We have stayed at The Landing in Morro Bay CA. a few times over the years and love the convenience of the location. You can walk anywhere downtown from there so it's nice to park our car and forget about it. Views from our room aren't bad either, although I can only base that on the fact that we were always on the highest floor (3rd). My only complaint would be how small the bathroom is. There is no place to put your stuff. We have only been here in the cool/cold months of the year so I cannot speak to any of the complaints I've seen about A/C issues in warmer weather. Other than that it's a cute little motel.

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was very close to the sea and there were many restaurants nearby and convenient. I highly recommend it and will come again.

Stayed here for a few days during the week of 6/17/21. The rooms look like they just been remodeled. It had a Nautical theme to it and it was nice. Everything in the room worked to perfection. Water pressure in the shower was very good, AC was powerful but loud. Room included a refrigerator and Microwave, but no coffee maker. Coffee and Cinnamon bread was provided in the lobby. All the employees were very pleasant. It also had a electric fire place which can be on with or without heat. Cable tv had a few channels. Two queen size beds. Like most hotels, walls are thin and you can hear noisy guests. Plenty of parking but all outdoors. I only wish it had some kind of covered parking...see last paragraph. The hotel is in a great location. It's in the middle of everything but not on the main street were all the tourists are at. It's walking distance to everywhere. I walked to the Rock in my flip flops which is probably a little bit over a mile. When i was looking for a room, this hotel along with two other ones where the priciest. My room had a view of the Rock...and it looks like most of the rooms did. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. Just a side note, I've been to so many coastal towns, but for some reason the Seagulls really loves this area. I've never seen a coastal town where the Seagulls bombard vehicles/roofs, lampposts, etc with their poop like this town. Even the employees also mentioned it. I parked my car strategically and the Seagulls still got my car a couple of times...lol. Luckily, there was a self-serving carwash just around the corner...they must do some serious business.

Such a wonderful stay at the Landing! Very clean, cozy, comfortable (best pillows), friendly staff and kid friendly! We were very pleased with our stay. And will stay in the future.

My husband book this place for a little getaway. Friendly staff, lovely view and a freshly updated room. We were really happy with this place.

What a perfect spot my Hubs and I stayed in during our weekend getaway to Morro Bay. We were on the top floor and had views of the Rock, which was always majestically when you start your day. We loved our stay here and would come back, as well as recommend it to others! Location has views but is walkable to a little bit of everything. The rooms are only what you need for a quick getaway, a place to sleep and shower. There is a small kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker and fridge. The bathroom (while small) is newly remodeled with a gorgeous stone tile shower. Decor is cute and modern. Wood floors. Oh! And there is a heater in your room to warm up the place on a cold night. Parking is on-site. Staff is friendly and available to help. Coffee bar in the mornings at the reception desk which has a little "to go" window. We loved our stay here.

Customer service. I asked for rooms together. They were on different floors. The lady was rude, I would never recommend this motel.

I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

There was also a living room with a fire place. It felt like a home! Service was great. Check in was a breeze. They have limited front desk hours (10a-6p) but if you get there later they will put your key in a locked box from the front door so you can do self check in. Make sure to call ahead if you choose self check in so you can get the code. Also, they have an emergency line available if you need anything after hours. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were able to rest well and it was quiet. The breakfast was delicious! We particularly enjoyed the Bircher Muesli, so good and refreshing and on the healthier side. I like how they have menus to choose from and it's so easy to fill out, after that, you just drop it off the night before to the front office box. My favorite part was that they had a heater in the bathroom, for someone who gets cold easily this was so convenient! There's plenty of parking and there's even a fireplace outside to relax if you'd like. They have bikes you can borrow as well. We walked everywhere and this place is the perfect spot because it was close to everything. The waterfront was only a 6 min walk while Main Street is a 3 min walk. We would definitely come back here again. Such a gem in Morro Bay! Thank you beach bungalow inn!

Many reviewers mentioned how clean the property was and how comfortable the beds were, so I came in with high expectations, especially since it has a 5-star rating on Yelp. Upon arrival, I was greeted by who I believe was the owner. She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain how everything worked, including the air conditioning and refrigerator. From what I could tell, she and her husband are the primary people running the inn, and they were both wonderful hosts. Throughout my stay, they checked in to make sure everything was going well, which I really appreciated. When I walked into the room, the reviews were absolutely right. Everything was spotless--from the bedding and carpet to the bathroom. I was also pleasantly surprised by the shower's water pressure. At many hotels it's either too weak or inconsistent, but here it was just right. The bed was also very comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it does exactly what it promises, especially for the price. It's clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near downtown and the pier. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way.
