larger one for showers) along with your uniform in the basket and the wristband with lock to your locker. The common room (both genders) had free various snacks/fruit as well as hot barley tea and lemon water for refreshments, probably to make up for the lack of food court. I'm happy they offered it. The common room also had couches to rest for their guests. Personally, I like to check out the jjimjilbang first and then use the only female hot sauna/steam room and hot tub and then enjoy my service. Some do it the other way around though, just based on preference! I rated it 4 due to cleanliness as there was just a little spots in the bathroom that needed more deep cleaning, other than that they did a great job at cleaning the baskets and trash! I mainly came for the body scrub& oil massage (60mins) which offers a hair wash and collagen facial and cleansing milk. Hanna worked on me and she did amazing!!! They basically flip you over on a massage table like a baby seal and scrub every inch of your body, then they massage you with oil. After the body scrub my body was as soft as a baby's butt HAHA. So smooth and the cleansing milk really rejuvenated my skin and made it feel plump. My facial was so relaxing as well and I love when people play/ wash my hair. I'm pretty used to be nude around my mom and sisters so it's not out of my comfort zone to walk around naked in the female section. I feel like Yu Spa is a great first time Korean spa, for those who want to embrace this relaxing experience. But l was more-so anxious about being fully nude in the gender separated areas (male/female spa & locker sections) which is their requirement. Staff & front desk was professional, friendly and informative. Any and all questions were answered without judgement which I appreciated a lot considering I was very skeptical and nervous. Cleanliness of the facilities looked standard and nothing felt out of the ordinary. I constantly saw staff clearing out laundry baskets and cleaning the bathrooms probably every 20 mins or so. Locker rooms felt clean as well as showers. The women's hot sauna, jacuzzi and cold plunge felt very clean. Gender neutral areas were upkept well and provided some snacks and few beverage options. Luckily it was not very busy when I went around 3 pm on a weekday. And prices felt very decent and fair. I went back today for the second time. I decided to book a 10 am appointment on a Friday. There was maybe 6- 8 people there which was perfect! Not crowded! I booked a salt scrub which is good for inflammation.. My masseuse Kay was EXCELLENT! I was recently in a car accident and she focused on massaging my lower back with the oil. I really felt good when she was done. After the scrub and massage I went and changed into the spa clothes and went and sat in the dry sauna for 30 minutes and followed that with sitting in the ice room for a few minutes. The ice room was shut down nearly an hour before closing, and the loud crashing of melting ice further disrupted the environment. The snacks were low quality and barely any options (cheap candies and chocolate/ really?) The atmosphere was excessively loud than even a busy café, despite posted signage requesting quiet. Staff failed to enforce their own policies. Several men were openly FaceTiming LOUDLY IN THE SAUNA ROOMS, raising concerns about privacy, decorum, and potential safety in a high-heat setting. If you want to get a massage, be ware that they count 10 minutes of preparation with your massage time. Ridiculous. What a ripped off and a joke. Overall, the experience falls well below the reasonable expectations of a spa and does not deliver value commensurate with its cost. read more

Where to start with this place.... I've always heard of the Korean spa, but been hesitant to go solely because I wasn't sure how I would feel being in a spa completely nude. I must say that I'm in awe from my first experience and wish I have gone sooner! This place is awesome and felt natural. Staff was extremely friendly and the place is well kept and clean from the moment you walk in, to the locker rooms and spa area. I opted for the private room deep tissue oil massage and my friend got the body scrub + massage. These massages include admission to the spa where you have access to hot/cold tub, steam room/sauna and the additional rooms as well (see pictures). Also, shoutout to my masseuse Nicole who did a phenomenal job with my deep tissue. Unfortunately, it has steadily gone downhill from the date, the first opened years ago. It cost $50 to have access to the Jimjilbang (meaning the common shared areas that offer a lounge with light snacks, ice room, clay room, and hot room) and also the separated mens/womens section that has the jacuzzi, dry and steam saunas). I would only consider coming here if I were to get one of their services, such as their wet scrubs because then I get free access to the Jimjilbang. I just can't fathom paying $50 for a few hours of being in a Jacuzzi, clay room or the common areas as it is just not worth it. The Jacuzzi isn't always as hot as it should be, the men's section, including showers, sauna, and Jacuzzi's aren't cleaners they should be, their water pressure is low... And overall, it is just not what it used to be when they first opened, but I guess that was quite a few years ago. I almost rather not go and wait till I go to a Korean Spa in Los Angeles or another big major city that is worth the price and they provide you better service and amenities. read more

Not the best Kspa out there, at least compared to the ones in Los Angeles, which has a lot of Kspas. Yu Spa is on the smaller side and not as many rooms in the co-ed area. The bathing area has just one hot tub, a cold pool, a steam sauna and a dry sauna. Most Kspas I've been to have more than one hot tub, so definitely on the smaller side. The steam and sauna rooms were great though. And yes you have to be full on nude in this area. As for the co-ed area, there's a cold room, the salt room and a clay room. None got particularly hot like I'm more accustomed to seeing at other Kspas so I thought it was a bit lacking here as well. This is the area where you must wear the uniform. You're also limited to 3 hours with general admission and there's no cafeteria. But that's probably because it's a bit too small to hang out at all day. They do provide free snacks which is nice. I think it's probably to make up for the lack of a cafeteria. I do prefer this over Wispa because it is less crowded and because of that, it is a bit more peaceful and cleaner. I did feel relaxed by the end of the three hours, but it did feel a tad bit short for a fully relaxing experience. With more amenities and rooms, it would be more enjoyable for sure. I appreciate the atmosphere and cleanliness though! The Riviera in Torrance is a better option if you're in the South Bay Area of Los Angeles and probably the best Kspa I've been to so far. read more

Yu Spa in San Diego was overall a five out of five for me, but there are definitely a few things to be aware of before going. The entry fee is $50, which I think is just not reasonable and actually the highest I have seen for a Korean spa. On the positive side, they did allow me to stay longer than the usual three hours, and I was able to upgrade to a massage without having to pay a separate massage fee on top of entry, which was a nice surprise since I came for my birthday. I'm from LA and in comparison to spas there, I would say Yu Spa is pretty good for San Diego standards. The amenities were clean, the people were friendly, and the crowd was great with a lot of gay men, so it had a welcoming and open vibe. That said, there were things I didn't like. The facility itself is small, much smaller than what I'm used to in LA, and the common area felt cramped. They did have snacks, which I actually loved because when you're doing hydrotherapy you do get hungry, and that left a nice impression since they don't have a restaurant on site. The massage I got was a deep tissue, but it wasn't great. The therapist wasn't consistent, spending longer on one side of my body than the other, and it just didn't feel like what I was looking for. I've had better massages, so I didn't feel right tipping in that situation. Still, the fact that they were flexible with the entry upgrade, kept the space clean, and had a good crowd made it a memorable visit despite the price and size issues. read more

I was treated to a Swedish Massage of which I was marinated in oil, tenderized by an expert while being flipped on both sides in my birthday suit. I was rejuvenated. They got this common area in the middle where you can relax in peace along with some provided snacks and drink. The place is built like a Japanese bathhouse where baths are separated along with their own respective saunas, jacuzzis, showers, and more. What I really loved was the steam sauna in the mens side of the building. I lost track of time because of how immersed I was here. Definitely coming back for more. The only thing I would gripe about is the lack of anti slip mats in the bathside sauna and shower areas to prevent slipping so be careful and the spa's lack of plus size clothing material so if you're in the 4xl or more range then you'll have to bring your own clothes to chill in. read more

The spa features both wet and dry saunas located in gendered restrooms, where you have to be nude (no underwear or swimsuits). There's also an area for you to shower and do your makeup after using their spa facilities. A salt and clay sauna is available in the common area for everyone to enjoy. You are given a uniform to wear in this space. I didn't notice much difference between the common area sauna and the gender-specific ones, except for a cooler temperature and different decor themes. I had a couples massage and was pleasantly surprised by how strong the masseuse, Joanna, was. She took her time working out all my knots, which was great. I also got the facial add on, which included a quick face massage and a sheet mask. I'm not sure if it made much of a difference because my face broke out after sweating while relaxing in the various saunas. Don't forget to bring cash to tip for extra services when you check out! Some of the guests were yelling and gossiping with each other, which disrupted the atmosphere, but they quieted down a bit when the staff approached them. I'm very pleased with the cleanliness in the common area and dry spas too. The wet spa has a hot tub. Cold tub. Steam sauna and dry sauna. Absolutely relaxing and you can use any of them. The dry spa is co-gender, they have a salt sauna, a mud sauna, and a cold dry sauna. These areas are super relaxing too!! The common room is big and spacious with the perfect mood lighting, snacks and drinks to enjoy your stay with! The actual appointment was AMAZING. Let me just say it's well worth the money and more. A traditional Korean body scrub was much needed for my skin. I left feeling a brand new layer! The oil and massage was so perfect too. The masseuses were literally rubbing their forearms on use the entire time with no techniques whatsoever. They didn't even ask which parts we wanted to emphasize on. My masseuse's finger nails were stratching on my neck. We paid for hotstones but didn't receive that service so I talked to the receptionists and one of them was so not nice. They did offer a refund for it but overall $200/person is extremely unworthy. I have never been to a massage place that is this unprofessional and offered 0 relaxation. read more

You're provided a locker, a small and medium sized towel, and an outfit. We enjoyed the hot and cold tubs. No swimwear is allowed, only the towels in the gender divided areas, separated as mens and women's. In the shared spaces - the uniform is mandatory. It felt safe and clean and staff are regularly walking through keeping an eye on things. The sauna in the womens side is a a lovely 160° and the cold plunge was my favorite. For the hot and cold tub however- if you're sensitive to chlorine beware. It was very strong and the water is murky. The spa and jjimjilbang package costs a bit more than I expected at $50/pp for 3 hours. The spa is small with only one medium sized hot tub and smaller cold tub. There are wet and dry saunas in the bath area, which were appreciated. The locker area and shower/bath areas are kept clean. The jjimjilbang portion was also pretty small with only three rooms (cold, clay, salt rooms). I do really appreciate that they do reservations for entry, because it wasn't crowded and for the most part very quiet and relaxing. I noticed that there were very few Korean patrons. I think that probably has to do with how much they've catered the experience to a non-Korean audience. There were so many people wearing their shoes into the locker rooms (pretty unsanitary) despite there clearly being a shoe cubby area. I even saw someone wearing a bathing suit get into the tubs, and the staff saw but just ignored them. I understand that it's a hard thing for the business to enforce, because some people can be indignant and difficult, but I do wish I saw the rules being followed more closely.
