I go to their Southington location for about 3 years now. It is always hard to find a good barber and lucky to find Josh. He is really good at what he does and make you feel comfortable. He takes his time on your haircut and you don't feel rushed. His personality is great and makes sure you look your best once you walk out of there. Booking an appointment is always fast and easy. Also everyone there is friendly. Once you become a regular the front start to remember your name. I also like that the sit down time is not too long. They are normally on time for your appointment for a few minutes behind. Sorry Sculptures but the continuing feeling I get when coming to or speaking with staff at your salon has finally peaked to a level I will not tolerate. Please do better so not just people with young long blond hair are valued. Or if that is your "thing", then advertise as such. I am truly disappointed in how I was treated when you "yet again" had to cancel and reschedule my appointment. Except you make no effort to get me an appointment that works for me. I came in to Sculptures as a member of a bridal party for airbrush make up and n updo. My first impression of Sculptures salon was that it was absolutely fabulous. Beautiful bright waiting area, a great selection of makeup, very friendly and cheerful employees busily helping customers. And while my experience in the salon was good, I was not satisfied with the final product after we left. For make up, Tracy did a great job matching the airbrush to my skin tone and not making me look one-dimensional. I did not love my eye make up, which was much darker and smokier than the inspiration picture I had shown her. It did not look bad, but was very different from my normal makeup and much heavier than everyone else's make up as well. I should have said something, but we were crunched for time and I did not want to be the diva bridesmaid. For hair, Sarah was able to recreate the style I brought in very nicely. It looked great from all angles, but 20 minutes later, as I was walking from the car back to our hotel, a Bobby pin fell out. This has NEVER happened to me before, normally I'm digging out pins after the night is over. Other bridesmaids also had similar issues throughout the afternoon, and their pins were very visible despite matching them to their hair color. I ended up pulling the pins out at the table during the wedding and tying my hair back with a normal pony tail elastic, which is very frustrating considering the amount spent on my updo just hours earlier. read more

The disappointment is real. I went in last Saturday for a root touchup with Bill. When I got there I had to fill out a little form, not a big deal. Bill brought me to his station. I completed the form while he mixed the color. But he left me holding the clipboard and my purse the whole time he applied the color. The color application itself was very messy, he literally colored over one of my ears, got color all across my forehead and poked me in the eye leaving color on the outer corner. He also dropped some color on my arm and hand. When he was finished applying he did wipe some color off my eye corner and ear. He finally took the clipboard after but still left me holding my purse, his station was messy so nowhere to put in and the floor had hair and some color on it so that wasn't an option. When it came time to rinse, I got up and put my purse in my chair and followed to the hair washing station. It was kinda uncomfortable with my feet dangling in the partially laidback position, which another woman noticed, and brought the foot stool over for me to comfortably rest my feet on. Then when we went back to his station I had to put my purse back in my lap. Then he noticed he left shampoo in my hair even after conditioning. Back to the washing station, leaving my purse in the chair. I was asked if I wanted a blow dry. Well, yes! How else would I know if the color is good! It looks slightly different wet so I said yes. Bill seemed uncomfortable doing my hair. Like he didn't know how to blow dry. The lighting isn't so great at his station so I couldn't see all the left over hair dye yet! But I could immediately tell my hair was a frizzy mess. Turns out they charge extra for blow dry! Never heard of this, maybe they should warm new clients! I went to pay but he stayed up there so I didn't say anything. I went home to further investigate. Not only was I frizzy but there was so much hair dye on my ears, forehead and neck. Yet, somehow had gray hairs along my hairline! How with all that hair dry! I immediately called, it was maybe 10-15 min after I left. The woman who answered was nice and apologetic. She offered to come right back and fix but I had an appointment or I wouldn't have left unhappy in the first place. She said she would speak to the owner and they would get back to me. Its been a week and nothing. They clearly do not care about customer satisfaction, or quality work. I paid $95 to still have gray hair. Never again. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I had my hair done for senior prom by Oksana and she did a great job! My boyfriend loved it, I received tons of compliments and I was super happy with how much it looked like the photo I brought with me. The salon is huge and the staff is really friendly. I got my hair styled while part of a wedding party. The bride looked gorgeous, but the rest of us left feeling so-so (her beautiful hair would have been a 5, mine would have been a 1, hence the middle of the road rating). I have curly, but smooth-textured hair. I paid $60 for a blowout that was fuzzy at the top and ended up curling right up as we waited for the bride to get her hair done (it was not a humid day). The hairdresser made no attempt to fix it, but I didn't want to push the issue since it wasn't my day. One of the other bridesmaids had to redo my hair before the wedding. At my normal salon, $60 gets you a wash, haircut, and blowout that lasts all day. I was disappointed by the price and style. read more

Loooooooove this salon! I am very picky about my hair (as short as it is!). I went here on a recommendation and haven't looked back since! Even though it's a HUGE place, it is spotless, welcoming, and gorgeous! The staff are so sweet and professional. But the main reason I go there is for David. He is THE BEST!!!! He's not only a fabulous hair stylist, but he's funny, sweet, and an all-around great guy. I look forward to my next appointment before I leave his chair! Very disappointed with stylist Kaity Bennett. She Butchered my hair leaving large chunks on the floor. Yes Really, that is true!! Talk about shocking. Great place! This was my second time coming and am really glad I came back. The first time I had a color re-do and left satisfied but not wow'd. They listened to my concerns about my balayage being too blocky a transition from my dark to blonde color and did a good job blending it better. I came back today for a wash and cut and was very happy I did! I was with Katie (for first time) and she did a quick consultation, giving input about length for the upcoming summer months, cut off about 4 inches, styled and was done in about 40min. I'm really happy with my cut and feel like she understood exactly what I wanted. Will be back for sure. read more

She is a wonderful, talented stylist who listens to your needs but also takes in consideration your face shape, your everyday living and also what your style is. I came in with stark, dark, African American hair and an overflowing Pinterest board of loosely related ideas. I had tentatively settled on an ashy brown balayage and was slightly terrified about the humongous hair commitment I was about to make. I scheduled with Kris who had great reviews on Yelp. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment and was warmly greeted by the women at the counter. I filled out a short form and was able to be seen right away. Kris was super sweet and understanding. She made it very clear that her first priority was the health of my hair and wouldn't take it lighter than it could handle in one session. I ended up with lovely ashy blonde/brown hair that I cannot get enough of. I will go back to Sculpture and rave about them to everyone I know!! read more

The only drawback, my stylist was drinking coffee at Vida Doce for 15 mins into our appt time, and this place is very pricey. You are paying for the beautiful interior, but I received a very average looking haircut for $60. read more

I love this place....yes it can be pricey but Rick always does a great job for me and does the best head massage during the shampoo. I have been going to him for about 14 years now and he knows what I like and what i don't. Extremely disappointed. I went in to Sculptures just to get a light trim - nothing drastic. I just wanted a clean up. Instead, I left with crooked sideburns (by at least 1/2 inch), absolutely no style on the sides and the beginnings of a mullet now in the back. I couldn't tell until I left the salon how botched it was. I had to fix the sideburns when I got home - never a good sign. Now I am just waiting for my hair to grow out so I can have it cut decently. Extremely rude receptionist! Poor business practices, will not return! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The customer service is nonexistent at this salon. I had an appointment for a haircut and due to unexpected traffic on the turnpike I arrived 5 minutes late. As I was walking to the front doors my cell phone began to ring but I sent the call to voicemail. I walk into the waiting area where I see the receptionist on the phone. She looks up at me , I give her my name, and she then informs me that my appointment was at 3:15 and Oksana took another client because I was (FIVE MINUTES) late! The receptionist also said that I could either wait until 4:30 for Oksana to cut my hair and/or someone else would do it. I specifically had scheduled to receive a thermal cut. Yet, the only stylist there who does this is Oksana, so essentially my appointment was cancelled by the salon. Needless to say, upon leaving I saw the missed call on my cell was from the salon cancelling the appointment. I won't ever go back to Sculptures nor will I ever recommend the salon to anyone. You get better customer service and pampering at a Cost Cutters. read more
