We had an extremely disturbing experience at this property. We had verbally confirmed a late checkout of 1:00pm with staff, and they agreed to it. Around 11:20am -- only 20 minutes past the standard checkout time, and well within the late checkout we'd arranged -- a staff member walked into our room unannounced while my wife was in the middle of getting changed. When we objected, the situation escalated immediately. Staff began screaming obscenities at us and issued direct threats to both my wife and me, demanding we leave the room right away despite having already agreed to the 1:00pm checkout. This is not how any guest should ever be treated, let alone over a 20-minute window that had already been approved. Entering an occupied room without knocking or warning is a serious privacy violation on its own. Combining that with threatening and abusive behavior from staff makes this one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. We would not recommend this property to anyone and will not be returning. read more

I had the most amazing 2 nights sleep in room 212...The Bed is 5 star comfortable.. felt like I was on Cloud 9... great little hotel but I still say the owners are idiots for posting signs to not back in vehicles but they don't have the Balls to enforce it!! I also noticed the room next to us had the aroma of authentic Indian Cuisine.. kind of rude to cook such amazing food and not offer it to your guests .. This was my first time staying at an inn and I wasn't mad at it. It was within walking distance of everything and our windows had a great view! The rooms looked remodeled and the bed was comfortable. We had the essentials of a room which is all you really need - a TV, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and central heating/cooling. The room was clean. The hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner looked like they'd been in the containers longer than they should been. We bought our own bar soap to shower with. 2 sets of towels were provided and unlike a hotel, when we asked for more towels they couldn't provide any because there weren't any extras. That was more just a lesson learned for us to bring our own towels. The water got hot but the water pressure sucked. There was no fan in the bathroom, but at least we had a window. Their full-length mirror was cool with the light, but it could have been placed a bit higher on the wall. Parking was easy. Check-in/out was quick and easy too! The front desk dude was friendly and answered any questions we had. The walls aren't soundproof, so you can hear your neighbors if they are talking loudly or turning on the water. But surprisingly, you couldn't hear the doors opening and closing like in hotels. It was a lovely stay for our short stay and I wouldn't mind staying again. If were were staying for more than 1 night, we might have gotten a hotel just for more space and longer comfort. read more

These rooms are very nice. Clean and well kept. We reserved a single room with queen bed, which comes with a microwave, and mini fridge that has that little tiny freezer section inside at the top. There's also a full length mirror with built in light. That was very cool to use. Oh and they have fire pits outside with benches. The front desk holds fire logs that you can use. That was a very nice touch. Everything inside the rooms have been updated, from the headboard to the wall art. The walls are kinda thin though. Not thin enough to hear people talk, but I did hear someone cough loud, and snore during the night. Also the floors are hardwood, so if you stay in the lower level rooms, it will sound like people are moving furniture above you, and you'll be able to hear every time someone flushes the toilet. We had no problem falling asleep though, so other than the very thin walls, everything was great. read more

Sea Air Inn is a cute inn located in the Morro Bay area and is within walking distance of several restaurants. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. One recommendation is that it can be chilly at night, so bring a jacket. Also, great people. We didn't realize that there was not a late check-in option, and they were nice enough to wait for us because we were driving all the way from Carmel by the Sea. Most uncomfortable room ever! Rooms lack any character, same picture is hung throughout the rooms. It's obvious they bought the cheapest options of everything...towels, pillows, curtains, mattresses, furniture. There's no where to sit, only options are hard, small desk chairs or the bed. Bathrooms have no ventilation except an awkwardly positioned window, and walls are stained. Room smelled. Floors move up and down when you walk. Office doesn't communicate well-odd hours, don't return calls, etc. Weird fees were charged and rate didn't match booking. No breakdown of fees was ever provided. No effort by the owner or staff to make you feel comfortable at any point. Seek a different option, cost doesn't reflect what's provided at all! read more

Booked through Expedia and check in was really fast and easy. The gentleman that checked us in on Saturday 11/8 around 6pm was really kind and helpful. He was super and nice and asked if it was our first time in Morro Bay. He gave us restaurant recommendations and we ended up going to both of the places he told us about that were really good. We decided to stay here on a whim. The girl at the front desk was really sweet and helpful. The parking lot is tiny but luckily you can walk to so many places, we left our car in the spot we chose for most of the day. The room was old, tiny, and the shower/bathroom was dingy. Non-refundable place with days left so be weary, Rooms are small but functional, clean, remodel could have been done by a more experienced contractor. No closet. Parking is first come first serve. Walk to shore, shops and restaurants is short. But they all close early, so it would be nice to utilize the common area like the fire pit! But they were conveniently out of wood??! And when asked if we can purchase our own wood, we were not permitted to bring any out side wood, just say we can't use the fire pits instead of advertising it like we can. The room, TBH , was adequate at best. Not sure about the other rooms, but we had a family suite for five and the layout of the room(s) still felt a little crowded. Basically it was two small rooms with a closet/hallway connecting them. Again, it was adequate for our needs, but don't expect it to be luxurious. On the other hand, the service was excellent (the staff was very welcoming and eager to go the extra mile for you). For me, customer service goes a long way and often makes up for any other shortcomings. Likewise, the location was great...literally walking distance to everything. Personally, for a short term (3 day weekend for example), I'd stay there again...anything longer (or a larger group) I'd probably shop around a little more. I should note, that this was the only place I could find that had three beds (which is unusual in itself) to accommodate my three kids (who refuse to share a bed) without getting a separate room...so that is why we choose Sea Air Inn to begin with. read more

Around midnight several loud people entered the room next to ours. They began yelling profanities. We tried knocking on the paper thin wall, but were ignored. By 1:30am we tried calling the Inn Office and left a message. No staff was at the Front Office. The yelling continued until after 3:00am finally quieting down by 4:00am when we were finally able to get some sleep. We requested a full refund for that night but were told we had to email the supervisor. We emailed the Supervisor several times but she would not listen and only offered a partial refund. We were never able to actually talk to the owner of the property or anyone in management. This situation impacted our entire stay, as we were forced to sleep in late and lost time on our trip. One of the main concerns we have is that there was no one at the Inn on site who was able to deal with this issue. The police showed up the next morning and asked the people next door to leave. We feel it is real safety concern, not having a full time staff to handle issues on site. read more

The marketing materials for this property give the impression that the comfort and well being of guests are of paramount concern to the owners, but in point of fact, management for this property are quick to be argumentative and equally deceptive in their business practices. The property does not maintain staff on-site past 10:00 pm (I've never come across this with ANY other motel / hotel property before) and thus, the owners can not respond in real-time to guest issues large or small, whether a full-blown emergency or a customer inconvenience associated with a specific room. The walls of this motel offer ABSOLUTELY NO noise protection from neighboring guests. With minimal effort, you can hear loud snoring from adjacent rooms. Conversations and loud television/music in adjacent rooms will prove a major disturbance to the privacy and enjoyment of your own stay -- a major issue during the busier summer months! If you look through various online platforms for reviews of this property, you will find a consistent history of complaints going back years regarding noise disturbances and issues with the property's management. Do your own research before booking here! Although the motel is conveniently situated in the heart of Morro Bay and appears from the exterior to be nicely maintained, there are numerous other close-by motels in the immediate area to choose from; motels that represent an equally comparable property to stay at with competitive booking rates, a peaceful night's rest without noise disturbances, and NO need to deal with unscrupulous business practices such as those associated with the current owners of this particular property. The noise level was so awful I was awake all night from the up and down the stairs and all the noise. The bed was also very uncomfortable old and lumpy. I found a deal here, (no doubt due to the corona scare) payed a few extra bucks for the room with a couch, new bathrooms and fixtures, a decent place. They're are a lot of the mom and pop hotels in town saw a best western and a motel6 but the small town appeal and charm remains. The room was good the building older but well kept, hey you're only sleeping here right. The towels were smaller but did the job, sheets crisp and clean. I found the pillow top bed too soft for my restfulness, pillows soft too. They're a couple of wet spots on the carpet near windows probably left open when it rained last night. Overall and considering the other race track bargain hotels this on was worthy for a return visit. Quaint little rooms that came with microwave, mini fridge, and TV. The room who is basic but felt spacious. The best part about the hotel is it is one block from the Embarcadero and beach. Located next to many cute stores and restaurants. Would recommend if you are staying in Morro Bay. Only 20 minutes from Cambria. The guy who checked us in was incredibly nice and even let us early check in. The lobby was new and pretty. The room was also very new, clean, and cute. Felt very comfortable and safe. Comfy bed. Great shower and I liked the soaps were in pumps so there was plenty to use. Hotel was in a great area close to all of the shops in town and close to the beach. Everything walking distance. Be aware, #226 is right next to stairs and you will here everyone going up and down. Also parking is a little tight, probably one space per room. Wow reading these reviews I'm glad I didn't see them before I checked in!!! I guess we got lucky, we had a top floor room on the corner, and we didn't hear anybody until doors started slamming around 9:30-10. The hotel is on a great corner. Centrally located to probably most of what the tourists would visit. The parking situation was a little tight, but overall I throughly enjoyed our stay. The comforter didn't really go with the furniture, neither did the shower curtain. There is no soap holder in the shower, the shower is quite small and the soap is rock hard. The bathroom floor gets extremely slippery when wet. We had a view of Morro Rock from our room. The hotel has a small refrigerator and a microwave. For us it was a spontaneous road trip that ended us here, so the hotel was a little pricy, but that was to be expected since we didn't plan. I'd stay here again, as i mentioned above, we must have been extremely lucky in our room in our room location. read more
