I found the Sea Aire Motel fantastic!! The location is perfect if you want to see and be able walk to the beach just steps from your front door. The staff were welcoming and accommodating.. won't say what..because I don't want to see no frowns from staff for regretting being so helpful. I only gave the Sea Aire Motel 4-stars because their place is more homey than luxurious. But I avoid luxury accommodations when on vacation to be able to do more outside activities. 1 Star (because negative star is not an option) - BUG-INFESTED DUMP. DO NOT STAY HERE. A few years ago, this place was okay. My most recent stay? Hands down one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. This "hotel" is more like a BUG-TEL. Sure, it has beach access and a nice view, but that's bait. Do not fall for it. The so-called "upgrades" are lipstick on a pig, and once you're inside, it's all downhill. Check-in was a joke; the front desk woman was curt, dismissive, and borderline rude. No welcome, no hospitality. Then I walked into my room... and it was over. Once I got in bed, I was eaten alive by bugs all night! It was like trying to sleep in a buffet--for the bugs. I couldn't rest because every time I tried to close my eyes, I felt something biting me. My son and mom (in a separate room) were asleep, so I literally sat outside on a chair all night long, reading just to avoid being attacked. The next morning, covered in bites and running on zero sleep, I told the front desk what happened. Did I get an apology? Nope. She actually acted like I was the problem. As if I would invent a story about bugs and being awake for 36 hours just for fun. Yes, the sunrise was nice. Yes, I saw two rocket launches and some cute little crabs on the beach. But no amount of "Florida charm" can make up for a night of torture. Bottom line: this place is a bug-infested, customer service-optional nightmare. The cheap price and pretty view are a trap. Pay more. Stay anywhere else. I am a Central Floridian and I know for a fact there are better options than this dump. read more

Fantastic glimpse into the past that was Old Florida. Super quaint small 1950s motel that is on the beach and as a bonus you can see launches from the Cape. Clean, convenient, and comfortable. Stay here and bypass the Hiltons. You won't be sorry. read more

This is my second or third time staying here. It's a really cool place. A throwback to hotels of times past. They do have modern conveniences like WiFi. I checked in and Chelsea remembered me which was nice. They have the old room keys which is neat. I had a problem with my tv and the person came over and swapped out my tv. She was very pleasant about it. The place has a wonderful view of the ocean and plenty of seating outside. I can't speak to other people's negative experience but for me, this place is always worth staying at. read more

I will definitely be staying here again. It is the most relaxing place. I picked an oceanfront room. There is a front door and a back door. You can park right by your room. The ocean is just steps away. It's nice because you don't have to deal with a lobby, an elevator or lots of people. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room exceeded my expectations. It was extremely clean and updated. There is a Publix supermarket close by and restaurants as well. Next time I'm staying longer and I will buy coffee and snacks. My room had an oversized dorm refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishes and a sink. Sea Aire gives you privacy while being right by the ocean. The beach is beautiful! It is great for walking because it is flat and wide. There is and outdoor shower to rinse off after swimming. At night many people enjoyed using the grills and the pavillion. WOW! Great spot for convenience! Cons/warnings after the following pros!! Oceanview room I had came with nice windows to look out of while eating or sitting down inside. Clean towels, readily available if maid is on duty. Clean rooms, equipped with broom so that you can sweep up any sand you track in during your stay. Kitchenette in my room came with a CLEAN microwave and mini fridge, along with a sink and soap to wash the CLEAN dishes with. Silverware provided. Everything was clean. Even the cutting board. (For stocking your mini fridge during the stay, see many stores or restaurants in the area. I was able to figure out how to get a champagne bottle to fit in the door of it LOL) Clean bathrooms. We LOVED the bench swings that you could be on while the waves crashed not to far from you. BEACH ACCESS IS RESTRICTED TO THOSE STAYING AT SEA AIRE, and it is convenient as hell! I mean, it's just a straight shot to the beach!! WALKING DISTANCE TO RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS!! WARNINGS/ CONS: do not get here before your check in time!! It doesn't matter if you ordered your room for a Thursday and you want to come in at exactly 12 am that day, if your email says your room will be ready by 3 pm, DO NOT expect it to be ready when someone else is using that same room & and WHEN a maid hasn't cleaned it up for you. Warning: if you're incredibly picky about what you're provided with, look else where. This is a very relaxing and chilled out spot; and it's not some gold plated hotel that wipes your butt for you. There may be minor things here or there, that you can tell the staff needs fixing. But you should come here expecting that the minor things you may notice, are dismissible. Thank you. I made a digital reservation at this dated establishment on line and paid in full for a week long stay. Weeks later when I got my credit card statement i found that they had continued additional charges above and beyond the contract charges that I had agreed to on-line. One was for $100 and another was for $14. It was a good location but the help was drinking and cussing on the job. I regret my stay And can not recommend it for christians or families with children. We loved this hotel. We like the older mid-century motels because they just have so much character, and this one didn't disappoint. It was clean, we slept well, nice hot shower, and the beach view! It's just incredible. We went to three restaurants within easy walking distance, and they were all incredibly good. This was just a weekend getaway for us but I wouldn't have minded a much longer stay at all. Loved it. read more

The staff is more than accommodating and goes out of their way . If you don't have something , they usually do and will share of give it to you. Last year it was sunscreen . This place is right on the beach with killer good views , a pavilion with smokers and grills , a swing to sit and take in the ocean , great Wi-Fi . Recently, I wanted to see the Launch of Artemis 1, I didn't have a lot of money to spend, but I wanted to beat the crowds and stay the night on Sunday, August 28, 2022 so that my husband and I could view Artemis 1 Monday Morning. We booked a room through booking.com and tried to get the cheapest room just for one night on the beachside to be able to wake up and view the launch. We ended up with "Sea Aire Oceanfront Motel" which with taxes and fees came to $178.00/night. We requested early check in, but they couldn't guarantee it, so as we are also Annual Passholders for Kennedy Space Center, we ventured there first, spent our day there and checked into the motel. When we arrived as common practice, hotels usually get your credit card and place holds for $100 to cover room, etc. The room was nothing to write home about, its a 1950's motel without amenities (no pool/Wall Air Units) it also said Oceanview we paid extra for, and the only thing you could see from our room was the hotel grounds. it is what we needed for the one night. When I realized later in the day that they actually charged my card $100 I called them while out to dinner and they said that I would get it back, then I went to the office and they said again it would go back on my card. When we checked out, I finally realized that I was not getting the $100 back, and that it was an "EVENT FEE" . The check-in paperwork I had signed the previous day (because the disclaimer on the paper didn't say anything about an event fee), it was hidden in the last line of another page so that when you sign in, essentially you are signing off on paying that fee. Then as we checked out, they charged my card again for $12.00, they couldn't tell me why, just that I had a balance (which I didn't) I had prepaid through booking.com there should have been no fees when I arrived at all. I wanted to make everyone aware of this, they weren't nice, they basically said that every hotel on the space coast does this from five star to two star and that's the way it is. By the way I checked with the Tourism board for the Space Coast and this EVENT FEE is NOT an accepted practice and they have never heard of an event fee for space launches. The Motel said they would call me, but never did. I have filed complaints with the Space Coast Tourism boards, the BBB and the Department of Business Reg in Florida as to this unethical practice. I have sought my refund and investigation through booking.com as they were not aware of this practice and are looking into getting me a refund but were unsuccessful as they said they had my signature on the check in paperwork. I very much feel that everyone should be aware of these practices and how they made us (Floridians) in our home state feel like we just got taken for a ride. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I'm not trying to not pay my fair share, but this was unethically done and they need to somehow be held accountable in anyway possible, be it a review or complaint. Had I known I was going to end up having to pay almost $300 I would have stayed at a better place. I have never made a complaint against a hotel in my life, but the way they handled this was just too unethical to not complain. To date, I have not heard from the motel. **UPDATE: Resolution of BBB Complaint: Today, Monday, September 19,2022- I was able to see that indeed the money was credited back to my card. Further, I will revise my reviews to reflect this credit, but will not change my view as this practice of additional fees upon arrival, lean towards price gouging and unethical practice. My hope is that you make all your clients/customers aware of this additional fee prior to their arrival and again at check-in while they are signing off on paperwork, and that you move the disclaimer to another form, to make it clear and stated. read more

The absolute best place to stay in Cocoa Beach! Rooms are clean and tidy. Just right for resting after a long walk on the beach. Staff is awesome! We absolutely love this place. Close to shops, restaurants, and great local bars. A short drive from the pier at cocoa beach and just down the road from Cape Canaveral. We have stayed at the Sea Aire many times. It's very close to the beach, 60ish yards, very simple yet perfect for a great beach front experience. Price is very reasonable. Great value for the cost. read more

Booked Room #8 7-28 to 8-7-2022 but were put in Room #10 After being insulted and threatened with bodily harm (me), my husband decided we needed to cut our 10 day stay to just 4 days... Sea Aire, knowing I was insulted AND threatened, they refuse to refund our money for the last 6 days. They also re-rented the room we were in. Guess there is nothing like FREE money when you can get it! New scam - they now claim to have an EVENT FEE, that is, IF you happen to stay there and there is a rocket launch...that qualifies as an EVENT!! FYI: There is no event fee!! Do not stop here, there are plenty of much nicer Hotels, Motels for the same price further down the road. After making Sea Aire our vacation "Home" for the last 26 years, we will never stay there again. The 'Family' atmosphere has been replaced by tension and stress. A wonderful motel from back in the day. It reminded me of when I was a kid growing up in the Boston area. We would go on a trip and driving through New Hampshire they would have all of these motor courts. Small family run motor courts, this is what the Sea Aire reminded me of. The rooms were as clean as an operating room, beds comfortable, lines and pillows great. Bathroom was spacious and again very clean. The location is right on the beach, walk through their gate and you are on the beach. They have a pavilion that has picnic tables, grilles and a nice swing seat. The staff is very friendly right down to the house keepers. A wonderful place to stay and will stay here again, this was our second visit. read more

We wanted to stay somewhere that was old school Florida and right in the beach. I usually avoid the word "motel" but made an exception because of the location being directly on the beach. We reserved an oceanfront room which had chairs and a swing right out the door to enjoy ocean sights and sounds and my favorite; the moonrise, which was spectacular both nights we stayed. Walking distance to the popular Coconuts on the Beach, coffee shops and a few restaurants. A bit more of a trek to a convenience store for water. Unfortunately their machine was out of bottled water both days so we had to heel-toe it to the store a couple times. The kids absolutely loved the peaceful simplicity and so did the parents! Bonus points for letting us use their nice Morey boogie boards and laundry facilities. Highly recommend staying here before or after your cruise. Easy shuttle to the port. The only thing I would change would be WATER! read more

Staying here was an absolutely joy! It is so beautiful, offers privacy while still being in town, and the view from our room was spectacular. It only took us about 30 seconds to get from room to beach. Rooms have been recently renovated, and are equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, so we only ate out once. We enjoyed many of our meals at one of the picnic tables under the pavilion. My 2 small children loved it. We will be back! read more

This is such a perfect little motel with a GREAT ocean view. It's not new, not fancy, but very laid back and I wouldn't change a thing about it. My friend's whole wedding party stayed here the weekend of her wedding and everything was perfect with the exception of a few misunderstandings when my friend first got here. First, the front office booked the bride and groom two rooms assuming they'd be sleeping separately the night before the wedding, so one bridesmaid and one groomsman didn't get to stay at the motel because they said they were all booked when there was actually an extra room the entire time. The second mishap was the bride and groom were promised an Oceanview room when they booked, but upon arrival, were disappointed to find that wasn't the case. This was quickly corrected by the staff, however. Those are the only reasons this place isn't getting 5 stars from me. Just extra, unnecessary stress added to the bride during her big day. This is a mom and pop motel that's been around for a long time. It's not fancy but it is clean, has a small kitchen with eating space, and sits directly on the beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. There is a large pavilion with barbecues and tables for outdoor cooking and eating. It is our number one place to stay but it's hard to get a reservation because it seems everyone else loves it as much as we do. read more

The staff were nice. The view of the ocean was nice but obstructed by the dune and an old white fence and gate. You have a door with screen door but the screen is torn and there is a big opening at the bottom of the door where big critters can get thru. This allows plenty ocean air in. Other than that the room is nice and rehabbed. However my sheets were stained and there was a horrible mildew smell in the bathroom. I couldn't stand to be in there for 2 seconds it was so overwhelming. My husband is in construction for 30+ years so he knew it was mold. He told one of the female staff who was cleaning another room so they'd be aware. Definitely not worth $234 a night even during a holiday weekend. Oh and don't expect Central AC bc our room as a floor AC with a hose from the AC to the outside attached under our window. I appreciate AC in the Florida heat. It's definitely a place for families as there were multiple family members staying together in multiple units as they took over the courtyard with all their beach stuff, toys and folded chairs. I thought by all the alcohol bottles lined up under the pavilion it was a bar. However it wasn't for all. Just the huge family staying that took it over for their families use. Love this place! Have stayed here many times. What can I say, it just feels like home. Is it the fanciest place on the beach...no, but it WAY makes up for it in affordability, view, proximity to bars, restaurants and my favorite place to shop...Publix. The staff are friendly, and I don't have a care in the world about being 2 doors from the ice machine or having a mint left on my pillow. The owner is a wonderful lady and the grounds are inviting. We grilled out every night, watching to the waves crash the beach, from their picnic shelter and could prepare breakfast in our room and enjoy the meal with a great view of the Atlantic. If there is one drawback (it isn't to me) its the lack of a pool, but to me, when you have the ocean and showers available, you're Golden. I'm 55 and spent hours body surfing, sunning and enjoying a cold local brew. It's always a treat to watch the cruise ships leave Port Canaveral from Jetty Park or "The Cove" (a strip of bars along the ports exit channel) which is just a short drive north. If you're up for a leisurely drive south, Sebastian Inlet is a beautiful state park. Airboat rides are also close by off of Route 520 at "The Lone Cabbage". The seafood in Cocoa Beach is as fresh as the air. Check out the fish & chips at the Pig & Whistle! Nolan's Irish Pub is a must, as well as the "Beach Shack" and of course the legendary Ron Jon surf shop. No matter what you wind up doing to entertain yourself, you'll be VERY happy that you stayed at the "Sea Aire" rather than one of those chain hotels. I'd stay NO place else, but don't forget, I'm also not in need of pampering, I just want a CLEAN Comfortable room at a competitive rate. See you in Cocoa! read more

My husband and I stayed for one night after a visit to the Kennedy Space Center. The motel was clean and comfortable. The location of this place is amazing. The beach is right outside your door! The rooms are furnished with older pieces, but nothing is broken down or worn. The staff was friendly and left you alone unless you needed something. The Sea Aire is the place to choose if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the big chain hotels, or are just wanting to support a local business. The motel is also in EASY walking distance to restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. My only complaint was that the air conditioner was not on when we entered the room, and we had to turn it on and wait for the room to cool down. Try Java and Juice for breakfast and Jazzy's for good seafood baskets. read more

We decided to get married on the beach and this was the closest hotel so my now-husband wanted to stay here. I'll admit that I was skeptical because of the lack of amenities, but they did not disappoint. All of the staff were pleasant and the room was comfortable. I did miss having someone come in and make my bed for me but I quickly got over it when I woke up to a sunrise on the beach. This is not a hotel for someone who likes to have housekeeping come in and clean up because there is no maid service. But if you want something affordable and on the beach, this is the place to stay. read more
