I get that most minimum wage workers aren't going to be super happy but maybe pay your employees a little more to retain them and set expectations to deliver a good customer service experience. Most people don't need their arse kissed but hope for a pleasant exchange while paying for their food. Reading the reviews here, it seems like terrible service from employees is an on going issue. It reminded us of that episode of Dexter where he's helping a friend who is dying and she wants to find the best key lime pie. That was kind of the energy we had going into it, just looking for the experience. I also picked up some white chocolate covered cherries but we haven't gotten to those yet. With drink orders out of the way, Deja, our absolutely delightful waitress, took our food orders: sauteed seafood combo (for my wife), backyard BBQ burger with coleslaw (for me), burger and fries (for my BFF and his wife, who -unlike us- were smart enough to save room for dessert). While waiting for our meals, we took in the ambiance of the restaurant, and wow was there a lot to take in! First off, we loved how the old Pizza Hut building had been repurposed and transformed into the embodiment of the tropical island lifestyle. From the display tables showcasing seashells and historic Florida Keys photos, to the license plate light fixtures, to the ceiling-mounted blue sky and clouds panels, to the fish hanging in front of each distinctively Pizza Hut trapezoidal window, we loved it all! When our food arrived, it looked fantastic and tasted even better. My wife described her seafood combo as being excellent, with the Caribbean lobster "almost as good as the ones we get in Maine." To round out our meal, each of the four of us ordered pieces of Key Lime Pie, which was some of the best I have ever had in my life (and I have eaten a lot of Key Lime Pies!)! I think what I found most annoying was watching our server and another server standing around while we were waiting for drinks, for order taking, for refills, etc. There was just no attention being paid to us.
