Discovered this business after it showed randomly on my social feed. They take anything with a plug or cord with no paperwork or fee. Not sure how the financials work out but power to them. Place is located on the back end of business complex making access a little difficult. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I keep coming back!!! I hate that people throw out electronics. This great little place recycles them and even spent batteries so they're not in some landfill. On 4/24/2025, it was probably my fourth or fifth time and one of the young men working there apologized for not seeing me to come to my car. How wonderful!! I had two laptops and the connection cords plus two supercharging packs. He was very polite. Now with my move coming, I'm sure I'll have more to drop off!! read more

On driving up to their drop-off point, I was immediately greeted. An employee took everything out of the car and explained the process. Very friendly and professional. I was dropping off a personal printer, a stereo system, laptop sans drive, blender, broken shredder head, and miscellaneous old electronics, like digital thermometers that had bitten the dust. I hadn't been able to sanitize the printer hard drive for recycling (none of the HP online instructions worked). That concerned me. It was explained that all personal printers go into a pile within the company's locked yard, with them being crushed into a brick every 3 days. No one but employees are allowed in the yard. If you are getting rid of a computer, they will pull the drive for you (which would be my choice) or put it inside their building (also off limits to all but employees) for destruction. Ditto with phones you haven't been able to wipe. They take batteries as well (alkaline for a slight fee, based on poundage). read more

This was about the smoothest experience ever. Their hours are great! Arrived at 4:40 on a Saturday. I had boxed my stuff off and dropped it off. It took 7 minutes from the time I pulled in to the time I pulled out. They told me that they take LEDs and batteries, too, which I will bring to them next time! Hooray! read more

Nice people and they take anything with a plug or cable. Looking out over the operation, I would not trust them with a working hard drive that contains personal data even after you erase it. Stuff is stacked up everywhere inside and outside. It's so crowded, you have to back up a couple hundred feet with cars all over on both sides and people walking. Very annoying and inconvenient. I will not be returning. read more

This place is the best. Zero hassle, zero cost, friendly service. I needed to get rid of an old monitor and keyboard and selected it because it was not too far. I was greeted by a cheery and competent young man who just politely took the equipment and that was it. No forms, no fee, nothing. It's located in an industrial area next to an auto repair and behind some shopping malls, and you have to take some windy streets getting there, but use your phone to direct you and you'll have no problem. read more

very nice people work there, but it is very inconvenient. The drive way is hard to find, shares it with a mechanic. There is just a little sign, easy to miss. There isn't an easy way to get out, usually, you have to back up some distance past the garage and the cars parked there. read more

I just discovered Dream Electronic Recycling and I was VERY pleasantly surprised. I had accumulated a truck-load of electronic waste and I was trying to find a place to recycle it. I went to Miramar Landfill, but the line was extremely long and I didn't have time to wait. I went to Dream Electronic Recycling. Although it was a little tough to find, I arrived and four of their employees had my truck emptied in a couple of minutes. Everyone was very helpful, cheerful and efficient. I've found the best place in San Diego for E-recycling!! Five stars!! Dream ROCKS!!! read more

The inspector labeled it as "Irony Alum" just because of some iron screws that was magnetic, which they used as an excuse to downgrade it. At the time, aluminum was going for $0.55-$1.00 per pound, and those screws could easily be removed. That shouldn't be factored in. Other scrap yards don't pull this stunt. Bottom line: If you're just dumping scrap and don't care about the money, this place is fine. But if you have a substantial load you're looking to sell fairly, steer clear. These guys aren't worth it...

There are only a few places left where you can recycle CRV because of the deal SD made with trash…read morecollection. It's real difficult to do things, right in this day and age. pitty. I wanted to recycle some CRV and not just toss them into a land fill. most places in San Diego don't take cans and bottles and jugs anymore but this place still does.. There is a 99lb limit so there is that. just keep doing good people. Do what you can to save and be kind to the Earth.
